GW2 is really not that popular. Last proper mainstream exposure happened at launch 5 years ago. There was quick news flash month ago about how anet became anticonsumer and thats about it. Many people still think that game runs on biweekly update schedule or died after terribad HoT launch.

@Belorn.2659 said:@Boogiepop Void.6473Removing the title won't fix it. They could as easily kick you for "not performing good enough", "to low AP", "wrong class/build", or even "not in a confirmed fractal guild". There has always been and will always exist signals that people will use to estimate if a person is good or bad.

What would fix the problem is to eliminate the ability to kick members at the last part of an instance.

Just make party leader system, like squads have. I start the party - I own it. Simple. This will stop hostile takeovers like presented in this case and people not respecting LFG descriptions will be removed by its creator easily. This was a healthy game once but after raids this community is going down every day. I know Anet can fix it. They probably feel trapped now, because they don't want to be accused of abandoning more content, but once they understand what they've done 2 years ago when releasing Forsaken Thicket, they will abandon raids and our community will be healthy again :)

This has nothing to do with raids. Back at the start...this happened plenty in dungeons for not having enough AP.Even when there were instance owners. .there were trolls that enjoyed dissolving an instance.

This isn't a new problem at all.

So make party leader system :)

Was suggested many times when instanced content was relevant. People screamed that it will make game a wow clone.

@TheRandomGuy.7246 said:But the most of the content in gw2 is "push button, get loot". Majority of the content are easy events and bosses. A lot of people never saw their trait panel or used a build. So yes. You will have to unlock everything for everyone on their first login because this is how low the bar is.

If you insist on that position then there is no reasonable basis for discussion.

If you truly believe that "most of the content in gw2 is "push button, get loot"," and that sort of content is not what you want in a game, then why are you even here trying to mess it up for everyone that does enjoy this game? I would counter that there is a wide gulf between most GW2 content and "push button, get loot",

I never said that I don't want it in the game. Just stating the fact. Majority of the content is really easy. And your "silent majority" is very unskilled. So for your idea to work and not lock people out stuff and force them to do content they don't like (like it is now) you must give all rewards to everyone on login. Or well I guess you can give everything for doing any event in open world since everyone is able to do that.

@STIHL.2489 said:Look.. really, if you think the Bar is that low here, maybe you are just too awesome for this game, perhaps you might want to play a game that sets the bar a little higher with thrilling rides, and not full incompetent fartles fussing and fuming about who gets to ride the unicorn on the merry-go-round, and enjoying our Free Candy for no effort game.

We are talking about majority here. That does not mean that game has no content for "elitists". Its just not that good and released not that frequently.

  4. @Ohoni.6057 said:So no, it doesn't mean lowing the bar to the level of "push button, get loot," or any other strawman argument you care to make, but it does mean that it should be available through the same sort of challenge level that most of the content of this game is at, and that most of this particular game's players engage with on a standard basis. That is the baseline, that should be the standard by which all content is balanced.

But the most of the content in gw2 is "push button, get loot". Majority of the content are easy events and bosses. A lot of people never saw their trait panel or used a build. So yes. You will have to unlock everything for everyone on their first login because this is how low the bar is.

  5. @Ohoni.6057 said:The point is, you want to reward player engagement with the product, but you want to be flexible as to the method of engagement, because different players are engaged in different ways, and you want to have all of these players feel that they can meaningfully progress toward their goals.

Where do you draw the line tho. All goals must be achievable by everyone. Anything less promotes elitism and is not an option.

  6. @STIHL.2489 said:But see that exposes why the whole 'risk-reward' thing, has always been and always will be, a farce.

Yeah every game ever made is a lie and does not exist.

    @Deihnyx.6318 said:

    • Second, you want to make it accessible for those who don't possess skill X to access it through grind, ok. What about the other way around?

There are no other ways around. You just get everything unlocked on your first login. Game has no rewards, content is played for the sake of playing it. Game explodes in popularity and becomes new wow.

@PopeUrban.2578 said:Stihl, look, I don't understand why this is a difficult concept for you. If people specifically just wanted more loot they wouldn't be begging for content that makes it harder to get. They'd just ask for drops for the current level of content to be improved.

    Well, but if
    everybody
got more loot then it would just seem like the loot stayed the same.

If everybody gets more loot then everybody gets more loot.

Tho if you think about it... reward system in this game is so bad that getting more loot is actually a punishment.

@Ohoni.6057 said:I wouldn't mind seeing them add hard mode options, so long as it didn't make more/better loot available.

That would be an amazing train-wreck to watch. Not a single game designer would do that of-course but gw2 is special so there is hope.

Eh? I can name two Top title MMO's that already do this.

Name them. And the type of content.
