  1. A funny question to think about after this episode: How much damage did the movement of Primordus do?

When dragons travel, they often cause servere damage to the area. Not only do they spawn minions, but they are living natural disasters.  We know that Primordus was in Draconis Mons before PoF, and traveled all  the way to the dragonstrom arena. The dragonstorm arena is (according to the wiki) roughly located in the same location as Anvil Rock (Northern Shiverpeaks). So Primordus traveled through the lands of the asura, sylvari, humans and the norn.  Did Primordus cause a similar effect as the dragonbrand during this episode?

  2. No, bc they change their target group all the time XD.

Vanilla was mostly for casual gamers, who sometimes liked to do slightly harder content.HoT was totally not for the same casual gamers in vanilla (just look at the mobs XD).PoF was a mix between the two, with fewer (but stronger) enemies.GW2 maybe wants to appeal to the story focused players, but the story is not good enough to be a story driven game (the main storyline of the dragons is a mess XD).GW2 maybe also wants to be there for the hardcore players, but there are very few raid releases.

GW2 mostly delivers on the fashion wars aspect of the game XD.Personally I really like the fetivals. But i really miss tradional questing in GW2, so there is not an option to do a small story quest when you want to.

  3. I would buy an expansion without extra maps. I would be fine with new content in older maps. I would prefer something like a traditional questing system then a new map (bc hearts feel like only a game mechanic, that adds almost nothing to the story. ). But i am pretty sure that the next expansion will have new maps.

  4. WvW seems to me very much like the GW1 pvp missions in the factions map, but they lack something for me the previous game had. In GW1 I loved playing the pvp-like faction missions, but i never feel the same attraction to WvW. In gw1 players choose a faction (luxon or kurzick). The fun thing is that your pvp mission faction is part of the general pve story. The GW1 pve map had a border between the two factions, and that border changed based on the outcome of the pvp-like missions. When I played WvW I thought is was kinda weird that you cannot choose lore relevant factions. And there is no lore/story on the map. I did not find any lore interesting character.

My question is the general wvw crowd would be: would you like more lore/story in a part of your gamemode? F.e. in one part of the map able to fight as joko minion vs sunspears, white mantle vs shining blade, ect. I personally think it would be nice if some of the pve-like events on the wvw maps would have more flavour. I think it is sad that wvw has way less variation in architecture, landscaped and NPCs. I mean if pve can have a charr metal concert in their maps with all kinds of weird events around it, why cant wvw?

  5. I think there are some big problems with pve:

    • writers have no dev secrets you can try to puzzel out, lore speculation is not possible. Lore speculation is important to keep the pve crowd invested.
    • There are zero interesting lore mysteries left.
    • they dont use books/letters enough to give us intersting lore
    • the game does too little to learn players mechanics of the game. It just sometimes makes the game randomly harder, which is unfair for the casuals.
    • just make a hard mode for veterans. Please dont make the game harder in general. HoT tried that, and that killed of a big part of the casual community. Just keep the "you can play this game with any gear and any build" mentality. I think the current idea of difficult achievements is not good enough, bc they dont make it interesting enough for veterans. And casual gamers also want to be able to get the pve story achievements.
    • the game needs to think about rewards, esp pve ones. Last season had multiple hard to get armor sets, but they had just exotic stats XD. Like how was is more cheaper for me to craft asc gear???
    • The new easier raid-like content is weird. Just make new raids for the raiders. And make a story mode with small rewards in raids for ppl who just want to see the story without dying all the time. (and because the easy raids are played more, Anet can be more comfortable to invest in them, also for the veterans). The strike missions seem like a failure to me.
    • Dont stop investing in festivals, they really help to keep the game alive
    • Maybe update some of the vanilla world bosses. A big part of the community does world-boss runs.

This has nothing to do with this or any game. It's simply how sales transactions work.

I disagree. Anet wants a GW2 fan community. This means you cant ignore their voices. If Anet was smart, they will have an insentive to not be like this. Your argument works for quick money with no relationship between the consumers and the company.

  7. I think that the race-choice would mean something, if races could not play all professions (just like in Wow). I gave myself a max of 3 for fun.

My choices would be:Sylvari: necromancer (fascination with death), ele and ranger (nature/magic classes)Asura: engineer (bc techno race), thief and necromancer (bc of their backstabby political scheming)Norn: ranger, guardian and warrior (obvious choices)Charr: warrior, engi (bc of their war machines) and revenantHumans: guardian and elementalist and mesmer (bc focus on political scheming, nobility and honour)

  8. I depends what you like. I like f.e. world bosses and metas. As a core/vanilla only account you have access to a lot of those. I didnt like most of the HoT maps (i only like Tarir and dragon stand), and the HoT story was crap, but gliding is really nice. PoF maps are more fun then HoT maps, but lack a big meta. And mounts are really cool. Living World maps and story have their ups and downs. Most of the story arcs have fun build up, but the endings are meh. Anet is not good in making satisfing endings. The mastery system has its ups and downs as well, some feel like a waste of time, bc a lot of them are only useable in one map :s.Try other gametypes as well :)

  9. @Hashberry.4510 said:In fairness, it has never made sense to spend on a game assuming they will use it on what you like, businesses just do not operate that way. Spend your money if you want what they are selling now, ignore any evangelism on their part.

True, but if people spend money on this game to support GW2, it seems like an unwise business idea to spend most of that money on other things, because at some point pll will notice it and will give you less.

  10. @Sanity Obscure.6054 said:Like before they aren't giving roadmaps or any indicators of things increasing in-game, only decreasing in stature (Episodes > Sagas; Raids > Strikes; and likely Fractals > Visions) so take that as you will.

Omg, this is so true. And I kinda feel like they are attracting the same people and not many new ones. People who liked to raid do strikes, it seems to me. So the new version does nothing except giving the raiderrs what they want: raids XD. And the people that want an easy raid mode, still want an easy raid mode, so they can do the story of the raid XD. Because not raiders want to experience the raid story and not this new stuff, but sadly Anet does not get that.

  11. The devs said that gw2 would not suffer under the recent layoff at Arenanet, because there would be even more focus on the game. To me that seems incorrect. Sagas seem even like a smaller thing then previous LW :(.My question: Is Arenanet again working on other projects?

I really want to support the game, and not some other project that might be canceled again. Because I really do not like that a lot of GW2 money went to a canceled mobile game. Anyone ideas on this?

  12. good:

    • the story was oke
    • The corruption arc was pretty cool
    • The fight with yourself and with rytlock was nice. The battle with drakkar was cool in general, until the moment Bangar came in.
    • The forgotten-like version of Jormag was pretty cool.
    • Jormags wispers are nice
    • The new music is nice.

    bad:

    • the story was very short
    • being one-shot by Bangar was really lame (He just cant do that, bc he is definitely less stronger then Drakkar. And Drakkar was not able to so much damage. It was really weird, felt inconsistent and not immersive. ).
    • It was lame that Bangar showed up and stole our kill.
    • Bangars plan is just too stupid, and therefore is character is unbelievable.
    • I did not like te return of the hall of monuments. If you make it return, then do something with it. Dont make it just one instance. It was weird bc they did not update the looks for the GW1 veteran version of the same room. Update the looks of my hall of monuments!
    • Some events were not functioning well. This is because they did not explain what you had to do. And because the ox event was bugged.
    • The map condition stack mechanics are not fun.

The reason why I call it "one of the bigger retcons of GW1 lore" is because it has among the biggest impacts of the changes (alongside Glint's origins going from "created by the Six" to "scion and champion of Kralkatorrik").>>

Wait what? Was Glint made by the six in GW1? OMG :o ! Why? How?

  14. @Tyson.5160 That would make so much sense :open_mouth:. I think that most mind controlled creatures were indeed plants.

And the end would be better. Instead of fighting the dragon of mind in his mind (in which he is supposed to be super strong, but he is not??), we fight him in his dream. Then the creation of the pale tree could have been the discovery of the weapon that could ultimately destory mordy.

  15. from best to worst:1: kralky (i liked the fact that they went for a different route then the standard "You cannot defeat me, you are just a mere mortal")2: zhaitan (the fight itself is not the best, but the storytelling before is pretty nice)3: Steve the deep sea dragon (nice and mysterious)4: That one time use of Primey was hilarious (My boyfriend said : "he, is that primordus?" I turned the camera around and it scared me to death XD). Apart from that Primey is pretty boring to me.5: jormag (i dont care so much for jormag)6: mordy (i dont like it bc the start of his boss fight is random "lets attack the dragon of mind in his mind". Which sounds like the most stupid idea ever + there were too many sylvari lore parts missing)
