I was referring to those that support the teams, players are just a bunch of mercenaries, that come and go, they are like the gear that we buy and sell - few of them show club loyalty and retire with the same club where they started their carrier.

  2. I read in chat all kinds of excuses as to why this is done and not a single one made sense. The wvw is like the professional teams sport rivarly - Red Sox vs Yankees, Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Boca Junior vs River Plate, Tottenham vs Arsenal, etc. - these rivalries are the driving force behind these sports. By "refreshing" things a bit you are destroying that rivalry, and you also destroy the relationships that players from 2 or 3 different servers have built while being on the same team. What the hell is wrong with you?

I am not familiar with any site that can import character builds from the API, mostly because I've never cared enough about min-maxing, but the linked sites seems to be popular.

Being able to compare someone's build with your own is not "out-of-game", it's quite within the game.

Recreate your build there, make a thread in either the looking for help or your class forum and ask other players for help/ideas in optimizing your build.

As alternative you can also check on https://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki in the appropriate section for content/class which builds are up (often with descriptions). Maybe give open world builds a try first if asking about general pve things.

While this is helpful I find it quite strange that the developers won't add this feature to the game's own website but rather allow a third party website to do that!

  5. Is there an armory on this website I would like to ask a question about my build? I think it would be much easier if I can just link my character rather than typing all the gear and skills I am currently using on him.

You just stated the obvious, that doesn't end the topic. The thread's suggesting to separate the weapons from their according elite specs, which is not inherently wrong.

Valid arguments here would be "It would be too difficult to balance" or "They should fix bigger problems first".

Thought that's pretty obvious here :D Especs are meant to be unlocked at lvl 80 and they "come in a package" with a weapon. There's no reason to suddenly make those weapons available not only outside of their especs, but also from the earliest levels.

I can't agree with "They should fix bigger problems first", because I don't think weapons being bound to especs are a problem in the first place ;)

especs shouldn't be tight to a specific weapon they should be weapon neutral, hence I mustn't use a specific weapon in order to use an espec, and from that follows that I should be able to use any weapon that are available for my profession starting at level 1.

  7. ...at level 1, there is no need to wait for 80 levels in order to use a weapon that for whatever reason, that you thought was valid, was locked behind an elite spec, for an example - hammer and sword for engineers. In fact that profession, can use only 2 weapons - pistol and rifle - for 80 levels! The supposedly smartest profession in this game can't seem to be capable of finding good use for the other weapons.

  8. When I use the crafting station, I would like the game to remember where I was in a tab before switching to a different tab. It's getting tiring of having to look again for the place in a scroll down list - a crafting recipe, a location in the bank where I have put a specific item, etc. The game shouldn't reset the tabs when switching between them.

In fact the game should remember the tab locations for each different character even if I close the crafting station and decide to log on a different character. That way when I craft items and I switch back and forth between characters with different crafting licenses I won't have to look for the place where I was before I close the crafting station.

This is the same as remembering the location on the map where my character was when I logged off, rather than resetting my location by sending me to Lion's Arch on every log in.

  9. It is very easy to solve that problem, the game can keep the soulbindness of the items, let's think of their intended use as helping the leveling player to get better gear, then if the intended reward is of lesser quality and the skin has already been unlocked, the character should receive extra money that would equate to selling that item to a vendor, not at the market, or an extra bag of loot, that way there is no fear that veteran players will keep creating new characters so they can run story line missions with the only goal to abuse the market. But I still don't get how can anyone try to use this path of enrichment that takes so much time to do that rather than just run around a zone and keep killing the champions that exist in the zone. Loot is so much easier to get that way, especially when doing lower level maps, when those champions can be single-manhandled, than to do long stories, listen to dialog and do all kinds of other activities, that aren't simple combat.

  10. Can't be sold, can't be salvaged, can't extract their upgrades to used them to upgrade another item, can't be used by another character, if I don't count that they may have a skin that I don't have yet, the only good thing that can be done with them is destroy them ! I'm doing the story line missions on a level 80 and all the reward gear items are soulbound, of lesser quality and good for nothing. WHY? Why would the game reward useless rewards?

  11. There are several features in the WvW play, that I despise, and the worst of all is the locations swapping.

You should designate certain servers to certain starting areas, and keep them like that all the time, so there is a sense of "the red part of the map belongs to mine and similar servers and we defend this land, and we try to reclaim what has been lost and conquer the middle and what belongs by right to the other two.

And people should automatically get added to the group and those who want to just roam and do their own thing should be allowed to opt out of it before they even join the game.
