This should be good. Let's see if we can hit all the checkboxes
    1. Every build listed will be condi.
    2. None of them will actually be strong choices for solo/duo.
    3. They will all be builds that are very easy to counter.

    Perma stealth condi thief
    - this setup takes loads of skillz and the basics of it are to just load up condi, poison preferably, and then stealth. Rinse and repeat.

Doesn't do enough damage to kill anything.

    Condi rev
    - This class runs full trailblazer and torment runes, the idea is to stand there and pump out torment which does insane damage and sustains you to boot.

No burst. No sustain (unless you're in melee with multiple enemies)Little to no mobility.

    Amazing choice for roaming clearly.

Also full TB+Torment runes is just bad, duration caps at 100%...

    Burn Guard
    - Super fun and takes some time to master. Basically just stand behind real players and spam spirit sword.

Worst sustain in the game and top 3 worst mobility in the game, excellent roaming choice.

When roaming you're generally no more than 2. Not really many people to stand behind.

At least this one has enough damage to kill anything.

    Condi core Necro
    - Again, face roll all the condis on target. When you get low go into shroud and just stand there for a few seconds while your HP rises. Once shroud is depleted, leave shroud and dodge two times, shroud will be full again. Rinse and repeat.

Finally an option with sustain. Now if it only had enough damage to kill anything. Or any mobility at all....

Great option if you like tanking out 1-2 people then dying to the inevitable 5+ people that come before you've killed anyone.

Also, I would suggest running double cleansing sigils, unless of course, you're a warrior... in which case I would suggest playing a different class.

Warrior just needs 1 cleansing sigil actually and excels against most of the stuff you listed and also happens to be a much much stronger choice for roaming lol.

    ^ Found the condi druid...

I am sort of frustrated at the moment, because almost every battle I have seen over the past three days appeared to be a duel. I want to do my dailies somehow and ... well I do WvW for the tickets ... participation.

What I know or at least believe to know:

    • the official duel spot is on the small island with the sentry in Alpine Borderlands, north of the southern central camp
    • allies and enemies who stand there are either spectators or waiting for duels
    • to engage someone into a duel, just jump infront of them and wait for them to jump as well, find a location and start
    • interfering a duel is 100 % suicide, because every player in the area (except you) has a build optimized for 1v1 and can strike you down in 1/2 sec
    • watching is allowed
    • claming the camp is allowed
    • claming the sentry is sometimes allowed

    What I do not understand:

    • when I go to a duel, and sit down I get attacked by other spectators
    • using the pathway to the camp also gets you killed/attacked by the spectators
    • sometimes even claiming the monument gets you killed/attacked by the spectators
    • if you watch a duel from the other side of the water, ppl sneak up at you and kill you

How do I spot a duel in other places? Two people fighting on the field is not a real indicator. Asking? Either you fight or you write. I cannot message and fight at the same time and those combats look quite intense. Duelists are not much talkative, even if the fight is over. They only care about the duel itself, which is sort of understandable.

From my understanding, duels only work because players agree to some basic rules. What belongs to those rules and what not depends, on the day, the time and the mood of the players. If the bloodthirst is high enough, every non-dueling player is a free kill. A spectator can also watch when he is dead.

Is there an agreement, that server X is the dueling hotspot for this week? Then I will skip it entirely. Where can I look this up?

Could we get a map with 50 square holes in the ground, each hole has the measurements of the Arcane Council room in Rata Sum. People who want to duel can jump into a room and fight. The others can do WvW on the other maps?

Bowing is the formal way to ask for a duel./bow @ (player targeted)

I have a rule I follow which is never get involved in a 1v1.. I don't care if it's a duel or not. I will jump in if anyone else jumps in, or if the enemy player attempts to stomp the friendly they defeated.

There are 3 common dueling spots around SMC and ofc vista island on the BLs. That said, duels can happen anywhere and it's best (imo) to just not interfere in 1v1s.

My server has timezones where it is severely outnumbered. We have maybe 15-20 random disorganized people in all maps, defending against a map queue made up of 2 large organized guilds. It's very difficult but we absolutely CAN defend against that with siege and tactivators. Only our tactivators are useless because somebody keeps purposefully pulling them at the wrong time.

Yes, tactivators can be set to private to avoid this. But as I said, in this dead timezone it's a skeleton crew of pugs and most of our guilds are sleeping. So if those tactivators were private, might as well have no tactivators at all. It's not realistic and you know it.

I'm also not talking about the random person who pulls EWP or Invul at the wrong time. This particular troll pulls tactivators at EB keep, walks to Bravost, pulls tactivators, walks to Durios, pulls tactivators, ports back to keep, walks to Langor, pulls tactivators, walks to QL, pulls tactivators.

And if you read the OP, it's a lot more than just tactivator trolling.

If this is how it's gonna be I would be perfectly okay with removing tactics for everyone. I'd even prefer those classic trolls who turn trebs around, jump golems off cliffs and build 20 ballistas around the supply depot to drain supply. At least it takes the troll a lot more effort to screw everyone else up.

No one likes the trolls. No one is defending the trolls. But when you've played for 5+ years and know nothing is going to get done about it you just learn to accept it.

Doubt if the changes are really going to make a difference. There are many areas broken but we at least have roller beetle racing and a frigging dog whistle.

I still haven’t unlocked the beetle...

@"Sabre.8251" said:I allready can foresee trouble with Alliances system. Of course the "real" WvW players, or better said the good WvW players will end up sitting in a few guilds, which will create an Alliance. Pretty sure this can be expected. Ending up with maybe 1-2 Alliances of good WvW players against the rest (Roamers, newbies, trolls and so on).You may want to rethink the Alliances system, it will leave the matches to good WvW'ers vs bad/new WvW players.

Counter point for food for thought: So if good players stack together in one alliance, and fill out 1000 motivated and skillful players. That shoudl be about 25% of the total "server". What if the other 75% of that server keeps getting filled with random fair-weather pugs that just wants to afk farm their gift of battle, refuse to use meta battle builds, learn to play, or use voice chats, or any other kind of organizations.

Are those 1000 players in that one super alliance going to carry the 3000 other players alone ? Can 1000 people hold up against 2 other servers with a more even mix of motivation ?

I think that alone could be interesting to watch.

I doubt all of YB pugs would end up on the same server.

welp I tried. I hope people are reasonable enough to understand that the chances of someone making a super alliance and there only being a small few of its kind will simply not happen.

I think the majority of the people are smart enough to realize that.
