Both the Pit Fighter armour and the Gladiator armour could be interpreted as bikini armour by people sensitive to that subject manner.Never seen a butt flap on a bikini, our definitions might be different. /shrug

It's actually possible for medium armour to be revealing. There is one medium trousers skin (medium Vigil's Honour Leggings I think) that's just leather underpants with some straps on the legs. And the Viper's armour'"trousers" are just a miniskirt. If you combine one of those with the Human T3 cultural chest piece or the Sylvari cultural "Evergreen" chest piece, you can get somewhat close to bikini armour. There probably are more combinations to get medium armour to be revealing, but I only remember those.I never said revealing, i said "bikini armor". My thief wears human cultural chest with magitech legs (all armor aside from magitech have knives/daggers on them as is her theme). Some would say those two together, is on the revealing side, but it's hardly bikini armor. Also a skirt =/= bikini. Closest to it would be the Bear Ceremonial, and even that is a stretch for bikini armor. Simply put, this game doesnt really have it. It's not to say there aren't some that are revealing and show some skin instead of a person in MOPP4 all the time, but they are a lot fewer of those than full body skins, especially in medium armor.

Please show us this "metal bikini" in GW2. Many games have done this for at least one set of armor (it's a timeless classic in fantasy, for good or ill granted). I have not seen it in GW2, curious what their iteration would be. The only guess i can say for sure is it is not gonna be found on medium armor...it's too anti-trench coat.

If they create a mainhand weapon, then the number of skills is higher than for an offhand weapon, requiring 6 skills to get designed (auto attack, stealth attack, skill 2 and 3 (if wielded without offhand), dual wield skills for dagger and pistol respectively).

Meanwhile the implementation of another 2handed weapon requires the same amount of skills to get designed like if they created a singlehanded mainhand weapon: 6 (auto attack, stealth attack, skills 2, 3, 4, 5).....So in other words, as long as Anet doesn't give thief a dual wield (like spellbreaker got with dagger), there is no additional workload for them.So 5 and 6 are equal for work load to you?Fine. Whatever.Argue with yourself.

  4. I'm a bit confused by this. Single hand weapons don't require any more skills than 2-h weapons do, right?

    Off-hand: (2 skills for slots 4 and 5) + (3 DW skills for s,d,p) = 5.Main-hand: (2 skills for slots 2 and 3 w/o OH) + (2 DW skills for d,p) + (Skill 1, technically 3 skills if chain) + (Stealth attack) = 6 or 8.2-hand: (4 skills for slots 2, 3, 4, and 5) + (Skill 1, technically 3 skills if chain) + (Stealth attack) = 6 or 8.

For thief adding main hand or off hand adds more then just a single skill set.It also changes the 3rd skill depending on the combination being used, as each specific combination is unique. So it means adding a skill for each weapon that already exists, so they would add another skill for dagger, sword, pistol. In short they wont just add the weapon and one set of 3 skills for primary or one set of 2 skills for OH.

Simply put, while there may be no precedence as another poster put it, adding a single weapon for thief is "more work", thus i conclude them adding a 2h weapon as they have done in the past. I did forget the war hammer, so there are still 3 they could add (not 2). I personally think this is more likely to happen over them adding a single handed weapon.

Again, this is my speculation, i could care less if people agree with it or not.

  5. If Anet keeps their theme for Thief, we'll get Long Bow, they do not seem to like adding single hand weapons to us, as it has to be built out to include all previous weapons (S3)

So basically we are left with either Long Bow or Great Sword.I'd actually be fine with either, but just my speculation on it.

  6. Amusingly enough, being called "Commander" is discussed in one of the stories.Your character actually brings up that you are no longer the Pact Commander or in the related military (anymore), and that your character questions why people are still referring to you by that title. I won't spoil that particular episode, but suffice to say, it was used as a story point, for why the "player character" is still called the Commander. In lore, it makes perfect sense.

TL:DR: If you actually go through the story, they TELL you why you are still referenced as the Commander.

  7. As Anet seems not interested in giving single hand weapons due to how thief mechanics work, we got 2 choices left: Great sword and Long Bow. Given that rifle was most recent, Long Bow doesnt seem as likely as Great sword.

Myself i'd like to see both are wrong, but meh, I'm not holding my breath.

  8. The only thing i don't get from other players here is the whole "Aurene was dying over and over" that occurred in Aurene's vision/prophecy.That did not seem to be a loop of endless death to me, but merely different scenarios that were tried, all resulting in the same.

-Tried by herself = failed-Tried with commander and friends = failed-Tried with Pact aid from the ground = failed-Tried with Pact aid from the sky = failed.

All the failures shown were slightly different, but each failed and had the same final result, her death. So i do not think those visions were of her dying over and over, but simply the various scenarios she played out, all with the same result.Besides, to me, it would make more sense and is the reason for her being dispirited the way she was, cause she could see no way to over come no matter what her and the commander did.

And at this point, her vision did indeed come true. Since we don't know what Glint told her, we don't know if there is some other plan in motion that is meant for this to "help" in some way or get things moving in the right direction.

Edit: Pact* = not just the Pact, but all allies or various combinations there of.

  9. Account bound for some items i have no issue with.Time gated however is a different story. The argument players are giving that it should be there seem to miss the fact that time gate or not people will stop playing because it becomes unfun. The unfun i found with the first expansion made it almost a 2 year break, and i was far from the only one to take such an extended break due to the massive amount of time gating added to the game.

I remember when people stated "No we don't want mounts" and at one time it was prominent in the community. Now, not only have mounts been added, but yet another time gate that many find annoying.

People are going to play the game, and go through it's content, they will either keep playing after experiencing that content or leave. How fast this occurs doesnt really change anything, cause people will keep playing due to the enjoyment of the game, or they wont. Just because that fractal player had to grind a dungeon a hundred times, doesnt mean they are leaving the game the moment they get the gear. They simply move on to the next challenge/goal or task they enjoy doing (w/ hopefully much less repetition). PvP'ers don't leave the game the moment they win a match, or because they got an item the finally wanted. The point is people will keep playing, they may change game modes for something new, but they are going to keep playing cause they are having fun. Time gates rarely enter that equation unless it causes undo frustration, which can and does happen as well.
