Again, I agree that mesmer has problems outside of rifle, but the fact that mesmer can only be used in ONE type of content as a healer is rather underwhelming since that content is only Raids, and maybe some strikes that do not require the stability sharing capabilities of FB/Rev, and believe me, as a former mesmer main I tried all kinds of builds/utilities in all kinds of content, and I think I have enough playtime on mesmer from the old times to be able to pull off mesmer correctly, and aside from low tier/low KP fractal runs mesmer is just incapable of upkeeping a decent uptime on boons aside from bosses due to the lack of clone generation, in harder strikes the limited capability for stability hurt the group, and in PvP playing mesmer with riffle is a pain

You are entirely wrong about that. Mesmer can bring just as much if not more stability than FB/Rev  and it is perfectly capable of upkeeping a PERFECT uptime on boons even in down phases. If you truly think so then you clearly did not try out every build/utility as you said you did.
I play mesmer for over 8 years and I have ZERO issues in ANY PvE context to heal, give barrier when needed and upkeep my boons.

If after posting other healing weapons you still think rifle is good theres nothing I can do to help, so I'll spare you a wall of text.
But then again since you mention fractals I guess you're a pver, so whatever.

As you are so adamant that rifle is garbage in competitive mode and we are clueless PvE'rs then please elaborate to us why. With numbers, preferably so we can understand the full scope of how bad it is compared to other healers (and please don't come with mobility, you don't need that in a zerg much and going heal as a roamer makes hardly any sense).
The points Passerbye brought up don't seem to be too different between WvW/PvP and PvE.

"So we decided to restructure and focus it more on PvE content" - this is a quote from you. It's fine, it's a good PvE weapon and I agree with that but it's an awful PvP and WvW roaming weapon. It's better for zergs than staff, at least till it gets nerfed because ANet only thinks about zergs and removes chaos armour.

Correction: this is NOT a quote from me. I haven't said that.
And I do play PvP and Wvw occassionally but why would you even run a support weapon if you are a) not playing a support class and b) not running in a zerg?
Again sounds like an issue of not knowing the class and which weapon choice goes well with which build.

It should have some kind of mobility on it but it doesn't, because it was poorly designed, poorly implemented, and fails at generally every task besides sustained healing

Other mesmer weapons don't have any mobility either but does that also mean that they are poorly design or are poorly implemented?

On competitive modes any class except maybe ele has more mobility than mesmer

Even on competitive mode mesmer has a kitten lot of mobility. Are we even talking about the same class?

Yeah you're right why would you want more mobility on a profession who has no access to swiftness/superspeed and has one port especially on a ranged weapon with no means to keep enimies at bay.

But mesmer has access to swiftness and superspeed? Swiftness via shield 5 or focus 4, superspeed via time warp and well of action. Sure superspeed won't be as high as on scrapper but where would you even need perma superspeed uptime except for some fractal mob skips?
Also mesmer can blink twice with mimic or even double portal if you again utilize mimic. There is no need for a weapon to port as well except for an emergency scenario (e.g. porting an ally back to the stack after they went to cleanse themself at Matthias).
Seriously guys, before making such wild statements just learn the class, read tooltips, try out what skills actually do what.

The complaints are about the sorry state of skills 4 & 5, the complete lack of mobility, and more.

Skill 4 is a very good CC skill and 5 gives barrier or a one ally portal. And why would you even need more mobility on mesmer? Most rifle skills are AOE and if you need to move you can still use blink?
Please do elaborate on the "and more" as well.

  8. Did you two (last repliers) truly try out mesmer in instanced content? I have no issue healing allies and myself even if every damage is 100% facetanked. You can even outheal Qadim 2 carpet which usually downs you within 1-2 seconds. If you think the skills aren't useful for healing and all then you truly just don't understand the weapon. Sounds like a skill issue to me and not understanding the how skills, traits etc interact.
Also: it was meant as support weapon and not as a DPS weapon.

Rifle mesmer is technically playable in a niche setting compared to those originally, but that doesn't make it a fun weapon nor a properly fleshed out one.

Rifle Heal Chrono is a very viable build in fractals, raids and strikes. You can even easily tank on it in raids including CM's. It's not at all technically playable in a niche setting and it is properly fleshed out. Studying and understanding the skills is all there is to it.

  10. Hello again!
Our static is looking for a DPS player at the moment! Preferably someone that can do pull/portal mesmer on Qadim 1!

If you need additional info or struggle reading the above or just want to give our team a go (we will have a 2-3week trial), feel free to contact:
    TheLionguard.8604 or Alva.4590 in game!

  11. Mirage being worse than before November with those changes. GG anet.
It would be very justified though, if Mirage didn't have such a high skillfloor. Other classes are very easy to play compared to Mirage and hit 40k + very easily.
On Mirage you have to watch out for every little thing to do somewhat decent even.
In relation to it's difficulty the numbers past-patch will just not justify playing this class any further - again!

  12. Hello there!
We are newly formed static and we are currently looking for a pushkite (g2) for w5 and a dps pylon for w7!
    Additional info:
    General:

-We raid on Monday's (Wing 1-4 + 7 FC) at 18:00 CET and on Wendesday's (Wing 5+6) at 18:00 CET. (The Wednesday may vary to another date)
-We require full knowledge of your class, Wing 1-4 nm FC and good knowledge of Wing 5-7 nm's.
-Raid times: Monday at 18:00 CET 1-4 + 7 nm FC; Wednesday at 18:00 CET Wing 5+6 nm FC
-We will not call out every single mechanic in VC, but more the important call-outs and hiccups.
-Joining VC is a must and if you play a special role you need to feel comfortable to make important call-outs. Otherwise talking is voluntary, but very much appreciated if you do!
-Be ready to gear and fill roles if needed.

    Progression:
-First we focus on getting smooth NM full clears. Once the NM FC's are clean we move on to CM's
-Our aim is to clear all raid CM's! (might skip MO CM because of rng)
-At some point we will start doing Strike CM's as well, and eventually aim for HTCM

If you are interested you can DM in game:
    TheLionguard.8604 or Alva.4590

  13. Hello all!
Our guild has been quite inactive in the past couple of months as we took a direction that didn’t really suit the nature of a video game. So we decided to restructure and focus it more on PvE content!
We hope to include anything from open world events to raids. A mixture of more casual and end game content is the goal.
Of course we are just a handful of people organising some events at the moment so we are looking for people who are willing to offer and lead some events and for people who would love to join and participate! We welcome every player who would like to join a cozy community and just have fun while we goof around Tyria. No matter if you are young, or old with cracking bones, a new player or a veteran player. We have a spot for everyone and offer a welcoming and helpful atmosphere. Not only in the game but also in our discord!

If you are interested you can send either of us a message (or a whisper!) in the game and then we can welcome you to [TCC] - Tyria’s Cozy Corner!

So axe clones' bug just got hotfixed after 2 days but the dodge is still bugging on core content and the screen visual fx is not yet fixed after 3 weeks.

God forbid a bug is actually improving mesmer.

I'm so very glad they are so fast fixing mirage bugs. I just wish it would be those that make it just unecessarily hard to play mirage, instead of a bug that improves it and lets it compete with Virtuoso. I mean comparing the skillfloor of the two classes and their damage output is just ridiculous.
And then people argue with "mirage was too strong on bosses that are affected by confusion". Makes me wonder: is it really good balancing if a class outperforms other classes only on a handful of bosses but is almost unviable on others? No, it's not.
