Flying Nimbus is my favorite. Dyed mine gold and black to look like Nimbus from DBZ.

Would like to see a super hero cape to fly.

I have an asura that could make a fairly decent Batmanโ„ข if he had the cowl to go with the outfit. Granted the cape seems a bit plastic and stiff but it goes well with his current outfit.

  2. With regard to materials storage: Materials are not unique. They are all the same when in storage. The only increasing factor is/are the number of decimal places in the count quantity.

Personal and soul/account-bound items are the biggest limiting factor since each items is unique per character/account. Each dye-able item will have it's color settings as well.

  3. Still still a thing.ย ๐Ÿ˜… I can duplicate this issue easily, repeatedly without combat and build quickness up to 29 seconds (my gear probably helps with this), essentially perma-quickness. Although there have been times where I've seen it behave normally as intended. It's the lack of respect for the upkeep cost that's the problem. That should either keep it from building up and shut me down or make me work really hard to keep it going, IMHO.

Play how you want doesn't mean succeed how you want. It just means you have the option to play a bad build which the game absolutely allow you to. You can play a full shaman power deadeye with scepter if you want, that is definitely play how you want. It doesn't mean the game will cater you to the point that you can do literally anything and still succeed. What if I want to play a pure water ele and only use water skills because is my RP? I can definitely do that. Would it be a bad build especially if I can't handle it? Yeah. Would people laugh at me because I demand they make it work since I am sticking to my RP build. I mean yeah probably.

tl;dr: Be better or play a tankier build. Play how you want doesn't mean succeed how you want.

Umm...don't look at me. ๐Ÿ˜ Nothing to see here. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜

Funny you should mention Ice Elementalists. What with the ice chair, ice glider, snow diamond infusion and ice armor...who would play such a thing..?

Not like we have a molten chair, a geomancer (fire ball?) glider, molten infusion or fire armor...or...doooo weeee..? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ Though personally, I'm partial to ice. I wish our gear tabs included such things as gliders and colors.

It's good to haveย  multiple tools in one's toolbox for dealing with all manner of things (dual dagger fire rocks). I just wish there were more elemental or condition weaknesses in the game to make things more interesting. Maybe let elementalists buff other players with elemental damage. But that's just my opinion.

    Improvise, adapt and overcome.

With regard to missing...relics (golems?), wasn't it mentioned someplace that not all rune bonuses (relics) were released at launch? I should think that these would be coming back eventually.

  5. I expected the skin to be more in line with the Jade Tech Raptor Skin and outfit. Colors on those work as one would expect.

If the turtle skin is working properly and as designed, then I am very disappointed that it lacks consistency with the others in the Jade Tech line of skins.

Sadly, my engineer can't show off his turtle with Jade, Celestial, Antique Gold and Golden Sheen since everything but the Jade looks nearly black.

  6. A very nice, big chair. A lot of attention to detail. Some even think a bit noisy when players are eating noodles.

Personally, I think it should be able to share the "A Little Well Rested" buff with all those who sit with the owner. Or at least with party members who sit.

Also, more emotes would be nice. A "Shovel It In" emote for the big/fast eaters (Omnom Level 9000). A "Food Is Too Hot!" (either temperature or spicy) emote to take a bite and fan one's mouth/face, for example.

  7. I'd probably opt for the Asura golem tail prosthetic. ๐Ÿ’ญ

One that accepts attachments (and utility chips, like the Jade Bot does).

A grappling attachment...think Mission Impossible or the aim and grapple targeting we have in the game now. Can't remember off the top of my head in which season this mechanic was introduced. Probably would be banned in PvP/WvW areas.

Swimming attachment/chips...a paddle or motor of some sort for extra personal propulsion through/under water

  8. My vote/two-cents: ๐Ÿ’ญ

All dyed items should have their own pallets, per character.

Unless, of course, one chooses to randomize the colors as well. ๐Ÿ˜… Randomizing should still preserve the player's pallet and be temporary only. There have been some other good ideas here in this thread as well, like including pallets and appearances in a profile. Things such as the glider, mount, skiff, novelty, gathering tools and other choices to make a character unique.

I want to begin a journey with a character that uses no magic whatsoever, as I don't like those stuff. For instance, I know of the warrior class, and how very much melee and realistic they are made. What of engineer and that thief one? I know engineers have those potions, and whatever else, but I've realised that's something I can avoid using to be fair. And what of that thief one... I understand he is sort of like a warrior, but stealthy and more agile in his movement. Are his weapon skills like the warrior: hit-hit, no magic.

I'm aware of the lore in the game, so I know the role magic plays. I had a character levelled 80 and a few masteries earned on him.

My question is focused on a characters' skills, and play styles. Not the lore.

I hope I can get an advice from an experienced/knowledgeable player of Guild Wars 2.

Ultimately, I want to make my experience more realistic, while I am exploring Tyria. More realism in my characters (slash, bash, stab, shoot, and so on), and less fictional magic-blah-blah bits.

Please let me know if I am correct about the engineer class and that thief one there. Thank you in advance

Not sure if Shadow Stepping is a magic based skill or not. If not, it would probably qualify as a "physical skill" bordering on magical for a thief. Having said that, other professions Shadow Step with various abilities. One can imagine how they qualify to use such skills such as my Mechanist. Is it magic or science? Both? Urban legend? Hmm. If technology is based on magic as it's motive force (asura/pact tech, golems/mechs) , is it science?

    ย

I believe that EoD has a shadow magic based thief build. Never looked into it after all this time so I'm clueless on this. Something to look forward to perhaps.

  10. Not sure if it was ever mentioned (TLDR), but Fishing (End Of Dragons) can be done solo or as a group. Skiffs give an accumulating bonus to fishing power with a certain mastery provided by the skiff's owner. Groups can build this up faster but solo is just fine. At least I presume this is how it works. I've never fished in a group.

    ย

No big fancy rewards, just bragging rights and titles earned from fishing achievements. You'll probably end up with a lot of fish for making food as well. ๐Ÿ˜„

  11. It's been 10 years and we still don't have beachwear outfits or swimsuits.

    ย

Those T-Shirts and Shorts outfits come close. All we need are flops instead of boots/shoes. Maybe a sun hat. Gotta look good while sitting in those new Beach Chairs (multiple colors, collect them all). Get those beach emotes going. Drink a soda, have an ale. Sip it, chug it. Get drunk, swim funny (lose health while swimming and drown). Burp, puke, let it all out!

    ย

I think today is Random Thoughts Day. These have been some of them. ๐Ÿ˜„

  12. I would have preferred a toy (with emotes) to the emote itself.

    ย

It would allow us to wander to others and offer tea. Could even be made into an interactive experience with viral tea drinking emotes.

    ย

    Some example emotes:

    1. Prepare Tea
    2. Offer Tea (if other player accepts, emote 3)
    3. Serve Tea
    4. Serve Self
    5. End Service

The viral part being the player being served would gain access to the Tea Cup emotes, allowing them to do various sipping, much like the Teatime Chair. This would be non wandering unless the player has the Tea Cup toy. Some examples could include:

    1. Quick Sip
    2. Slow Sip
    3. Empty Cup (pour out, disables sipping)
    4. Ask For More (if served) or Make A New Cup (pull out a hidden pot of water, pour and add a tea bag, cup steams)
    5. Remove Tea Bag
    6. Put Cup Away (does 3, then stows the cup)

Just some quick thoughts anyway. Make of them what you will. ๐Ÿ˜„

  13. Ancient MMOs...

    ย

I played Ultima Online for years, as an adult.

    ย

Guess that makes me an ancient adult. LOLย  (though tempted to cry a little).

    ย

I also played Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, Star Wars The Old Republic (still have characters there) and a few others that I don't remember or are inconsequential.

Guild Wars 2 has been my latest and current fixation. Mainly due to it's subscription model...as in NONE. If I play, I pay, usually for gems for all of those wonderful toys. If I don't play, I don't have to worry about bleeding my finances during my down time.

  14. I have leftover lures.

    ย

Kind of like all of those gathering tools for volatile magic that I bought with karma before I bought the infinite ones. ๐Ÿ˜„

    ย

Also, another idea: Add a buff icon or effect whilst fishing with an infinite lure. Something purely for showing off. ๐Ÿ˜› A blinking icon or other visual icon over the bobber would be nice. Something to help keep track (visually) of it. An infinity symbol?

    ย

Edited to add: I like the idea above mentioning gathering tools. Fishing glyphs would add a whole new aspect to fishing.

    • +33% chance for an extra catch
    • +33% chance not to consume bait

    ...and so on. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Regarding the lure, shouldn't it be at least of rare quality?

    ย

This would prevent accidental deletion (over drag, drop and select the delete button) and it would make it look different from the other lures. As it is, it doesn't look special and blends well with my other lures.

  16. Fishing can be frustrating for those with poor reflexes. Enough beer makes invalids of us all.

    ย

Perhaps fishing accessories (I'm looking at you, Fish-R-Tron) could help by slowing down the fish or adding fishing power. ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. I would like to suggest further fishing outfit offerings. A leggings and boots skins set (either packaged or separate) suitable for a fishing outfit to go along with the current hat and vest/top. Heavy armor users don't have any/many options to create a proper fishing outfit appearance. New skins would help with that situation.

    ย

As an aside, more skins in general would also be welcome. Poles included (achievement awards? Contests?). Variety is the spice of life and some fish are definitely better when served spicy (thinking blackened catfish or flounder).

  18. Instead of a mobile game, I think a mobile companion app would be nice. It would enhance what we already have and could include such features as:

*Text chat with guildmates in game, see who's on (good for those not running Discord).

    • Shopping in the gem store or browsing the trading post. View your sales etc, no selling.
    • Character viewer. See and view your gear. Modify your colors. Edit your build templates and/or link them in chat. Basic hero panel support. Get ready for the big event when you get home. Choose when to apply or revert the changes.
    • Read and reply to game mail (no items or gold).
    • Game mail archive, text only.
    • A calendar feature for planned events or raids with location and item link support. Combine this with the Discord app and you have everything you need to keep in touch.
  19. I too have been noticing some shenanigans with weapon visibility. I also will mention that I'm in the general habit of sheathing my weapons manually before riding so haven't noticed the riding bug. But then I just started experimenting with these settings a few hours ago.

I've set all of my weapon slots to invisible (those that currently hold weapons, great sword and rifle). When my target runs away, I can switch to shoot them in the back with my invisible rifle. It looks like I'm miming the shooting.

Ok...after saying this, I'm deliberately trying to trigger this and the game isn't cooperating. It seems to be working.

Aha!! When I switch to my mace and shield ( 2, 1-handed), the bug manifests when I switch to my rifle (1, 2-handed) while in combat. That was the behavior I first noticed. So, posting this as is. :)
