Beta characters will have access to WvW current accounts earned World Ability Points?

Wasn't sure where to post this.

I know this is a very minor thing, But I was thinking if some how the beta event / chars coming up will have access to the accounts accumulated World Ability Points...? 
or.. are the beta chars COMPLETLY separate from anything account based. 
Just wondering, basically thinking about being able to use mount etc in WvW while testing/playing the beta.

Yes, whatever mounts you have unlocked, they will be able to use as well. All of those unlocks are account-based, so meaning that if you get them once on a character, any other character on your account will be able to use those unlocks.

 

Now, if you go trying to use the beta characters to make some kind of progress, I.. don't actually know what happens, even if it is account-bound progress. Best guesstimate, from what I've read elsewhere, is don't. Because it'll bork things.

Any progress made on a beta character is temporary since it does not carry over to your main account and will be deleted at the end of the beta.

Again as Anet has stated, the beta characters are on a snapshot of the main account server, with separate progress. You are literally logging on to different account servers when you click your character icons, even if everyone is the same instance. We dont know what exact week that snapshot will be, but you'll probably have most of your progression. Whatever you progress on a beta character, will be gone when it's over. So dont go farm gold or something on a beta character, lol.

Beyond the character select screen the beta characters are effectively running on a seperate copy of your account. If you've ever played a game with test servers which copy the main servers it's like that, but you don't need a seperate login for it. At some point before the beta Anet will copy all the data on your account and then the beta characters will run on that version, effectively frozen in time. Anything you had unlocked on your account will be available to them, including anything in the bank, but anything gained after that copy is made won't be. (So you can't drop items into the bank during the beta test for them to use.)

 

So lets say Anet are going to make the copies at 2pm on Monday. You happen to be free on Monday and spend the afternoon playing WvW. At 1pm you had 500 ability points and by 2pm you've gained 10 more, you then play for another 2 hours gaining 20 more ability points for a total of 530. When you log in on Tuesday and create a beta character they'll have 510 ability points to spend because that's now many your account had at the time it was copied.

 

Similarly anything beta characters do will have no impact on your main account. You could delete everything in your bank and the items will still be there for your other characters.
