  1. From my experience (I don't have warrior, ele, rev), in terms of,Solo roam core Tyria : Ranger (soloed champion underwater under geared)Solo roam after expansion: Necro Reaper (that 300 ferocity while in shroud was the bomb!)

  2. I'm not skilled but you will go down so fast if you go full zerker, due to very low health pool and toughness. Most people in wvw are veterans, keep that in mind. I used to solo roam with core guardian before I changed it to Firebrand support for Zerg. I learned classes that I struggled with and that one class that will always whoop your butt. If you don't have wall of reflection in your utility, you will struggle and lose to Holos, Rangers and Eles. Thief was the most annoying class I've ever encountered. They will run away as soon their hp drops to 25%, and reset combat. Then they will come back for you again. One class I would definitely not! fight is the, Reaper. Core Guardian is a bruiser, Reaper is the better bruiser. Warrior comes second. Yours is a different story, since you're with a team. For me, I would drop radiance, replace it with Virtues. You either want Retaliation or meditation build, can't have both. I suggest having at least 20% concentration, if you go for retaliation. Try this,Zeal 1-2-2, Valor 2 -1-3, and Virtues 2 or 1 or 3-2-3. Your F1, F2, and F3 will all have retaliation. Shield 4 is your main source of Aegis and Retaliation (16 seconds). Optional utilities are "save yourselves" with 15 sec retaliation and Stand Your Ground with 7 second, assuming you have 20% concentration. Lastly, you F3 will become spammable, because of Tenacious Defense trait.

edit. I just checked the editor, come to think of it, you can replace one of the traits with Radiance for more damage. Zeal is important for Retaliation build, because of Wrathful Spirit. Aegis will provide you retaliation when it ends. Zealous Blade boost your Greatsword damage . Shattered Aegis is just a cheery on top.

  3. That's the problem with Gw2's class system. Unlike, other mmorpgs, there are trinity system. Majority of the people just wants to dps and share buffs.. When others wanted a specific class such as healer or tank class, it's frowned upon. The light class, is the one doing the tanking lol!. Mage class = melee class, lol!!. That is what's wrong with gw2 class system. I think traits should be changed, add 3 masteries like in league of legends (Damage, Defense, Utilities/Support).

  4. My first server was terrible, because it's not a new player friendly. Majority are veterans with full ascended or at least one legendary weapon. There was one public Commander in "Lose" guild, always overextending purposely only to feed us to the blue team (SoS). A lot was only looking for fights, not being in a guild was worse, because most organized guild ran tagless. I did stopped wvw, I will transfer to a better server and try wvw again.

  5. In my opinion, WvW sucks as a new player if you have no friends to play with, or nobody to roam with, and not in a Guild. Here what I have learned,

    1. Get the WarClaw Achievement as your first priority!.
    2. Find a guild that does WvW. Join their discord , and also your server discord, or any open to public.
    3. If you can't find a Commander Tag anywhere on 3 maps, then Roam with friends, solo or tag along with other people.
    4. Find Your Build that fit your PlayStyle. Go to Hearth of the Mist, learn the class skills, traits, elite spec, and test it.
    5. Watch YouTube or go to twitch, find gw2 that streams wvw or pvp. Ask questions!
  6. @DoRi Silvia.4159 said:How far did you get into PoF?I ask because PoF has some hard hitting mobs later in the story similar to those in HoT and they hit like a freight train (debatable but I found HoT mobs slightly more challenging)

I suggest to just play through with the class you like, give it a go and see how it turns out because there really is no answer. HoT demands a lot more skill from players compared to the core game so it will require you to play your class effectively and move around alot more to avoid being rekt

I first played through the whole expansion in a warrior (after leaving the game for 6 years) and it was very forgiving but I still downed a died alot. I imagine if I had played it in a light armor class I would have doubled or tripled those death counts..

no reply options, that's odd. I got to the first Volcano/desolation and got 3 mounts. I will probably create a necro and boost it to level 80, but I don't know where to go from there.

  7. I did Path of Fire first for the mount. Now I want to start doing the main Hot quest next. I want to know which 3 class struggle the worst there?. I have a lvl 8(80) Guardian, a level 80 Mesmer(no elite yet), then a level 57 Ranger. I thought I felt slightly stronger with Core Meditation Guard. That's because I'm new with Firebrand, and need to learn the common rotation. Ranger was a breeze in open world compare to my Mesmer that I suck with.

  8. I've been roaming in wvw, but I want to do more group content. The problem is in 15 man to zerg fights, I tend to lag. When a group of 10 on me or it's start getting clustered, my screen will either freeze for 3 seconds or I can't move my character, because of lag. I'm looking for a class that can survive pretty well during 15 to zerg fights.
