Not buying the xpac until I see a promising warrior update

Yea, we all felt borderline insulted by the single note about warrior in the update. The lack of communication or attention on warrior is beginning to seem not only intentional, but on the verge of flippant disdain by the devs.

I thought they were just playing things close to the chest when they left warrior as is. I thought they had big things planned and were just setting the table for us. Now I'm beginning to think they really just don't care. It's almost as if we're seen as an annoyance to them. Bugs buzzing around.

This does not bode well for the future of the warrior class.

Warrior obviously balanced and where it's meant to be. It's just that the 'tuning down' of other classes will never be achieved...

I know from your other posts that you think Warrior needs a lot of love and that it's not in a good place in the meta right now. And I wholeheartedly agree with you.  I do however, want to point out a way that I've seen people talk about "balance" that I think is misleading.

Saying "warrior is balanced but everything else is overpowered" means the same thing  as "warrior is underpowered....and therefore is NOT balanced."

I think when people say " Warrior is balanced," what they mean is that, looking at Warrior *by itself*, the class has notable strengths as well as weakness; that it can counter some things and be countered by others. That's all well and good, and if GW2 were a Warriors-only affair, that would be fine.

But that's not the case.  There are 8 other classes out there that Warrior needs to contend with. And those other classes tend to out perform Warrior in at least competitive content. That is, Warrior is NOT balanced once you look beyond Warrior's own strengths and weaknesses and compare it to other classes. And frankly, that's the only kind of balance that matters.

So even if Warrior is "where it is meant to be" in the eyes of the devs, it doesn't make sense to leave it there given the current state of the game. As you pointed out, there will likely never be a day when all classes are "brought down to Warrior's level." The appropriate thing to do, therefore, is to buff Warrior so that it can compete in the current meta. You can always tune it back down again if the meta changes and War becomes too powerful. But leaving it underpowered because it's supposedly "balanced" or "where it's supposed to be" is denying the reality we're living in right now.

Preach. To their eyes we are ok. Is it hell to fight other specs as a Berserker or Core? yes. Is even SpB falling short ? Yes. The only thing they want to focus on rn tho is the elite and Im sure it will be dissapointing.  As a warrior I know what to expect. Too bad we rerached this point. Now Harbingers can also farms us yay
