So when their minds got freed, they were also free to change back.

Yet we have only one sylvari who did this, and he still hears the echo of Mordremoth. We don't know how he did it and if there are more sylvaries who could do this. Also, we fought Mordrems in LW3, and then we just don't know anything about them, except that one Sylvari. We also had one last Mordrem in lw4. That (as well as Trahearne death) means that they mind corruption had not go away with the death of the dragon for at least months.

Considering that Tyrians are clearing the lands from the dragon minions, I think, it is safe to consider that we just killed all the mordrems just like we did it with undeads and branded minions, and not waited and tried to gather the data about if the sylvari could get their own mind back or not.

I like raids even though I don't play them, but in the first year I pointed out that they should make a version for 5 people to attract more players, of course, I was laughed at and now the only thing that has been  left is closed guild communities and lfg sellers new players do not even know that they exist, and even if they want to try it is simply impossible

It's a pity because the raids lore is better than the whole icebrood saga xD

Version for 5 people because it is easier to find 5 people and coordinate them, and 10 are already preparations for 2 hours.
The decisions made by arena net made this game for a casual player and such a player want to play right away, not wait a whole week and then sit for a few hours on discord wasting time

It would be fun to do raids in 5 ppl not as a challenge, but a... Perhaps, a story version? Like if you don't want to train a lot, to perfect your rotation, to get a proper gear, but you just want to enjoy the story.

Raids take hours only on trainings or with no li-requirements pugs, to be fair. And in some trainings in TwT raid guild we also can clear several wings in those 3 training hours. But yeah, the training requirement by itself turns people from exploring the raids story :<

I don't care about legendaries, about elite specs, about raids, etc.

Actually, first raids (w1–w3) has a really decent story. That story line starts at Silverwaste and ends with the killing of the human's god. Also we had a spin-off, some kind of the journey to the past of the Tyria in w4, explored even more of the past in w5 (and w5 story line also have a small part in open world). W6 gave us a lot of confusion about "where to go if you want to make your skimmer go underwater", and W7 is just a conclusion of W6 story.

So lore wise it is worth to do each wing at least once.

  4. Well... They killed the idea "don't kill all the dragon", they made Aurene just a magic sponge, then they uncorrupted the champions, and we've never seen non-sylvaries being uncorrupted... They basically said to us "we don't care about the lore anymore", so OK, I won't care about the lore either, since now it's pointless, the lore can be forgot any minute because they need to end the Saga or next expansion (just like they got rid of the whole Nightmare Court story line in HoT) or next lw asap.

I have never thought that I'll become the one from the "weekly login - raid clear // daily login - take a reward" kind of player, but I guess there is no other choice for me. After this finale I completely lost interest in exploring the game further and deeper.

On the other hand, Sylvari (both Mordrem and Caithe) were the only cases of undoing physical corruption so far.

That's actually very interesting, since Sylvari is the only specie that was made specifically to be dragon's minions in the first place. And yet they were the only one (before the end of the saga) who could be decorrupted.

  6. Actually, we've seen a decorrupted minion. It is a sylvari, who was a Mordrem's guard. But we've never seen dragon's champion became the same: we had to kill Trahearne because of him turning to the champion after Mordremoth's death. We saw still crystal Caith after Aurene's death, so it takes a lot of time to get rid of corruption. And now suddenly Braham and Rytlock are just fine, because of?..

  7. It would be better to get nothing before the EoD or get EoD not this/next year, but much, much later. This was an Icebrood Saga, an expansion level content, and we got something even smaller than usual LW. Jormag suddenly stopped be smart and cautious, became just a foolish suicide brat. Lost everything that was in their character.

Primordus... Is just... Argh. I was waiting for asuran lore, for depth of the Tyria. Kittens, for skritts' lore! And we have like a couple of minutes of the Primordus face and a Taimi line long ago "We have lost everything!". That's all asura had, and we already knew that we lost everything because of Primordus, thank you very much.

This chapter in particular is much shorter than every chapter before. All we got were 2 instances, two short battle. And that's all. This is not a conclusion of the saga, this is some kind of a cruel joke. Battle of two elder dragons, who unsuccessfully fought long ago, fought so hard, that Jormag was still bleeding? Booped—kissed—nuked. This isn't even a battle. This is some dragons' mating went wrong.

Caithe is corrupted by Aurene. I think members of the Crystal Bloom are also.I'm so not sure about Crystal Bloom, actually. It seems Aurene doesn't want to corrupt, we only have corrupted mounts and Caith. Crystal Bloom members have maximum about 1-2 prismatic gear (like crystal bloom on Mordant Crescent) at best. Else we would already had a very rare and costly prismatic infusion just like we can create a character with Jormag corruption.

Aurene gets inside the commanders head. It's convenient when it can say that it's your choice like it was (supposedly) for that moron, caithe, when it isn't. It's already too late. Also OP, you aren't yourself, that's why you "care" about aurene and have helped it reach immortality and power above everything on tyria. Now you can just wait for the inevitable.

She called for us a couple of time and that's all. If that is "getting inside the head", then Taimi is getting in our mind more often and effectively. It will be interesting to get more of the dragon corruption.

I can take my hands complete off the keyboard and mouse yet I keep running.... sometimes for 3 extra steps, sometimes it never stops. The difference between this and auto-run is that hitting S cancels autorun. If I hit S during the problem behavior it stops you but as soon as you let go it starts running again. To see what I mean just hold down W and tap or hold S a few times. I have gotten a brand new mouse with no luck. Not saying anyone can fix this but it's hard to believe that it's only me. Anyway thank you everyone for the help you provided.

Ye, that's exactly the problem I also have. So chat trick didnt help at all? You kept running after activating the chat field? And even writing a letter didnt work out? D: That's so sad to hear, that always worked for me :c

    1. E-sports means players competing against other players, not PvE content. Strikes and raids do not qualify for that.
    2. The four new DRMs are pretty good, actually. I think they did everything right this time around, as the first three were super boring.Well, we have a raid league, so...

    not
be allowed to get away with. It quite literally renders the entire quest to make Aurene an elder dragon pointless, as well as the battle against Balthazar (well, accept that whole killing innocent people to turn them into Forged bit, kinda needed to stop that).

Frankly I have no expectations of how this LS season will end other than that it'll probably be really disappointing.

I’m starting to feel like neither Primordus or Jormag will die this season. I think the finale will be Primordus erupting up the surface, and the season ends on “the real war has only just begun.” EoDs focuses on us trying to replace or depower the twins as they’re wreaking havoc in Tyria as their forces battle it out, and our only lead to fix it are saltspray dragons potentially being able to ascend. Most likely we get this info in a vision from Aurene/the scrying pool. We head to Cantha to search for them and get caught up in regional issues during the process.

Well, it would be interesting. Also, the "they need me, Kuanalung (?)" from the teaser would sound more intriguing in this context.

  13. @"Hypnowulf.7403" said:I'm more invested in how Jormag is playfully goofing around with Aurene, frankly. It's adorable and I can't deal with it, especially since Aurene reciprocates.

I've been wondering for the longest time what this weird vulnarable energy is that I've felt streaming off of Jormag since we first met them. Yes, they're obviously terrified of Primordus but it's more than that—something that would explain their unusual behaviour. Then it sort of clicked.

I think it was when Jormag referred to interlocution. That's a very interesting word. Jormag is an old, lonely Elder Dragon who's never had anyone to talk to beyond mortal norns. If I'd been in that situation, I'd be crying out for an intellect to converse with as well. It's funny though because if we think of Jormag in the sense of one dragon making an effort to befriend another without knowing how? A lot of things fall into place.

    • Why was Jormag initially acting skittish?
    • Why did they take a champion?
    • Why do they have a negative opinion of mortals?
    • Why have they been quietly building Aurene's self-esteem?
    • Why have they been so careful about what they've said?
    • Why have they been trying so hard to look cool?
    • Why do they seem concerned with what Aurene thinks of them?

If you've ever known the joy of pieces falling into place? This was that. Oh, and that Aurene reciprocates too? That's delightful. The age difference means that this isn't that kind of relationship, however I do see Jormag chasing a companionship—a lasting friendship. Being as old as they are, they'd make an interesting mentor for Aurene, and a legitimate foil to Aurene's innate naĂŻvetĂ©.

I don't think things will go as most think since I see Jorms having a friendcrush on our dragon of prisms. They seem so eager to try to please or impress Aurene that... I don't see this going the edgelord-y way that most would think. I mean, besides, with our world going to hell it'd be nice if something could work out for a fictional one we care about. So that's where I am right now.

Considering that they'll be expanding the Eye of the North in an upcoming update... I wonder why they're doing that?

I admit, this blindsided me. I was too busy feeling defensive of Jormag considering how they're a.) oddly vulnerable, and b.) very autistic. I've all too often seen neurotypicals jump down the throat of people and assume they're psychopaths just for having neurodiverse or even anxious traits. So whenever neurotypicals freak out about something being "evil," I feel inclined to dig a little deeper. And I like what I found. I just wish I'd spotted it sooner. I'm very happy about this if I am correct.

    Addendum

I figure I should asnwer some of these in case my point isn't clear.

    • Why was Jormag initially acting skittish?

They were being careful not to offend Aurene as they knew this was a delicate situation and they didn't want to screw it up.

    • Why did they take a champion?

"I took a champion too! Am I cool yet?"

    • Why do they have a negative opinion of mortals?

Envy. Aurene is paying attention to mortals more than Jormag and Jorms finds it frustrating—they want to be worthy of Aurene's attention. They want to prove that they're far more interesting to talk to than the little scampering creatures.

    • Why have they been quietly building Aurene's self-esteem?

They actually value Aurene and they might be hoping that she'll eventually notice. What Jormag has been doing is building the foundations for Aurene to have more faith in herself, to feel less neurotic. This is very different from, say, insincerely boosting a person's ego with valueless platitudes.

    • Why have they been so careful about what they've said?

Oh, I kind of repeated this one. They're being careful about saying something that might offend Aurene and hve her close herself off from Jormag—Jorms is dealing with the fear they hold for Primordus, but they're also having to manage a very valuable thing to them. Their first friendship.

    • Why have they been trying so hard to look cool?

I mean... Yeah, this one speaks for itself. A lot of nerds do this, they try to seem impressive, to have mystique. It's just something we do socially, and so apparently do Elder Dragons. That or Jormag is simply copying mortals as they don't know how else to go about it.

    • Why do they seem concerned with what Aurene thinks of them?

They value her opinion of them—this is probably the way that Aurene could wound Jormag the worst, by continuing to see them as evil or a problem.

Frankly, it's charming my socks off. It's really endearing and I love it. It's made me like Jormag even more, the giant frosty nerd.

It doesn't look like building Aurene's self esteem. For me, it looks like a simple manipulation, when the manipulator talk to you that you are good in something that is beneficial for the manipulator. And also like creating a link, some kind of dependency of talking to, being near and listening to the manipulator. Just to benefit from it.

Activating chat stops you just once or it fixes it for a while? I can't imaging doing a jumping puzzle and having to switch to chat every time I want to stop. Thank you!

Well, it helps me to stop this running for the life asura until the bug decided to appear again. So yeah, it somehow stops the bug for an unpredictable amount of time. It even allowed me to do SAB w2 trib mode, so...

  15. @DeanBB.4268 said:I've never experienced this, nor has my family (4 other players) complained of it. Can you try a different keyboard? Or temporarily map your W to another key to see if that solves it?Actually, nothing else except tapping in the chat helps me. It's definitely not a keyboard problem since I've no problem with it not in other games nor in any other app, there is no double lettering, nothing. And I also changed the keyboard, yes. The problem occurs only in gw2, my character suddenly not gonna stop spinning or running forward.

  16. @Arsenal.5043 said:Very, very often... scores of times per game session I will be running manually (W key, no autorun, it's not mapped) and steering with my mouse, right button down. When I let go of the W key the character keeps running. Even if I hit S he bounces back for a moment and then continues running forward. I've seen him run as many as 6 more steps before stopping. No swiftness or any run buff. This makes it's very hard to fight as I'm melee Mezmer and if I try to run up to a mob and stop I just keep running right through them and have to turn around. Jumping puzzles are almost impossible as I simply run off the edge no matter how hard I try. I have a standard mouse and keyboard, no macros or anything.

I'm not saying this can be fixed but I figured this was a last resort before I put the game up. Currently it's an exercise in frustration. Thank you for any thoughts or input on this matter.
