  1. I think there's a gap in the usability of in-game information that makes it almost a necessity to use the wiki

I'm ashamed to admit but as someone who comes back to the game after long stretches, I often need to wiki even the dailies because I can't find on the map where anything is and you can't even just click on something in the achievement menu and get further information. You know how long it took me to figure out there was two different maguuma areas for the dailies? I just looked for it on the map and was wondering why the daily counter wasn't ticking up. Not sure why there's such a lack of further information in those menus and things like being able to search the map or to have a few dropdowns so you can search by the word not just visually

That's just one small example but I've even struggled trying to explain to mates how to do things in game like progress their crafting, or get to expansion zones and it's always "mate just read the wiki" which turns a lot of people off.

It's incredibly good. I can't live without Weave Self when I run either Fire or Water based Sword Builds. The buffs are fine, but I'm not using it for the buffs. Its that sweet 2 second attunement swap that is just amazing. It has helped save me so many times. Tailored Victory is also a pretty good CC that can combo with Pyro Vortex since its an unblockable.

Pretty much this as well, it seems pointless for PVE, it's useful for PVP and the shorter attunement swaps can feel great

  3. It can fit pretty well into the flow of certain rotations. For example LR D/F Weaver - the damage reduction from earth is awesome and generally if you start from Comet and work your way through a normal damage rotation for a quick kill it will generally pop up after Gale gets stun broken to secure the kill and it being AOE is pretty cool. The buffs and the way it's made is ridiculous, I'd like to see it reworked but I definitely take it over Tornado for most maps unless it's like Revenge of the Capricorn's bell capture. But yeah once you get the flow of weaver it can fit nicely but it's definitely clunky for when you need to actually sit in certain attunes and wait longer for the swap

    I also run axe/torch + sword/pistol, he runs axe/pistol + sword/torch which is different

People who choose not to pair pistol with sword make me uncomfortable... there's just something wrong with them.

What's the reasoning behind it? I was thinking that Sword/Torch was the defensive set and Axe Pistol Offensive, do you guys mix them up to spread out the damage and defense through the rotations?

After a several year break from GW2, I came back ealier this year and really wanted to like my Ele. I've been running fresh air Tempest, and the clunkiness of having to run around channeling overload air makes me feel like I can't dodge when I need to and I end up feeling very squishy. It's very possible I just don't get how to play Ele anymore, but I remember having such a good time on core d/d back in the day that it feels frustrating.

Give D/F LightningRod Weaver a go in pvp mate

    2) if yes...Not impressed. They keep shoving us in melee range more and more with the lowest base armor and HP. I originally rolled an ele to play a ranged caster type. I was hoping for a decent ranged spec to compensate for how utterly garbage scepter and staff have become (compared to sword/x and dagger/x) and I honestly did not want a pet. I'd roll a ranger if I get the itch for it...

Concur on this one, nothing worse than having Staff/Scepter near useless and being given a 3rd melee spec while still being this squishy after 8+ years. If they want us to be a bruiser than surely they've had an idea of how to do that by now on the existing specs and can add a bit more ele/mage/wizard style on the new one.
