With the ability to go straight to world bosses due to the World Boss Portal Device I think its become easier to visit them all and thus a lot more of us there recently. Also a lot more people have realized which bosses have extra rewards - seen same sort of numbers for Karka Queen and how performance goes out the window.

  2. Currently we able to go to low levels due to the fact we get leveled down but still get the rewards of a lvl 80. I know there are complaints enough when a low level map is the daily and everyone goes to visit on how the new chars suffer to achieve anything. There are a number of people who do return to the maps doing things like world bosses but do know usually they looking at where get best returns.

@Gorani.7205 said:Question on "effective progression":I am at 441 right now and could turn in the last steps of the collection (which all give you 10 levels each), bringing me to 491. Does it make a difference for discovering 400 level food (to gain the crafting XP) to close the gap between 441 => 450 or from 491 => 500?

the gain from the collection is always 50 skill levels.

I meant, does the XP gain from Discoveries make a difference if you level from 441 to 450 or from 491 to 500?

Your one impact will be on the basic xp you get from making an item. If level is to large you wont get any basic xp and only get the bonus for the first discovery. Would recommend craft up to 450 (will get some of this by making the foods they request) and then cash in the 5*10 rewards.

Thank you for the bandit Side stories. Will have to check that out. Isn’t that Season 3 and not part of champion Rush ?

The bandits are all based in the core maps so they count towards the champion Rush. Have also seen that the Executioner also counts so think they will be well hunted.

  5. Think my greatest one was when in the Beta came out into the first zone as a Sylvari and realized the stunning graphics and then that could jump ... wow had to spend a while just watching the views.

Also fact that my pet was finally allowed to go every where with me. As a cat person also enjoyed finding all the spots that cats were lurking watching over the world :>

Loved being able to share the world with others and rushing to help each other - or the joy when you discover something you missed before because someone points it out.

Hats off to all the people who put in those slightly out of the way hidden stuff to surprise people :>

Just recently have enjoyed the 2 boat rides that I could find :> Fun to just be able to chill and watch the world go past especially if with friends after a hectic treasure hunt.

  6. ANet decided that you can get living story episodes one of 2 ways - either unlock for free by logging in while it is the latest episode or buy later for gems. Gems can either be bought directly for cash or via gold. the gold to gem rate can fluctuate a lot depending demand and around sales is most expensive to buy for gold. If gold takes time to earn would suggest looking at the skyscale as a long term goal as I think there is a lot of other things that you will also be exploring as a returning gamer. Suggest looking through the wiki to see what all is needed and then you can pace yourself.

Best of luck with your journey and have fun times.

Hi @Vavume.8065 Just watch to see if the blue bar one you skyscale is empty. Can happen if to high or you used the climbing option to often. If the blue bar is empty you will drop to land unless you can land somewhere high to recharge it.

  8. @Kelpersey.7614 said:True. I guess I'm a bit impatient, but I'm also trying to get it done so I can focus on other things after I have surgery soon. It'd be nice to just finally play the story out again while I'm recovering.

Have you tried out the free Skyscales. Reason I ask that is that it method of flight might be suitable or not. Especially if there are certain actions that are not comfortable for you. It can be simple when just flying but the climb part might not be as comfortable. Also if you setting up a controller in general might see how well it goes with the Skyscale. I wish you the best with it and hope you able to adopt one.

  9. Used the Arena event to do this mainly. Helped if targeted ones that the group is working on as get more of them quicker. Think one round of 6 bosses was enough to get the target. Helped when was doing it for multiple achievements (mobs and rounds of bosses). Stampede did find less reliable as can't always get to them while they still have the mobs left. Would sometimes tag one and then dash to the next area hoping to get ahead of the swarm.

  10. I think the fact that these updates are know to usually be at this time and fact that you have a 2 hour window after the update has allowed many people to plan their events around it. I know that usually the 6:20pm (UCT+2) ley line the commanders remind people not to reset until after the event. Also some of the updates help start off an event and I think many people would rather get in as fast as possible. Part of reset is that we know patches are close to it and can thus plan accordingly.

  11. Usually for this there would be an update and you get a mail. Soon 4pm UTC time usually. Also if you sit in the area you might not even see it till the new instances are loaded (if no patch needed) or once you rebooted to get the update. Then all the world boss trains will be heading that way - just don't get hurt in the stampede.

  12. Am sort of middle of road on this. Depends on how well they do the VR as for some people it causes problems like motion sickness. I do know that if they did get this right I would be to busy watching the scenery to get involved in gaming for a goo long while :> Makes me think of a series based in The World where everyone was linked into a VR game. Was a stunning idea and would love to see how something like that grew.

edit - was thinking of .hack//sign . Also realized that I would spend a lot of time on the ground as heights are already stunning enough in normal games - in VR think I might have to many heart attacks (guess would need a safety feature in case people believe the stuff to much).
