Grand Marshal.4098
Where is the GM minor on willbender which says: deal 10% more dmg but lose 300 power or 300 vitality or 300 toughness?

Berserker losing 300 toughness because ANet likes tradeoffs and yet here we see an elite spec with no negative trade offs. You may argue it's the same in Zerker cause +300 power but that's just flavor and primal Bursts have been nerfed enough for that to not have any value. Willbender comes here showing some decrease in team support capabilities while having pretty good trade offs for solo stats. 1

It's all in the adept major line, they pick their tradeoff there, lucky bastards get to pick their tradeoff...

Basically this.. But not baseline 300 toughness penalty on Zerker with only 1 trait alleviating for that trade off. And uuhh, it's OK cause it's warrior.... 1 2

Sobx.1758
Isn't it fairly similar though? As berk you can make a choice to push for more dmg or nullify the toughness tradeoff (+get some stuff). They can pick if they want +/-, you can pick if you want to nullify the toughness tradeoff. Or am I missing something here? Edited August 15, 2021 by Sobx.1758

Or what did I miss here? The issue is you can choose to nullify the trade off as a Zerker, but choosing either GM forces you into a disadvantage as opposed to willbender being able to decide what their disadvantage will be for the trade off. While Zerker needs to live with the toughness penalty if wanting to go for an alternate route to power. I don't mind less defense for more dmg, but that's how choosing traits works in the first place. Dmg traits won't provide defensive utility and defensive traits won't boost dmg. That's the trade off. Having to go for a negative toughness penalty no matter what is imo bad design and should be elevated to 180 toughness instead for Dolly Signet to be a good alternative to Eternal Champion. Basically we get punished for offensive game play and receive little to no good effects for choosing something more defensive. Not to mention how eternal champion is probably the only aight (master tier imo) non berserk mode tied trait. As in the stunbreak part, not the negligent restoration of our actual toughness while in Berserk.

The only choice you make later is if you want more dmg or nullify the tradeoff. Quote I don't mind less defense for more dmg, but that's how choosing traits works in the first place. I think I'm still missing the point. You don't "need to go for penalty no matter what". You can nullify that tradeoff, STILL have 300 power and not push the dmg further. If I understand what you're saying here, it's the equivalent of willbenders complaining, because they "HAVE" to pick that trait to get additional power. It's still a trait choice and still a tradeoff? You don't HAVE to go for more dmg as berk. It's understandable that you want to, but lets not pretend there are no options to nullify the toughness loss?
