As per the title. Weapons do not appear on my character model from time to time (either drawn or sheathed).

Unequipping, weapon/kit swapping/mounting&dismounting do not work.

Changing to a different weapon / using a different skin do not work.

    Changing a map fixes it.

I cannot reproduce it successfully so I don't know what causes it, but it happens all the time.

  2. It may be a mix of EoD zones being the new hype, as well as new zone player caps, but old maps from season 3 and 4 feel absolutely empty. Regardless of the time zone, whether that said zone is the daily or not, etc... Can't complete any group events to complete older achievements. Trying to get Aurora feels barren after the 4th failed attempt to find people for a group boss.

New zones, while looking cool, absolutely did not charm me the same way s3/4 maps did. Once you do 100% them, there's not too much going on around. Also the metas are extremely dull, with the exception of Dragon's End, but pugging that is just not worth it.

Played almost all new elite specs, and they are all performing worse than HoT/PoF elite specs. Maybe that says more about the previous elite specs being broken, but none of them have me going like "Oh man I'm having a blast".

Overall, this feels like a new living world episode rather than an expansion. The story - while generic - was great, the voice acting was absolutely stellar and I cared about every single one of the characters. It's just that after the story is done, there isn't much to do.

But that's OK. That's the beauty of GW2. I can just return in 6 months and I'll have (hopefully) tons of new content to experience, and I won't be massively behind anyone else. I just wanted to play this expansion a lot more.

Why are we still getting the alliance legends swapping to defense everytime i mount/dismount or come back to legend. Hope this isnt gonna be like this forever like the skills moving around stuff

I have seen zero acknowledgement from Anet regarding this bug. They haven't even fixed skill bar issue with revenant for 5+ years despite countless threads / bug reports about this.

The Alliance legend swap is even worse! Starting in blue is a huge dps loss. Even if you could spam F3 to swap to red on dismounting, you now have a 10 second cooldown on the swap ability, and you're probably missing the boons/endurance generation because you swapped at the beginning of the fight.

    Anet not fixing obvious bugs that has plagued Revenant for the better half of a decade means one of the two;

    • They are unable to fix the bugs because it just breaks something else entirely. This means Anet is aware but ultimately choosing not to fix the Rev bugs.
    • They are not even aware that it is buggy. Which means they cannot filter actual bug reports and/or reporting bugs is pointless.
  4. I'm dropping my revenant for EoD. It's not related to the sustain nerfs (although they do hurt), or the new alacrity limit, or anything else.

I'm simply fed up with the number of bugs that the Revenant has had for years.

    • Skills and legends constantly disappearing after entering a new map/dismounting/entering water
    • Specializations/Build & Equipment Templates (which is a paid service after the freebies you get, by the way) resetting randomly

To my knowledge, there has been zero acknowledgement from Anet over these issues and the forums are full of posts like these. I still hang on to my rev despite the bugs because I simply loved my Charr Revenant.

However the breaking point for me was simply the new mount/dismount Alliance Tactics swap bug. This was reported as early as December 1st in one of the betas, but of course the expansion launched with this bug. For those that do not know, with the new elite spec's Legendary Alliance Stance you can swap between Luxon and Kurzick (red and blue; red being offensive and blue being defensive). When mount and dismount again, it swaps back to the the blue one, which means you have to swap the stances to start with the red, putting a 10 second cooldown on the stance swap from the get go.

If Anet's treatment of existing skill bar issues (or lack thereof) is an indicator, this will simply be yet another bug on top of the already-existing bugs that has been plaguing Revenant for literal years. Such a shame. Here's to hoping that someone sees this, but I don't have high hopes.

What a bad taste to have for the launch of an otherwise good expansion.

  5. Went with Treasure Hunter (rank 2) and Jade Sliver.

Treasure Hunter is pretty great actually, gives me opportunities to sometimes go out of my way to open a chest, sometimes discovering other hidden lore stuff etc. Plus it's always great to open treasure chests!

Jade Sliver was kinda underwhelming, but I haven't started grinding yet. So far from the few story chapters only got about 20 slivers.

overall i like our little jade buddy. the masteries are also improving the use of the jade bot too, making it easier to use and more fun to use as well as giving use unique abilities (like an instant get up from being downed mechanic).

hate the battery part though. wild that they limited the scope of the game like that.

At the very least the batteries should

    • Persist their charges through maps/instances (maybe leave story instances out of this because of balancing reasons)
    • Waypoints should persist forever, until you replace them. Maybe it's a bug, but mine disappears frequently (on logging out?)
    • Increase the amount of battery charges hold and gained to 8-4 instead of 4-2.

Mounting up and then dismounting makes alliance stance always default to Kurzick abilities rather than remembering which skills were active before mounting up. Happens even if alliance stance was not the currently active legend when mounting up.

    This is still a thing.

Frankly after having countless bugs affecting revenant skill order/templates for years, adding yet another bug that is severely more annoying still not being acknowledged is pretty discouraging.

I don't think it would to be honest.

If it was an option you could toggle on and off at will then people would just keep relapsing into it.

And if it was something Anet would have to manually block your access too that would only cause major problems for them when some people relapse and start aggressively demanding access to it again.

Addicts are very difficult to deal with at times, i've got a couple within my family and i've seen how they behave when they decide to give up and indulge their addiction but are stopped from doing so.

I don't think Anet should be playing any kind of responsibility role in this regard for their own sake.
On one hand they'd just have people blaming them for taking away their rights/freedoms.. and on the other people blaming them for exploiting peoples addictions or at least indulging addicts who relapsed and being the reason they didn't recover.

It's simply far better for everyone if addicts themselves seek help and overcome their addictions.

I don't know why you are choosing this to be the hill you want to die on. We, the group of people who are suffering from gambling addiction, are asking for an optional opt-out for our own sake. Yet you, who (presumably) does not suffer from gambling addiction, are telling us that you know what is better for us?

I haven't gambled real life money with ecto-gambling, but I bet there are some who did. This doesn't mean that I should ignore their issues, a little bit of empathy goes a long way.

Your way of thinking just sounds like "you think you want this, but trust me you do not", but I really want to believe that you are arguing in good faith so I will reply to your points.

This could be a one-time, one-way only deal. With multiple "Are you really sure?" confirmation buttons. Once you lock the gambling mechanics for your account, that is it. Anet can (and should) ignore any pleas to reverse this.

This can be easily automated on the account level. Implementation in-game can be tricky (can Anet even disable a certain vendor for flagged accounts?), so I won't downplay the coding/testing that would be necessary for this.

I agree that addicts should seek help, but I would argue that Anet (and other gaming companies) should have either a legal or at the very least a moral obligation to do their part. Lootboxes are already illegal in Belgium, and we know that this is why buying gems and/or certain items is no longer possible in that country.

I can only hope that other countries will also follow suit (the recent legislations seem to work in this way, albeit slowly). Anet has a chance to show some goodwill and at the very least disable certain purchases/gambling mechanics (or "surprise mechanics" as EA likes to label them) for the people who are willing.

    -----------

I believe a day will come that having lootboxes in games will be akin to advertising smoking to children. Everyone is going to think "why the hell was that legal in the first place?".

  9. There are a plethora of items in Guild Wars 2. In fact, I would argue that the amount of items are sometimes a bit too much. I also understand that this is partially by design (to sell convenience items like shared inventory slots, bag/bank/material expansions), however I'd love for Anet to expand the current Account Vault (bank) even further.

    [Consumable Storage]

    Spoiler

The Consumable Category would house the majority of the consumables, with the following subcategories:

    • Nourishment; Food and Feasts

    • Enhancement; Utility Items such as crystals, oils, stones, etc and Potions

    • Boosters; XP/MF/Birthday boosters as well as Primers

    • Blueprints; WvW siege weapons

    • Miscellaneous; XP scrolls/Writs/Tomes, Tonics & Dyes, Maybe Salvage Kits

    [Trophy/Quest/Collection Storage]

    Spoiler

Coming back to the game after a long hiatus, or being a new player means that your inventory is constantly cluttered with dozens of trophy items. Constantly having to look up "Is item XYZ safe to delete" is exhausting, so I hope Anet can help divide these into appropriate subcategories:

    • Quest Items; Trophies for Renown Heart quests
    • Collection Trophies; All trophies that are either a part of a collection, or can be turned in to a vendor to unlock a collection go here
    • Decoration Trophies; For Guild Hall items
    • Lore Items; Books/items etc. that are rich in lore, but serve no in-game purpose

    Implementation Ideas for Consumable Storage

Similar to the Material Storage, the "free" version can start with having 250 units, which can be upgraded up to 2000 via gem purchases.

Just having these in the bank as new tabs would great enough as this would free up so many space in our banks. However we can go a step further! Introducing: Shared Consumable Storage™!

With this gem purchase, you can select a set number consumables in the Consumable Storage, which allows you to consume these directly from your inventory (up to 2 purchasable). Which consumable you appoint to these slots can be changed freely once you are at the bank. The slots can appear right next to Shared Inventory Slots, and can be used across all characters.

    ----------------------

What other categories would you like Anet to implement? I would love a "Gizmo" collection for gobblers, as well as a teleporters. Having to carry separate books/teleporters, as well as different gizmos is very clunky, so I think there's a lot of room for improvement here.

I cannot like this enough. I will never understand how people come to the conclusion that a psychological disorder can be switched on and off at will. It's not that simple, it never has been. People that think otherwise either lack empathy or education regarding said disorders.  Also, I never understood where the people get the audacity to start lecturing anyone when they don't know the first thing about said person.

Many people have a very dismissive tone when it comes to topics like these. "I don't have this issue therefore others simply shouldn't either" is the wrong approach to have to any kind of issue, be it gambling addiction or otherwise.

As harsh as it may seem and may suck for some people, the reality is that it is your problem, not everyone else..

We (at least I) are asking gambling mechanics to be blocked on our own accounts by opting into it. We are not lobbying for Anet to remove it entirely from the game for everyone else. This would literally have a zero impact on your end, but would help people who are having issues a lot.

  11. To OP and everyone else suffering from this.... I get you.

I have stopped playing this game 3 to 4 times now, all because of ecto gambling. I'm currently in yet another "stopped playing for a bit" period. I have long deleted the items you get from achievements.

I even went ahead and asked support to block these ecto vendors from my account and while they were sympathetic to my situation, they were unable to do so.

I have an addictive personality and I'm terrible at self-control when it comes to gambling. The only silver lining in this is that I've never gambled in real life (nor have I bought premium currency> convert to gold > gambled in any other game), but somehow GW2 gambling really hooked me quite a lot.

First time I hit the jackpot (2000g), and managed to buy lots of bank space/bag slots, convenience items from gold>gem conversion. Afterwards I went from 300g to 6000g in gambling, and just didn't stop. Hitting literal 1g after huge losses made me uninstall the game right there.

This pattern repeated itself a couple of times, I would go in, play the game a bit (I haven't even finished all the living world stories!), but get the urge to gamble, do so, lose, quit.

Final straw was me selling my entire raw material stash just to gamble more, and eventually losing it all. I deleted the game once again and haven't touched it for 4-5 months now. As one can imagine leaving this game in such state of mind is a terrible aftertaste. It was also a scary moment as I noticed that this is how gamblers lose everything they own (in real life). I was glad that this game was not real life.

I want to come back to the game because I truly enjoy it. I want to see the end of the story! Also I loved GW1 so the upcoming expansion with Jade Sea (as well as amazing sea turtles) sounds way too much fun! I just have this nagging feeling at the back of my head; am I going to do the same cycle over and over again?

I do realize this is a "me" issue (despite the fact that there are surely others like me around), and other people may brush it off by saying "just don't do it". I also acknowledge that this is the risk with gambling.

I just wish that gambling was not in the game, or at the very least have support disable purchasing certain items/interacting with certain vendors at the request of the account holder. This is already a thing in other games (GGG will let you block buying "mystery boxes" in Path of Exile, and those are direct store purchase!), so I hope Anet can help people like us.

  12. Hey all, greetings from Japan!Long time GW1 player (Proud holder of "Ascendant" title!) here. I'm back at the game after a long hiatus of 6 years. I had to quit the game for personal reasons back then, and always wanted to come back. About a month ago I bought the expansion, got myself few hundred gems for shared/bank/bag/character slots, and I'm enjoying the heck out of my Necro right now. There is so much to do! Reaper is great fun and to go with the whole class fantasy, I have foolishly decided to create a [Twilight].

Screenshot proof with GW2 Toolkit showing current date and item progress.

I'm accepting any help in any shape of form. I'm on North America server, and username is same as my forum username (Angelissa.8409).
