What if we don't get a support e-spec the way we are thinking it will be...

What if instead they went really out of left field.

 

Warrior up until now has been a stat check, and they lowered that bar in Feb2020. Warrior doesn't have the same cheese that other professions have, we lack those mechanics.

 

So, what if all this was to pave the way for something that actually has a better mechanic...

 

What if they actually gave us stealth and deception skills? Like not blasting a smoke field, but legit gave us stealth as a mechanic.

 

Like this:

Lose all core bursts (there is your trade off). Adrenaline no longer decays out of combat.

 

F1: Stealth Mode: Enter stealth (3s) and gain access to Assassination Skills. Assassination Skills cost 10 Adrenaline to use and end stealth when they Strike. Adrenaline decays while in stealth at a rate of 3 strikes per second. Stealth Mode has a 10s CD.

Assassination Skills would be powerful burst skills, relatively the same power as Primal Bursts. They would be locked behind stealth. Gaining Stealth either through deception skills or by activating stealth mode grants access to Assassination skills.

 

Deception skills would offer a few more ways to go into stealth, as well as a few shadowstep like skills.

 

Some trait options could be:

 

Minor 1: Gain 360 precision

Minor 2: Gain 20% condition duration reduction. This is doubled while under the effects of stealth.

GM 1: Entering Stealth mode grants it's boons to allies within 600 range (see below).

GM 2: Stealth mode removes Reveal.

GM 3: Entering Stealth mode cleanses 3 conditions and grants Resistance for 3s (10s CD).

MM 1: Gaining Stealth grants you fury 5s, superspeed for 3s, and quickness for 3s (8s CD).

MM 2: Gaining Stealth grants you Protection, Resolution, and Vigor for 5s (8s CD).

MM 3: Gaining Stealth grants you Alacrity, swiftness, and stability (1 stack) for 5s. (8s CD)

AM 1: When you grant yourself stealth grant it to allies within 600 range.

AM 2: Assassination skills inflict weakness for 5s and slow for 5s (15s CD)

AM 3: Assassination skills inflict immobilize for 2s (15s CD)

 

If that happens then I vote that the GS Assassination skill gets named 'Sneaky kitten Sword.'

I concur, I do so very much believe that this would be the ideal route for a warrior elite specialization! Furthermore, let me comment on how warriors are not deceptive combatants, therefore I would vote for the change of utility types from 'Deceptions' into 'Get rekt'.

I'd rather not see a specialization that gives Stealth to yet another profession.

If anything, Arenanet should start reducing the Stealth that currently exists in the game.

I know right, just a random thought, but it would need to get more stealth from the traitline, and deceptions would work for that.

I don't disagree one bit. But this did sound like a fun warrior interpretation of a stealth class.

Adrenaline becomes ki and works like life force. Being in this ki form will change all your weapon skills.

Well, the point was to have Adrenaline that did not decay out of combat, just while in stealth, and that the 'new' bursts would be powerful enough in their own right that 'tiers' would not be needed.

But hey, I spent all of 5 minutes on this while taking a 💩 at work.

I really don't know what to expect at this point honestly. I just want the entire class be looked at a little bit again. I wanna see stuff like Soldier's Focus refresh *all* cooldowns by 3 seconds each time it procs. Deadeye has a stronger version of this and after playing both of them a little bit I think it wouldn't even be op.

 

But I digress. The elite spec really doesn't have many places to go imo. I would HOPE for a more standard support spec that isn't just banners and cc, but at the same time it would always have to compete with banners and some of the better utilities that I don't even see that being viable. I hope that they actually do what they said and bend the rules a bit for this one in particular.

I still want Kharazim from HoTs for Warrior, since it think it is one of the best ideas for damage/healing gameplay. Mesmer Got something like Lanaya from Dota so why not something from HoTs.

I enjoyed watching this vid when you posted it last time. Still looks like a very good warrior idea. And ngl, Staff would rly fit this kind of spec with lots of utility, evade/block some CC and mobility.
