However, these deserving people come from 2 groups which have been compensated differently: those who logged on Monday, and those who did not.

On the other hand, you have non-deserving players, who didn't lose any progress, or very minor one.

Once again, those people come from the same 2 groups, and have been compensated differently.

Now, if Anet cannot make the difference between those who lost something, and those who didn't, they cannot offer a different compensation. So they had to either give everyone both rewards, or everyone nothing. In the latter case, they have to restore lost things to players.

Now for the actual solution, since some people not deserving it received the mount anyway, and you obviously cannot take it away from them now, just go for the 1st option, and give both items to all players affected by rollback, so those who logged in between Friday and Monday.

This is the perfect comment. Do exactly this Anet, it is the right, correct, and only action you can do now.Last post from me, I still did not get the mount license, as I wrote, others who logged in at the exact same time as I did, who were not ingame during the timeframe stated by Anet, did not lose any progress at all still got the license.I honestly don't know whether I lost stuff from the Black Lion Trading Post or not, because I have several hundret different materials going through it all the time, but according to Anet, apparently I didn't lose anything. So Last words from me, Anet messed up big time and did not handle it well, just for this there should be another, honest apology.I do now know that I am not of value for Anet and will therefore not be a future customer anymore.I wish everyone good luck and a great time ingame.Maybe I will check into the game when the future Addon is on discont some time.Cya

  2. @Pomdepin.7068 said:Also, why is the bonfire given to all who logged in in the past 30 days? Those who didn't login this Friday and after, have not been affected at all, so why would they be given this exceptional bonfire?

They've made no difference here, while they clearly made a big one for those who logged on dead servers.

I mean, they send a joke item to one part, almost to make them more angry (for real Anet, no one want this bonfire), and one of the most sought after items to the other part of the players.

On top of that, players who played during the rollback have been compensated by recovering the items they lost anyway!

Cherry on the cake is those receiving double mails, compensation while in NA, or rewards despite not being logged in during said period. Even more reasons for people to feel left out.

exactly this why this whole situation is pssn me off so much

You may as well give up, right or wrong they will not change it, they will not even address it (the duplicate compensation, the f2p having to buy PoF to get compensated, the mistake they made in the first place, the reasons for the rollback, etc).

and this just shows how much anet actually cares for their players, not at all, so why bother and giving them money anymore? I honestly hope they just shot their second leg and won't get up of it again

BTW: GTA V Online has server issues, try to log in to get your extra free stuff, instead of stop annoying the server traffic.

@senki.1046 said:Anet made the correct decision. Not everyone should get the skin, only those who lost progress

then why did ppl got the skin who did not lose any progress? like my wife who tried to log in at the exact same time as I tried. way after the server issues 19:45 German time, which is 05:45 PM, which is one hour after the mentioned time frame for getting the mount.

they cannot check who lost progress on every account existing. too much effort. they need to make a decision and it was a reasonable one.

and thats where you are wrong mate, dont give one person stuff, and the other person not. either give everyone or noone

wrong, not everyone deserves the compensation and those who didn't get the compensation should accept it, cause it's only fair like this.

then why t_ do people get the compensation (mount) when they didn't log in during the issues, were never online and didn't lose any progress at all? Also, why do NA get the bonfire? they had no server shutdown at all. I got the same, like ppl who not had one day of not possible to play. That's the problem here, this complete mess that is Anet creating. They should have just give all EU the stuff they had in mind, or don't give anyone anything.Ppl who really lost something will get it back anysways. Also ppl used this to duplicate their stuff with glitches, still got a mount. It just doesn't work what Anet is doing. They need to F step up, say they messed up big time, apologize for how they handled this situation, AND FOR ONCE accept they did a bad job on this.

  6. whatever you guys are saying. My wife just got her free license, guess what: she tried to log in at the exact same time like I did. Monday 11.05.2020 19:45 German time. She couldn't get ingame, she didnt lose any progress, since she never was online. She got the bonefire AND the license. I'm sitting here with the lazy bonefire. I'll wait a bit longer, maybe it really just takes time to send out.

@"coso.9173" said:The Bonfire is the compensation for the downtime. Everyone who was affected by it got it.

If it was indeed for the downtime, why is it explicitly stated that you get it for having logged in anywhere in the last 30 days?

While we are at the topic; It is now well over day later and a friend of mine who has been doing every SAB daily since the 14th, minus may 11th, has neither received a bonfire or a mount skin. So either that "compensation" is taking ages, or its not working properly.

Anet is making negative news over and over again, it almost seems like they don't want to continue gw2 any more by crashing it against a wall. Sure there is a new expansion coming, but they give a shift about the player base.Long wished feature comes out after 3 years of development, is bugged @f, way worse than the fan made addon that exists for a long time, put parts of their in house feature behind a paywall and do not say anything about the huge backlash they got.Same will happen here, everyone who didn't get the mount won't get it in the future, probably never will, because he/she is fed up about how Anet handled this whole situation.I and everyone I know didn't get anything at all as well, no fire (which is just taking space in inventory and/or a lame a buff that is worthless anyways), no mount.

Anet is making themselves very unpopular, but it would be so easy to outstand the majority of the other mmos by doing just a few little things, at least for some time until other mmo devs starting to do the same. One thing would be to communicate openly and very regularly or listening to their community.

I am starting to make big money for the first time in my life after being broke for long time due to study fee and stuff. I already planned to put 150€ to the side, just for gaming (games, hardware and stuff), each month and since I mostly played gw2, and I actually forgave them how they handled build templates, I was about to spend most of this money on gw2, heck I was about to spend shift ton of money on the build templates. But what just happened now shows me that it just isn't worth it and I'm actually quite happy to see what the player means to Anet. It's like giving another try in your relationship, but the other person just dumps you real hard over and over again, you know for sure it's over and not worth it to keep trying. It just opened my eyes and shows me that I still have to wait for the mmo that really fits to me.

But if you didn't log in earlier, you were not affected by the rollback the same way as people who did.Why do you feel entitled to the same kind of compensation as them?

They surely should have given something better than that bonfire to compensate for the downtime, tho.

The majority of people only lost a couple gold and some time. SOME people lost Leggys and so on - but SOME duped!

Anet is ALSO restoring those losses.

So stop acting like people who missed an ENTIRE DAY OF PLAY after 2 days of laggy mess didn't also lose out. >:(

    ^ This

All that we can hope for is, that Anet FOR ONCE sees what they did wrong, really says sorry, listening to their community, gives something to them without leaving someone left behind, learns from their mistakes and continue as an awesome company that loves and cares about their community. If this happens, I will personally go to their studio and apologize infront of the whole staff for the angry words and feelings I have towards Anet and their current management with the community.Till then, have fun everyone who can still have fun with the game, I'm heading off of this mess of a community management until there is an official statement.

  8. @Lascax.2163 said:Lesson learned: next time major issues happen, login ASAP hoping to get major compensation.

I'll try to not be again so conscious to stop myself and friends from logging in to avoid ANet's any issues. I'll clog the servers like the others will.

^ This.I honestly don't get how devs having a solely digital product are so scared of giving away a digital gift. Who t _ srsly thought it's a good idea to separate the playerbase like this? Why don't just give everyone a small gift, a small treat, a small thank you for being part of our community. It's not that Anet would lose any money of it, ppl not spending money wouldn't do it now because of the new license. Ppl who occasionally spend money on gw2 would still do.

You will get the bonfire not the mount skin. Those who logged in during the window will have had any playtime, achievements, loot, gold etc gained wiped from their account. That’s who they aimed the compensation at

so my full monday where I was about to farm and get my weekly black lion key will not compensationed? I really hope for this:

@Illumine Sparkler.6019 said:There is also the group of people that stayed online to play for the fun of it and didn’t get anything.

The compensation is still in progress as far as I can tell. It can take a long time for things to filter through such a massive mail out

    You will get the bonfire

If you had logged in, got your key and then it got wiped then you would have got the licence.

till now, I got nothing. Will wait what it actually will be. if it is like you say and it is just the fire, I'll be gone, because it shows me anet gives a * about me as a player.Because, how should I know I had to log in a bit earlier, when it was still possible. The loss is still there, because I didn't have the chance to get what I usually get in that time.

    That's what I'm thinking. :)

^ I honestly hope for this.

When you have the privilege to maintain digital stuff, you can actually easily become beloved by your whole playerbase. You have the chance to give out free digital stuff for million of players without losing any money at all. It would maybe even motivate some ppl to spend money to get even more of what you got for free.

  12. @Rubi Bayer.8493 said:Hi, everyone,

Thank you for all the constructive feedback you’ve provided about templates. We’ve spent a lot of time reading and discussing your thoughts, and we’ve identified a few updates we feel confident we can start working on.

Here are the pieces of feedback we’re currently working on addressing:• Automatically switching build and equipment templates when a character enters or exits PvP and WvW. We’ll need to make updates to this functionality to further integrate templates with PvP.• Ease of swapping legendary equipment between characters.• Greater flexibility when making experimental changes to templates.Because we have limited time to program, test, and implement these changes before the winter holidays, we’ll be able to give you a progress update early in the new year.

We’ll keep reading your feedback, so please continue to share your thoughts as you play with templates.Thank you!

You guys didn't really listen do you? REMOVE THE PAYWALL

exactly this! and it is not difficult to do! You just give out an infinite amount of template spots for everyone, give everyone their gems back and also gift every player around 500 extra gems. Then you improve the template system, remove the "armor" templates, done.Everyone loves you

  14. Way too disappointed! People already had a shift tone of criticism during the build template live stream and you did NOTHING, you kept everything as it was, that is LAZY and not nice for your comunity. Three build templates for each character is just a kick in the face, you know why, because we already had them! Pls give us 3 templates for EACH MODE, or at least two templates for each mode. I don't freaking need my WvW build selectable while playing pve, I just DON'T.It just has to be said, you are just GREEDY, nothing else!

Also it is way too freaking expensive. 300 gems for an additional build template means 7200 gems to get all 6 build templates for 8 characters. This makes 100€. NO EFING WAY!
