Pressing play on character select produces errors

'transaction in progress', or no response at all. Been playing for four years and I've never encountered this problem before. My internet isn't cut out or anything or I wouldn't be able to post this. Any ideas as to what the issue is? Its completely acting up. When I do get in game eventually, my skills have several seconds delay on them. Is there a setting that's been fucked up or something? My firewall is off; that's not the issue. I can hop on youtube and stream videos just fine so the internet connection itself isn't horribly laggy and I was just playing this yesterday without any problems.

You can use a program like Pingplotter to see if there are connection issues to the server(s).
