Even though the login problem is fixed, I'm having some ping issues; I don't know if its related.

Centuries later, historians descended from the few survivors of that fateful October day would come to understand that the catastrophe that befell civilization began with a mysterious connection issue in an obscure online game known as Guild Wars 2...

Me too, but at least I know now its not an issue at my end. We'll probably just have to wait for the problem to be fixed.

Those cutscenes worked best when you took all your clothes off first.

Perhaps Rytlock is subtly trying to tell you to stop playing bearbow?

For some reason, I have spent the last four years thinking that in fact you do actually drown if you venture underwater without a breather. After reading this thread, I guess I know better now.

Edit: never mind.

While I agree with the general sentiment being expressed here that alternatives do exist for those who dislike and/or struggle with JPs, I can't really recommend the use of T2Fs to bypass them. Those things are a precious commodity, especially given that they aren't currently available in the vault. I find myself being quite stingy with their use these days, and would only use them on a JP such as Old Kaineng, where I could park an alt.

Am I a bot spam? Well, cogito, ergo sum says otherwise, but then again, there are people crazy enough to believe we live in a computer simulation, so who knows?

The other thing about the activities is that they used to come up about once a month, but now they seem to be twice a week.

I've heard of some players binding Skill 1 to N, Skill 2 to E, Skill 3 to C, Skill 4 to R and Skill 5 to O. Judging by what's been going on on this forum lately, I'd say the practice is catching on.

I had the opposite: I equipped a hammer on a level 4 elementalist and immediately got all 5 weapon skills, which shouldn't happen until level 8.

I finally worked it out. There must be some kind of hidden prize for starting a new thread about the dailies or the relics. So what is it? A spirit shard? A blue unid? A glob of globby gloop?
(Would people start threads to get such things? Yes. Yes, they would.)

@Finse.8526 They are, and so are the mystic forge stone, which is why I said that I was not convinced by them giving us access only to res orbs and extrac tool. Hopefully we'll see more choice in future patches, cause Mystic Forge Stone to make the 250 recycling kit are kind of needed
Mystic Forge Stones come from achievement chests (we still get 10 AP for completing the dailies, so those are unaffected).

The funny thing is, this sort of thing isn't even that new. For all that people go on about thispunk or thatpunk or invoke the dreaded specter of postmodernism (which itself is over fifty years old at this point), its also the case that comic books had this kind of hodgepodge right from the start, with characters based on science and technology rubbing shoulders with magically or mythologically based figures. Similarly, the pulp genre tended to lack the distinction between science fiction and fantasy, a distinction which, if not for Tolkien (who very much was a medievalist, as well as a critic of technology or even simply a Luddite) and some others, we might be inclined to see as much as an exception as a norm. Further examples can be found in the earliest D&D modules, e.g. Expedition to Barrier Peak.
