Not specific to GW2 - Question about playing on an HDTV

I know we have a lot here who play on HDTVs, so figured I would throw out the question. Last night I tried running my PC trough my receiver (Harmon Kardon AVR-2700) and didn't see it in my nVidia Control Panel at all. If I plug it in straight to the TV it detects it and works fine. Any ideas? I run the PS4 and BD player through the receiver, so it is fully HDCP compliant as well as compliant to do 4k pass through, but not HDR. Any idea? Could it be the HDR thing? I don't have HDR enabled on the HDMI port I have it plugged in to on the TV, something I explicitly have to do, so I would think it shouldn't matter. the TV will complain if you try to send it an HDR signal without having it enabled. My video card is an nVidia gtx1080 and I'm running a 4k/HDR compliant HDMI cable.
