I looked at the crafting tree of  the new Legendary Relict in gw2efficiency.

It needs 18'750 Pile of Lucent Crystal (that are 75 Stacks) which are 187'500 Lucent Mot (750 Stacks)?

That's 37.5 times as much as is needed for a legenday rune! Really? Is this a bug or crazyness or do we get a 20k material storage expansion and a stack size increase to 2500 and a crafting speed increase by factor 10-100 soon?

And it's a pseudo legendary that will require you to unlock all the new relics introduced after Sinks of the Objects.  I mean Secrets of the Obscure.

    • Mystic Forge stones: are mostly useless, and we already get them through achievemnt chests
    • Name change contracts: are rarely used by the majority of the playerbase, and not something that should be regularly available through the WV, and too niche as a seasonal banner item.
    • Additional crafting licences: similarly, can only be bought twice per account and are not something that needs to be available through the vault
    • Mount Adoption licences/Skin Vouchers: the vault already has mount, weapon, and armor skins available; the existing mount adoption licences and gem store skins are regularly available at sale prices, all you're asking with this is to further de-value the gemstore.
    • Equipment Templates: this one i do agree with, i would prefer this in the Vault over the Build storage templates
    • PvP/WvW potions: utterly useless

How can you in one stance against adding Gem Store exclusive items claim that adding them to the Wizard's Vault would devalue the Gem Store, but right after say you want a Gem Store exclusive added to the Wizard's Vault?

Just because you find no use in an item doesn't make it useless.

Adding WvW potions to the Wizard's Vault would allow the gamers that do not want to WvW a way of obtaining their Gift of Battle for their legendary.

I would uninstall if i had to suffer ow exploration every time for GoB instead of getting it in a day while farming loot bags

I wasn't saying to remove it from WvW. I would rather get two GoE than one of each, but for those who prefer suffering through map completion then they have that option. And, to make it fair to WvWers, they can add a Map Explorer reward track that gives a GoE. 🤣

That's pretty much each announcement in a nutshell, was the same with the relic system. We got a sample of 3 or 4 relics at best. Since they haven't elaborated any further on this, with less than a week to go for launch this is probably the information we get until then.

But if you think you are going to get the same amount of rewards just for logging in you are going to be very disappointed. As for the karma and other things for actually doing dailies, anybody's guess.

I don't think it will be the same. I want them to come out and tell us straight up what we will be losing with this new system, and for them to stop tiptoeing around this change to something that has been in the game for almost 9 years.

I've been keeping an eye on the discussion and can clarify a couple more things quickly. The Wizard's Vault is not a 1:1 exact copy of the existing system. Our goal is for the Wizard's Vault to build upon the current rewards system, offering you more flexibility when choosing your rewards, and a wide variety of rewards earned through gameplay.

You'll be able to experience it firsthand in less than a week--we're almost there!

Y'all should have shown the rewards section of the vault. This was a useless blog post. It didn't really say anything different than when it was announced at the end of June. The only meaningful addition was a screenshot of the Weekly tab. There should have been much more information with such a big overhaul to a fundamental component of the game. We should have been shown what the new Dailies tab and the all new Special tab will look like. We should have been yolf how many Daily tasks will we be given to choose from, and how many do we need to complete in a day to max out the Astral Acclaim for the day. We should have been told if the Daily tasks have the same rewards as they do now, such as Sips of Liquid Karma, Writs of Experience, Badges of Honor, Potions of WvW Reward, Mist-Hardened Lockboxes, Potions of PvP Reward, Shards of Glory, etc., or if those rewards have been completely replaced with Astral Acclaim. We should have been told how the Wizard’s Vault Daily Completionist achievement is different from the current Daily Completionist achievement. We know we will still get the 10 AP if not capped, but what about the 2 gold? We should also have been told how many Special tasks will there be at one time, and how often will they be refreshed. We know that logging in will award 5 Astral Acclaim, and now know that the Wizard's Vault is not a one for one copy. So, during a 28 day cycle for logging in we are given: 20 Mystic Coins, 35 Laurels, 2000 Luck, 10 Tomes of Knowledge, 4 Gem Store items, 3 Transmutation charges, Several crafting materials, 1 Account Bound piece of Equipment of Exotic Rarity, 1 Celebration Booster, 1 Chest of Loyalty (choice between 8 Obsidian Shards and 7 Mystic Clovers, 20 Laurels, 6 Tomes of Knowledge, or random Ascended crafting material) , and 2% permanent increase to account gold find, what from that list can we expect to be able to obtain with 140 Astral Acclaim?

It would be nice if y'all decide to do a live stream showing this new system. Y'all were all about some live streams with End of Dragons, but with this expansions y'all want to hold your cards so close to your chests y'all can't even see what you're doing.

  6. You seem to be confused as to what "pay-to-win" and "pay-to-progress" mean. It doesn't mean that you are using in-game currency. You are using in-game currency and items to acquire the item, not real-world currency to obtain them. Unless, you would rather swipe a card then spend time collecting the required materials to craft or farm the gold. That decision is on you and not the game forcing you to do so.

So, that "pay-to-win" and "pay-to-progress" argument is lost on a lot of people here, because GW2 is very much not a "pay-to-win" game.

I feel for the people who were told to just get rid of their old ascended gear when we got the armoury, one savaged ascended armour set gives you more than enough for the weapon and clears space in the bank too.

    👍

They should allow the Balls of Dark Energy (that are obtained from salvaging ascended gear) to be converted into Research Notes like ascended gear.

  8. They are running the EoD dailies similar to how they do the festival dailies. After completing the EoD dailies 5 times, you get a weapon choice chest. I don't see them merging EoD dailies with regular dailies because of that.

This was the only mention in a blog post of the new stat combinations that I can remember, which does say Legendary items would have the ability to be stat selectable. Am I missing a different blog post that you're referring to?

I believe it was Rubi who said pretty much the same thing in a Guild Chat.

I want more stupid achieves.  For example, like the drinking one.  I was so disappointed that there isn't an achieve for highest fall damage.  Or highest damage to a white, harmless mob.  We need more stuff like that.

There is an achievement for dealing a lot of damage to ambient creatures. The achievement is Master of Overkill. And.... it is a 0 point achievement.

Im not going to argue with someone who thinks that buying a car for 100 grand or buying the exact same car for 250 grand is a difference of "how to play the game". I'll just let your statement speak for you.

That is a total false equivalence. You are comparing a whole (the car) to a part (a single reward from an achievement chain).

But, let’s try to play with that example: There are so many factors that go into determining the value of a car. First attempt. One person could buy the car right off the factory floor and pay 250 grand for it, then some years later another person buys it for a depreciated value of 100 grand due to there now being mileage on the car and maybe some damage. But, that example doesn’t work here. Let’s try another. A car is put up for auction and one person values the car at 100 grand, while another values it at 250 grand. That’s a little closer, but doesn’t work. Why doesn’t it work? Because, the car is not analogous to the 32-bag, since you are saying there is another option to obtain more inventory space.

A better example is: Do I want to buy another two-seater car and hitch it to my other two-seater car or spend a little bit more, get rid of my two-seater and buy a six-seater car. (Thinking about a Miata being towed by another Miata is kind of humorous)

You seem to want it broken down monetarily, so I’ll do that for you. Here is the cost analysis at the time of this post. According to the wiki, crafting a Reinforced Boreal Trunk will cost you 154g 26s 26c. According to GW2Spidy, the conversion of gold to gems is 26g 47s for 100 gems. So to get 400 gems you would need 105g 88s. Searching for the cheapest 20-slot bag came up with the Simple Boreal Canteen, which costs 10g 10s 11c. In total, you would be spending 115g 98s 11c to get a new bag slot and 20-slot bag. Which is cheaper than the Reinforced Boreal Trunk. But wait, the Reinforced Boreal Trunk has 32 slots, while the Simple Boreal Canteen only has 20 slot. So, let’s find the cost per slot. Cost per slot for the Simple Boreal Canteen is 5g 79s 91c, and the cost per slot for the Reinforced Boreal Trunk is 4g 82s 07c. Whaaaaaa!? The Reinforced Boreal Trunk is a better deal!? Crazy.

Yes, the Bag Slots Expansion have gone on sale before, but that doesn’t mean that they will again or for the same discount. If you weren’t wanting to wait to expand your inventory space, right now the Reinforced Boreal Trunk would be the best option.

What I was trying to convey in my original response is that the achievements offer other rewards than just the 32-slot bag. As a skin collector, AP chaser, and someone working on Frostfang at the time, the three bags that were rewarded for doing the achievement chain was icing on the cake.

  12. Sounds like OP is upset that his friend didn't see how to play the game the same way he wants to play it, and is trying to blame ANet for not having the same philosophy about achievements for their disagreement.

Over the three achievements (if all three are completed) it takes to acquire the 32 Slot Boreal Trunk, you also obtain 127 AP, a 20-slot bag, a 24-slot bag, a Gift of Ice, and unlock over 40 weapon skins.

Sounds like someone is missing the forest for the trees.

  13. When you equip a legendary rune to a piece of armor that has a regular rune equipped, does the legendary rune destroy or unequip the rune in the armor?

I was thinking that the rune was destroyed, but wanted to make sure before I crafted any legendary runes.
