Thanks much for the Combo changes.

This was something I mentioned/requested a good while ago and i'm pretty ecstatic to see it actually make it into the game.
A few of my builds use Combo fields quite often but the main one I get the most use of is my main Ranger build which previously lacked a little in the CC department.

These days I rely quite a bit on combining Sword 2's leap with the Electric Wyvern's Electric field to get an on demand Daze CC to back up LB 4 and Axe 4's CC's, as well as the Wyverns Wing Buffet attack which I have less control over since it's an AI skill.. this is mainly how I remedied the lacking CC problem which works great for solo play.

But In group content (especially world bosses etc) it can be insufferable to achieve this leap Daze when you have Guards and Necros dropping light/dark fields everywhere and turning that very useful hard CC into a completely worthless blind or a more useful but in the current situation useless light aura.. and of course there is also the occasional smoke field.. yay random stealth lol

Having my own electric field prioritise now is going to be such a huge help, no more wasted combos.. no more sacrificing a beneficial position to try and work around someone else's AoE spam  ^^
I also think this is going to be a good thing for newer players as well making it much easier for them to learn and use on demand combo mechanics in their builds regardless of how far into the game they are and how many players they are around.

I expect a large majority of people much like myself back in the day too have for a long time simply waved combo mechanics off as unreliable and messy.. and ultimately not worth trying to actively incorporate into builds for those reasons, which is a shame as they are an interesting and fun mechanic to use in Gw2 and Anet did actively promote them as such way back when they were showing off the original Gw2 class trailers ^^
One of the reasons I even choose a Ranger as my first class in Gw2 was because I loved the idea of shooting arrows through a fire field and having them catch fire and do burning damage 😄
That was such a cool difference from Gw1 where I would either have to cast an enchantment skill instead so my arrows would deal fire damage and explode for a while or i'd have to spend a valuable elite skill slot to shoot a fire arrow.

I expect there are a lot of builds that are going to be able to take good advantage of their own combo fields with this change and that is just awesome.
I only hope however that there isn't so much overlapping confusion.. like if I pass through a dark field before my electric one i'll still pop the Dark Combo instead.
If there is half a Dark field before my Electric one and I leap through it I am hoping that if my full leap lands me within my electric field then my field will still take priority.

That would be really sweet ^^

Imagine if your field got stronger or lasted longer the more people successfully combo'd with it.
That would be a pretty interesting thing to play with in group content, specially with blasts for party support.

Someone could set up a T1 fire field, 2 players leap into it buffing it to a T3 fire field with increased power and duration then someone sets off a blast in it and everyone in the area gets 9 stacks of might instead of just 3.

I am hoping for when you combo in x field you get y effect not the combo type but you get that added effect in the combo "ranges." So say you blast water and blasting water also give reg so you also give aoe reg to ppl you heal with the blast of water if you leap then you give reg to the ones you heal that way as well etc..

 

As for new combos i love to see a "wave" combo where you give a cone effect kind of like blast but a bit longer range and in the way your looking. For new fields i love to see an earth field its something that is very much missing from the ele field sets.
