  1. I'm sat on around 20-30 stacks of exo MF (maybe more, I don't look at it anymore) and that's nothing compared to the guy who has 3 toons carrying his luck for him like donkeys . Do you think the people complaining about tomes have that many? also they can just click them to gain spirit shards, Obi shards are used to create leggy gear and if players are sat on multiple stacks of them they need more uses, transmutation charges are a bit poo too me as I have a lot but they take up no space so who cares about them. The point is there is no use for MF once you cap and if all the people that play the game cap it, well that's a lot of MF getting thrown away because of bad design. I understand your point about guild hall decorations but there are some issues -

    • BORING place. Who spends that much time in there, I might go once a month if I can be bothered.
    • I did 200+ lanterns for someone that messaged me and that cost me gold to make them (not a lot but still). Don't even know what they look like as when I finished I just left.
    • Making 200 lanterns 1 at time is bullxxxx, they should be free and if you want to make 100 it should be 1 click.

@Fremtid.3528 said:I've spent some time thinking about this post today and here are my thoughts. First off, just because they're both used for decorations doesn't mean luck was ever meant to have a second use that was meant to be profitable to you once you were capped. However, you can use blue luck (the lowest tier) to convert the new year backpacks from rare to the exotic which in the case of some backpacks (I won't do your research for you) is profitable. But not if you auto craft it to exotic. Secondly, there are tons of other items in this game that we get in droves that because they're piled on us once we've capped out on our use for them they become useless to us like capped luck and pile into our banks or other places. Things like obsidian shards, or tomes, or for people like me transmutation charges (although I know some people are hurting for them really) and I've seen people ask for conversions for some of these things in map chat and on forums. Like a key for every 100 transmutation charges or other such stuff. But the truth is that's all entitled nonsense to get something for your junk. You capped out on luck? Great. You ALREADY reap the benefit by getting more rares than people who haven't. There shouldn't be a system added to reward those who refuse to hit destroy on their luck just because it might benefit them in the future somehow with phat lootz. It's already in place. It's called minus inventory space.

Obi shards aren't useless, tomes aren't useless, transmutation charges aren't useless. What are you on about????

They can be if you've maxed your use on them. I see people all the time complaining they have stacks of tomes, and obsidian shards with nothing to do with them. I certainly have use for them since I'm constantly making legendaries but hey luck isn't useless to everybody else either. And I have more transmutation charges than I will ever realistically use so yeah as many transmutation charges as I have are useless to me.

So by what you have said those 3 things you mentioned are not as useless to you and the few players (in the scale of the game) that complain about those items, CHOOSE not to use them and as for transmutation charges that also is your choice to not change your toons appearance but it still has a use to you if you what too. The difference with max MF is that we get something that had a use and value of sorts that now has none by no choice of are own.

In the vast majority (I'm sure Anet can back this claim up if they'd be willing), players that have maxed out mf have done so actively. Just like one player admitted earlier in the thread of buying lunar fortunes in masse, most of luck comes from buying in masse...ie...salvaging drops alone doesn't get you to >300% except in the most rare of cases. It's basically like those that rush through content wanting more, but a much, much smaller minority.

Or maybe we play more than others, maybe we're more efficient with the game, maybe we salvage everything and when we got luck as reward it had a function like a reward from the item if we choose to salvage something or event items. Instead we have an item that is a waste, it used to have value and everyone gets it which is possible for everyone to cap this but still get luck that has no use at all.

  5. Luck is starting to take a lot of slots up, I'm not feeling to lucky tbh :anguished: . I don't believe this problem can or should be under another cap of sorts and should be solved using multiple forms of function let it be at high costs of luck to achieve. Least then this item will have a value and doesn't seem a waste, what happens when everyone that plays reaches 300%?

@YoukiNeko.6047 said:Yeah same, both me and my GF both the ultimate and have the previous ultimate editions. But the RNG mount skins are really pushing us in the direction of leaving the game for good.

Nothing personal, but I wonder at such a strong reaction to something that isn't required to play the game.

If you'd read my post, you'd have seen it's not the mounts... It's that there's a systematic encroachment of "gambling" mechanics in the game.I mean they could have slowly released the mounts 5 at a time over the next 6 weeks for 400 gems each, and people would be buying them, especially if they stacked the "aura" mounts to the end of the release plan. Now a lot of people (me included) won't touch them at all, and a lot of people (me included) are less inclined to buy gems, or even play the game.

Also it's not just the RMG but also the price on that Forged Hound thing... 2000 gems? That's more expensive than the WHOLE expansion, not to mention as expensive as the previous 5 pack. They could have easily learned from games like LoL and have tiered skins 400 for "common" skins (The ones without particle effects), 800 for "elite" sins (the particle effect ones), and 1200 for Legendary skins (Like the hound). But 2000 Gems?

They were greedy with the mounts. And yes, as a person that bought Ultimate, having them release 30 mounts so soon after release tells me that the whole "not sure about mount skins yet" talk that was going on at release was kitten and an excuse not to do what they did with HoT and give a special skin for buyers.

Yeah your right m8, this is bad practice and I couldn't word it better myself

Since I learned what the numbers mean, I do no longer care and rather focus on optimizing my karma-gain. I just convert my luck to exotic essences, collect them in my bank/mules. During the new year events I exchange the luck essences for Red Lanterns, as @insanemaniac.2456 mentioned above. Those are cool and useful guildhall decorations and the key-ingredients for lunar-year decoration-crafts. We get new decorations every year. The umbrellas improve nearly every location in the GH and make them look more lively. The other decorations are also cool. I wish there were more decorations to trade for luck essences, or at least more lunar-year decorations, or even some real cantha decorations ^^.

Sounds like u spend a lot of time looking at your guild hall. I on the other hand go to my guild hall once a month or less and have never seen anyone in there, the guilds i'm in aren't small with over 200 members in each. I would like to use essence of luck for what it was made for or something that benefits my toons in some way.

It would be a shame that Essence of Luck would also be useless. To be honest I don't see why they don't increase the cap, at 300% I don't get exo's at all so what difference would 400-500 or 1000% be.

I think the opposite Cerberus. The difference between 300 and 400/500 could be huge ( it's always a rng thing, but out of X you will get Y+1 instead of Y. The more you play the more it benefits ).

An uppgrade could be ok, i do agree, but it should be a huge gap to fill in order to get an extra +1%.The last 30 lvls are 30k exp. so 301% could be the amount needed from 0% to 300%.

Just to make an example about how long should it be.

With account mf I'm at 308% so I rly don't think 1% means that much when u can use boosters and food to take u will over 301%
