I don't necessarily need it to come to consoles any time soon. But I would very much like official controller support. I come from a console heavy background outside of things I played years ago. I play FF14 on PC with a controller and do just fine in all roles. Having Controller Support as an option would be appreciated.

I totally agree, because this simple (?) gimmick could enable gw2 to be played from remote even on mobile, with almost zero effort (nothing to be rebuild from ground, just streaming)

To the OP!!!!!!!!! This has been rejected many times, in many threads.  Move on and Fuhgeddaboudit!!!!!!!!

Maybe because new winds are coming? and withe them new "opportunities" that 90% of gw2 refuses? but the real question is: ANet will refuse it or is it planning something beyond the scene?

Just googling to find ArenaNet opens multiple positions for "UNANNOUNCED TITLE" built to ground in Unreal Engine 5, GW3 coming? a cross-platform one? They also stated last year that a new expansion of gw2 would come much sooner than the new title.

Do you think a console port could raise people, revenue and budget for the game?

Do you think it could be possible?

how I have said somewhere else, I grew and with me all my habits grew. I missed EoD and Soto but I'll buy them for sure IF and WHEN a mobile GW2 Mobile or Remote playing on Mobile will EVER come out.

I don't have anymore the will to play on PC.  Sony got this very clearly and launched its Playstation Portal.

I don't care if I have to wait 1-2-10years, my money will come in 1-2-10years.. how many persons will hold their money like me? Sad fact but sadly true 😈

You know gw2 need a big motherboard more than a graphic card , don't think the cellphones can add gw 2 to their shop without anet working hard on the downgrade for it

That's because you assume inside the word "cellphone"  something like a star tak and not a mobile gaming console. The opportunities come from new processors and new rams inside the new phones (A17 from Iphone 15 models in primis but i assume Qualcomm gen 3 inside S24 will be on pair or better) and as you can see you don't have to sacrificate anything. https://www.androidauthority.com/resident-evil-village-iphone-15-pro-max-3380846/ All you need is a controller like backbone and you are good to go.

60gb or more is not a problem on modern phones (genshin impact for comparison is 36gb), all i can say is that prejudice is a big beast and can blinds people preventing them to really see the truth behind their eyes. But Blindness or not you can't stop the progress and you have to front the fact then in a future not so far you will have to play with people that maybe wont have the same dps like you do but they enjoy as mach as you playing the game. I call them numbers, you will call them noobies, ANet will call them source of money, NCSOFT will look at this project (GW2) with a new sight, just the opposite as it was in the past.

So you want Guild Wars 2 to be a game loaded with predatory monetization, that mostly plays itself?

no because the model business GW2 adopt (free base game paying expansion) is just perfect for mobile market segment; moreover this model is something unique in the game mobile business and will be something groundshaking with big numbers following; without changing anything else ANet have the power (tnx GW2) to make Big Voice out of there

And i sincerly hope anet will not use ressource into that, so that just a M-i-n-o-r-i-t-y of gamers (Mobile "gaming" isn't gaming , i should have pointed that out) keep the ******** mobile gaming out of the true world of real gaming design, want some proof ?

So we are improving now, defining what a gamer is. I don't want shock you about how many hours I played GW2 (but really hope someone in dev team look this data to make their considerations).

The point is: somewhere in the life you don't have the time you used to have in past to do shiny things because new challenges in life happen (work? family? busy life?) and if you want preserve this things you simply can't plan a game session at PC or you don't have the will to do it. But you have always spared time to spend like you prefer even on couch or bed surfing or watching something relaxing (tiredness happen) (why not playing gw2 in not an hardcore session and in confort then?)

hero wars , clash of clan (so called strategy game where you can't even control your troops, ... ) all of that is similar to me as diarrhea and i , as many others, don't want that to happen to this game, even if there is only a small chance to happen, and if you search you will notice all fervent mobile gamers are playing because they are bored and have nothing else to do , i play gw 2 and other real games because i want to play it, big diff.

Now, breath, do you really think I wrote here because I don't want to play GW2 but just for causality? Or do you think I like to flame? If you can't define myself and something like me players or gamers at least consider us like numbers, and when you host/make a game where the interactions between players are the key for success, well in that case numbers matter. And numbers create money. Money create resource for new developing opportunities.

All the techincal difficulties can be smoothed with the will to overcome it. These are same wills I want talk to: I tied many of PC games in past decades of my life and many of mobiles games in the last one (almost all the mobile quoted in this post) i can say the  gw2 in the beautifulest I tried in all my life, for experience, emotion; past the thousand hours of playing you can feel a little bored but you always can enjoy a wvw or pvp without feen the sensation of deja-vu.

and again, there is no doubt this will come somewhere in future because the market and the evolutions of devices force the companies to new reflections.

For the community, where I feel and insider even if I'm not represented in this topic, this should be a welcome idea and not a cause od vomit bile or diarrhea,  because there is much to gain and really few to lose.

Finally put i really doubt the devs commit to that just for a minority of players who want to go play in their bed with the mobile version (or on the toilet...)

How many salt mixed with prejudice in a single sentence. Minority did you say?

That's a report analysis of 2018 about how the single segments in the Game Market would have grown in the following years:

    https://venturebeat.com/games/newzoo-global-games-expected-to-hit-180-1-billion-in-revenues-2021/

Guess what? they were right in 2022 happened what they forseen. https://newzoo.com/resources/blog/the-games-market-in-2022-the-year-in-numbers.

Now consider that i have not asked "If a mobile version of gw2 will ever come" because every analyst even inside ANet team who sees market trends can conclude that if i have some money i have to invest where is more profitable even to reinvest the revenue in the game itself to expand all the aspects you said.

I said that Times are mature to consider this option right here and right now, to not lose that segment market in favor of competitors.

Times are mature because the technology allows new prospectives: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/apples-a17-pro-challenges-core-i9-13900k-ryzen-7950x-in-single-core-performance

Maybe an app to manage your wares on the trading post and gather your home instance/guild hall? Post on the forums? I don't think it's feasible to actually play GW2 on mobile though.

Wonder is Power. The will to do it is the only limit
That’s an interview to the producer of Resident Evil. He sayed that with specific tools porting on MacOS wasn’t harder than porting on WIN, but the engine of RE was able to do it.

    https://www-dday-it.translate.goog/redazione/47388/resident-evil-village-iphone-15-pro?_x_tr_sl=it&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=it&_x_tr_pto=wapp#

The only limit isnt the screen size but the kick in of thermal throttle, but even here there are some joystick scaffold for phone with fans incorporated like the Gamesir x3 compatible for iphone 15

I kinda don't have any real opinion on whether or not GW should go mobile, but honestly considering how most players are on PC, it probably won't go over well. Besides, you can already play GW2 on Mobile/Tablet using GFN/Geforce Now (For FREE) - https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-is-playable-on-nvidia-geforce-now/.  Decent FPS, but controls are kinda bleh. Definitely better to play on Tablet.

Nope you can't. To do that you should go trough Safari inside iOS and in this situation is exactly like on iPhone, game won't start because is not supported. Maybe on Android is a different

    scenario.

The mobile game will definitely be more profitable, but porting an 11 year old PC game to mobile for crossplay is a meh idea. If there's gonna be a new mobile game, it will likely have to be a Spin-off and separate from GW2.  The only MMOs that I know moved from PC MMO to Mobile MMO are: Dragon Nest, Black Desert Online, Lineage and Perfect World.  EACH and EVERY one of these Mobile MMOs is completely separate from the main PC platform game, and does not support crossplay.

I tried many of the games you quoted but are way way worse the the original counterparts starting from diablo immortal, you will find yourself losing interest in a couple of playing week.

Having an M1 dedicated app since a lot of competitors had theirs native app (FFXIV and WOW) set the basis for the porting since the architecture will be the same then. But I Agree the working time behind this is no joke, but what about the profit? Isn't every game out for profit? How the profit will be for NCSOF in the GW2?

Im getting diablo immoral vibes from OP...

Best they should just add steam deck support and thats it.  You'll get your 'on the go' gaming without that plague that is mobile gaming...

I tried GeForce NOW for Safari on iPhone but GW2 is still not supported even with mounted joystick like Backbone. You won't be able to launch GW2 after adding it you your library.

Even the idea of paying months/fee for better GW2 experience on GeForce NOW plans is priceless compared to idea of playing everywhere you want (for me is priceless playing lied down in my bed, with my phone hitting me  on nose when Im falling asleep, everyone should try this feeling)

How the heck shall GW2, a game with complex controls, work on a mobile device? With what, something like a control pad? 4 buttons?

PC players will always be the win then and mobile players the losers, that no-one wants in the party.
All they may be able to play properly is their home instance.

I'm the opposite, I dropped pc games entirely because they got adjusted too much for the mobile market and that was bad for the pc experience. Like Gems of War - rip.

(If you really love the game you wouldn't have left)

It's more simple to view than explain how good it can be play with a joystick

  12. Is always a pleasure to see you, all of you again, all of you that sided my journey in the gw2 for the past decade.

Im not a returning player, I can define myself a "casual nerd": when I am into something I give all I have for the purpose, that is exactly what happened with Gw2.

I don' play gw2 anymore for 4-5 years but I used to play long enough to having wonderful memories here. Memories that every Halloween season go thought the vein of my consciousness and at least one thought bring me back here to see what happened during this long time.

Why I write here? Because I'm still a gamer, i didn't stop playing in all this time, but I recognize, what I do now, it's finding what guild wars was somewhere else.

When I stopped Gw2 I stopped playing PC and started Playing of mobile. I find more relaxing playing in bed at the end of the day that switching on a pc (that have the same Architecture M1 of my Phone (iPhone 15) for a game session. I used to play games that remembered me GW2 like Genshin Impact but I can feel the gap in the game experience that GW2 Gave me. Still this gap is not strong enough to make me switch the pc on and playing GW2 again.

With the new hardware coming around on mobile platforms and the possibility of customization of mobile joysticks, wave of new possibilities comes around.

Why I tell you this? Because I want to revive again the same emotions that GW2 gave me in the past, and I think I'm not alone here. I think a lot of ex players prefer the convenience of playing when you can along with your normal working day, and all the stuff everyone have over planning a gaming session and pianificate time for allocate it.

Teresa of Calcutta is also known as Mother Teresa. St. Teresa was a missionary. She used to say that we are only a drop of water in the Ocean, but even the Ocean without that drop is a little bit smaller.

There are plenty of drop out of there and planning to make GW2 crossplatform including mobile would have had the same groundbreaking resonance the World of Warcraft had the first hits the market 2 decades ago with astonishing numbers.  Guess where I was before jumping on GW2? But still I prefer gw2 to every other game I tried because of particularities that only this game have.

TLDR: I love gw2. Please plan a porting on mobile to increase the community catching back all the returning players that prefers Mobile convenience over PC. Kisses around🥰

  13. Hi,i have an interesting finding to report. I suspect the game crash when the selection of arena is done because the game is trying to fit 3 teams in a 2 vs 2 arena. It's not a normal dc because all your game crash for both you and your partner. When you choose the areena in a 2vs2 specimen, only 4 choise should be avaible But for some reason 6 players apply to choose the map (3 chosed the mist map, 1 the asura arena, 1 more the remaining map, (prolly one didn't place any preference).i dont know if the game strarts for the remaining two teams, but its a wast of time wait for the match finishing before be able to rejoin when you are the kicked team.

Please do your investigation and fix this!

  14. As main Weaver, can't wait to test the new meta shift. I absolutely love the idea and want to test it.

The only think I dislike is the force of locking the bar when using Obsidian flash. That's unnecessary and tear down the game style of the Elementarists.

Others so called nerf are welcomed, because if they are well balanced and fit well in other classes nerf then all the players will enjoy their new power creep.

Remember: what you would in a savannah is not the be the fastest to survive but you would be faster then your beloved friend when the lion is upon you both :)

  15. @"hugeboss.5432" said:I think those numbers / calculations are incorrect. It's not 13%, but more like 6,5% extra dmg reduction from Light to Heavy (from the raw armor defense stat). [been years since i looked over the calc for that, so perhaps i'm wrong. But the wiki wasnt always correctly updated either, and even sometimes wrong].

.. Copying and past what it s calculated in pvp forum thread..

If we assume a maximum power from amulett: 1,200 (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Build)If we assume average weapon strength of 900 (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon_Strength)If we assume a weapon damage coefficient of 1.0If we use the given formula for power damage:Damage done = (Weapon strength) Power (skill-specific coefficient) / (target's Armor)

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage

If we use the exotic defense values for each weight provided on https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Armor

The results are as follows against a target with base 1,000 toughness:Light armor is hit for 549Medium armor is hit for 509Heavy armor is hit for 475

Which constitutes a damage difference of around 13% between light and heavy armor. That is only against power, maximum glasscanon versus classcanon and without taking into account any class abilities which might allow more offensive or defensive setups in stats.

  16. @Cyninja.2954 said:Gone are the times where you would lead on warrior, mesmer or elementalist. Stability is the game and only guardian has access to it reasonably. That is absolutely hitpoint or armor unrelated.

I enjoyed much more the mesmer leading with portal teleport inside enemy blob then the boring firebrand route ones.

And since I play to enjoy I usually lead on tempest minstrel and again:

@Dawdler.8521 said:PvP doesnt have anywhere near the defensive stats of WvW .

the enemy aren't anywhere near the number of 5 that you use to front in pvp. 13% more damage reduction really matter when you push against 15+people. You will be focused covering your squad for X time before you blow them or be blown up.

If you like infinite kiting, even when you can push and survive, where you play just to not die and be good killing enemy one by one rather than great fun in crowds then anyone should ask why does he play?My answer is emotions. The time where the game stops to give me emotions, is a dead game for me.

  17. It's pointed elsewhere (pvp forum), what's t the difference in armor class if everyone has the same power output beyond the logic of glass cannon.

When you are commanding as a light class and you are the " head of the turtle", that 13% could make the difference between your party heals and your enemies damage.

I'm not asking to lower the damage of heavy class since the Big Numbers meta but I'm demanding at least to have same treatment damage reduction wise

  18. Can confirm, this bug affect the low tier Pc. In my case a MacBook pro retina late 2013.

And this is also the reason why I keep running with skimmer almost all the time because RNGodness blessed me with a skin of that type, and payed skin solved the problem

This bug was annoying in silverwast loot train, during anomaly fast kill, during timing boss after wipe because in my case you have to include even 40sec of locked in place and the funny fact is that you can't do nothing during this 40 sec otherwise you can experience 2 crazy stuff:

    • You got bored and decided to dismount during the locked in phase:

        • A) if you are luck, you will be teleport instantly back to the point where you decided to mount up even if you moved through using the minimap
        • B if you dismount in place there is a good chance that you will fall below the level of ground. This Is How I discovered that below all the world there Is the sea,an immense world of sea, like one piece fisherman isle.
    • if you try to move forward using the minimap there is the good chance that in 40sec you go outside the minima, that is literally going blind

The only positive note in my case is that Wvw warclaw isn't affected by this bug. I loved warclaw even more and was this guy that made me even command in wvw because I love the free mobility. OT:the ability to be able to dismount people is only need if you plan to diminish the overall pwoerhouse damage since right now I can be dismounted one shot from ranged people

  19. Hi ,

I never had any problem with Email authentication, sometimes there was a "timegate" of 10 min before receiving mail , but in this case is over a hour with multiple attempt from a new network.

i tried to check from an already trusted network(the same where I'm writing this post)if any new request was up in the security page of anet, but nothing new is shown to accept.

PLease my skyscale need to be fed for the first time, we wont be more TimeGated then before! that dragon without food will surely die, is a newborn on day 1 :(

    Lets this dragon survive
