How I see it, we weren't awarded a Gift because the map didn't release at it's full version. That will be next patch. Lanterns were enabled to have a way to obtain the Gifts before next patch. Do I like it? No, but I wouldn't like to wait another 2-3 months in order to complete the map and get the gift. There was a lack of communication and it has to improve.

This shouldn't happen to any new legendaries on '24, '25 or '26 expansions.

I see, I guess the only problem is the lack of communication about the situation. I actually didn't know the map was still incomplete, it makes more sense now.

If you're looking for the Gift of Inner Nayos, you need to light the lamps that became available with this update. 😉

Hmm, but that's not how the game works, on any map. I think you're mixing up second time Gifts versus the first one you're supposed to get for map completion, like every other map, including the 2 other ones used with this gift, which also have lamps.

Are people that didn't complete half the map before the update and complete it all now going to get a Gift of Inner Nayos? If so, everyone who completed the map before should get one when they finish the full complete.

Punishing the early adopters doesn't really make sense. The lesson learned here is don't engage with unfinished content. Not a very good message to be sending to people.

    :EDIT:
I didn't realize the map was actually still incomplete, so although it's confusing due to the lack of communication about the situation, this temporary solution of doing something that's never been done before to get the first gift of [map] is clearer.

  3. Not extending the tiers dynamically based on the player engagement is a bit of a missed opportunity by anet. Would have been quite a win to show they're actively part of the community.

Something small and simple like 'wow guys, we've been watching you all smash through those tiers.. so here's some more to work on!'

  4. Anything by Tybalt Leftpaw from the order of whispers story steps. Not only an incredible award winning voice actor, Jim Ward, who has done a bunch of tv shows, movies and videogames, bringing the character to life, but also the character has some funny lines.

Here is one gem:'Thrown Off Guard' story step.

Tybalt is a Male Charr, temporarily transformed through an illusion spell. He talks about apples all the time from the first time you meet him.

Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: "Burn me, I'm a human girl! Whoa, I've got two hands and some lovely...apples."

It seems to be random whether I get bonus boxes from the listed meta events or not. Just to clarify, I understand there is a specific list of meta events which are included in the rush. I am sticking to the list, and still not getting bonus boxes upon completion. For example yesterday I received no bonus boxes at all after midday, and just now, I completed Ascension for the first time today. According to all sources I've found that event should reward me with 4 boxes, but I got none, yet Pinata at reset gave me 4 as it should have. I'm very confused, please help!

What are these sources? Ascension does not give any boxes, only the doppelganger after it. Sounds like you did some stuff not included in the event.

From the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Meta-Event_Rush page, you can review the 'event for reward' table underneath the timer.

Ascension is only included in the timer because, if ascension is not done, doppelganger will not spawn. It is part of the chain. Similarly, you can see helping the outposts before chak and rounds 1-3 also do not give bonus boxes, they are simply part of the chain.

The south escort gets stuck under the ground and doesn't walk any further, he even keeps talking as if everything is normal. All enemies cleared, nothing you can do to make sure it succeeds. The bug is the south lane escort.

All you can do is praise Joko and hope it doesn't bug out.

  7. The thing that I find odd about the collection is that certain parts are locked behind the completion of some (not all) story episodes/steps.

The only benefit of story content is an emotionally rewarding/engaging experience for the players, why make players ruin the story and have to experience the ending before they're ready?

If someone wants the skyscale, they have to finish the final part of the story, completing undermining all the work of the story team, building up over multiple episodes.

Tying them together forces people to not care about the story in their journey to get a unique mount, and it turn, care less about the franchise and the characters in it.

On one hand, anet builds up the story likes it's a big thing and is also concerned about spoilers.. but then on the other forces everyone to do the ending to start working on the skyscale.

  8. I feel like jumping puzzles are trying to force a genre in to a game engine that wasn't designed for it.

It's simply not made for such precise movements with precise camera control and there are no jumping abilities (unless you cheat with mounts). Windows of failure are too large and it's too punishing when you fail. Ping also makes it harder. Jumping puzzles from the initial development of the game acknowledge the framework of the engine and aren't too extreme, I liked those ones.. but then you look at something like the Christmas ones, and even the 'easy' path is pushing things too far.

This is not a 3D platformer, this is not mario odyssey. Jumping is a fun and challenging feature in that game. Here, it's frustrating and the game is trying to be something that it's not.

Half the time the challenge is not even the puzzle itself, but wrestling with the limited camera and player controls, not being able to see exactly where you are, or how far something really is, or how many pixels of space you actual have on the sliver of a platform you need to land on.

  9. I think that's a good point to bear in mind.. regardless of the purpose of timegates and arguing their validity as a game mechanic.. the result of it is more important.

We can certainly say that the their purpose was not to cause this kind of reaction.. so the mechanics should be retooled to produce the intended effect and get the result they wanted.

The people have spoken and their feelings are clear, there is no point trying to tell people that their feelings are wrong. The mechanic hasn't produced the desired effect for a majority of people, so let's rework it.

Instead of celebrating this final chapter in a long story and soaking up the new map and meta, we're all hyper focused on this issue.

Without the timegate, people might notice how incredibly short the story steps actually are, compared to the other story steps, and then also how limited the map meta is. There is very little here outside of the skyscale collection. Even the map feels a bit small, maybe because it's broken in to 3 distinct sections with one starting base, it's like half a dragon stand for size, and a quarter for meta.

  10. Hi [player_name]!

Your dragon is hungry, please feed him!

    Thank you!

Feed your dragon 9 more times get a special prize!

Oh, your dragon is full, please come back tomorrow to feed him again!

This is every mobile game I've ever played.

    The only thing missing is..

Oh! Your dragon is full, pay 50 gems to feed him now? Ok!

This type of achievement is setting a terrible precedent for future events.

Do this task 12 times but only 3 times per day..

When you say it out loud.. it just seems absurd.. and incredibly obvious where it has come from.

  11. @Victime.5413 said:Wow it's really strange for me to see people defend the mechanic that decide for you when you need to play and how you need to play. Are you coming here from mobile games? I want to decide for myself how I need to spend my time and It's only my decision how to go through content.Things like those collections is nothing but disrespect to my time. I never had those problems with GW2 and I never expected them. This is a really disappointing decision.P.S. And the collection is getting worse by the day. Now we have 3 more days. Or even 22 (if I am not mistaken) If you are not lucky to have some charged crystals or money to spend.

Exactly, it's a mobile game mechanic. Maybe this is the result of the the devs from those projects being brought over to here.
