It wont be exactly the same as she's an NPC so they made her brows darker etc ... but it is the same face!

    looks nothing like it :-/

Well that's weird because the pic that is posted of the NPC looks almost exactly like my Warrior. And that's the face I used. Only difference being that this npc has darker eyebrows and , like myself, clearly used the custom sliders to change the default face. Getting this look shouldn't be hard using that face.

  2. There are a few bosses I can think of that frustrated me to no end but Ill focus on the Scruffy fight the OP is talking about. I also got frustrated with it to the point that I quit the instance. Guildie also had trouble with this and we partied up and finished it together on his account. I never went back and tried it again solo. I know that most dont have a problem with the story content and I have been previously criticized in forum for complaining about it .... But I agree with the OP's suggestions in making it a more enjoyable experience.

go buy 4 low level sigils or runes from the TP for under 1 silver and make sure there are no duplicates ( or save them from salvaging so its free) and throw them in the forge. you get 33% of your daily done and you get a mystic coin for 1 silver or free depending on what route you go.

    Good luck in completing Aurora!

Protip: you can use duplicates, just split the stack by holding alt and dragging the stack to an empty inventory slot.

    Thanks ;)

(You will have to copy and paste the link, as the forums don't allow links with parentheses.)

The only thing I can think of is that I have missed one along the way. Thank you for leading me back to the wiki though. I had checked, but I guess there are 3 or so pages on this and the one I looked at didnt have the info on the control points. I will make sure to hit them all next time I go at it.

  6. I'm very confused as to what I'm supposed to do with this achievement.

I have successfully completed New Loamhurst and Harvest Cascades 2/3 but whenever I do Saidra's Haven for 3/3 I do not get the mastery point nor does it check off in the list under Holding Back The Tide as being complete. I just finished it again literally 20 minutes ago for my 10th try and still .... nothing.

What am I supposed to do ? LOL I have defended it ... killed the champ .. gotten chests etc etc helped the Seraph get it back and hold it ... ideas? lol

Some of these commune Hero Points can be challenging for some of us. To many times I've(and many others) got into combat with mobs around a hero point, just to see others come along and commune and bug out while I fight for my life, and sometimes lose that fight, more then once!

So, Thank You, from all of us players who needed help at Hero Points/Mastery Points/ even the kitten berries in Bitterfrost, to all of the players who stopped to help out, even if it was only for a moment. While we may bug out instantly without saying 'ty' due to not wanting to get overwhelmed again, we do remember you, we recognize those who stop and helped out.

You are welcome <3 Myself and a lot of others in the community will always help. If I even see a downed player tag show up on map im immediatly on my way to rez. If you need anything whisper me in game. If I can help you, I will.

    Happy Hunting!

    Why I think Outfits are bad for the game;

    1. They allow no level of customization, with the exception of dyes.
    2. The purchase in the Gem Store is never worth it financially compared to Weapon Skins or Armor Skins, heck... even Glider and Mount Skins.
    3. Some of the outfits are tailored towards some races better than others, it's intuitive that Sylvari, Norn and Human get more aesthetic appeal than Asura or Charr.

    Why I think Outfits are good for the game;

    1. They help bring some Nostalgia and tie in Lore to customers like myself.
    2. They can bring in looks that are "out of world"
    3. They are purely cosmetic and offer no functional in-game differences.

I would propose that the GW2 Team heavily consider changing all outfits to individual armor pieces, and discontinue outfits how they are currently made. I know personally I would purchase more items from the Gem Store if they were individualistic armor pieces.

While Im happy to see you have a valid points on both sides of the debate, I don't think outfits should be converted to armor. The only change actually I see that I would like to make to outfits as a whole are to toggle the shoulders on/off as most of them are too big especially for female characters/races.

There are tons of armor sets:

    1. gemstore purchases
    2. 8 dungeons
    3. WVW /Pve skins
    4. Hall of monuments from GW1 players
    5. Cultural sets for all races
    6. Expansions (multiple sets)
    7. LWS Maps (multiple pieces)
    8. Legendary armorAm I forgetting any???

If you have acquired all of these, then I can see you wanting more. If you haven't then you can go after more skins in this way. Outfits should always stay outfits. Its easy to purchase and easy to wear. Looks great on lower level toons who have crappy looking armor unless they use transmutes and helps fund the gem-store. Such a popular topic yet with tall of the armor available I can never quite understand why people want the change?

    @Purgatori.3645 said:Hi guys.

I'm just wondering why there isn't a way to change ascended stats on back pieces like there is on armor and weapons. Not just LWS pieces you buy with map currency but pieces like Light of Dwayna that you craft etc.... I looked online after stat changing some weapons but I haven't found a way to do this. Did I miss something? If so pls link. If I didn't ... A net can you implement a way to do this? Or will it stay like trinkets where the stats are the stats? Lol

Easy answer is, Ascended armor uses a single model, and ascended weapons use a couple of standard models. So when you drop it in the forge the game doesn't care about what weapon you put in, only the model that needs to put out. With back pieces that doesn't happen. I mean you could drop in your light of dwayna and get back a Fractal Capacitor in return. Also because not all stats are available to all backs, it's complicated to make it work. For this to happen they'd probably have to add a new acquirable back item (probably through a craft process so that it has variable stats) and have all inputed backs on the Mystforge ouput that one.

Makes sense. It would be cool if A net would consider this.

To be fair, given how easy it is to get ascended, stat selectable backs from Bitterfrost Frontier, Ember bay and Bloodstone Fen. It would be too much work for little gain. Just salvage the old back, grab a new one from those maps, and transmute it to pretty.

Yeah ... Winterberries for days!!! Lol

They are sort of a hybrid:
    • Like rings, they can be infused.
    • Like armor, they can break.
    • Like trinkets, they cannot be transformed into another item with different stats. (Although there are two exceptions.)
    • Like trinkets, they are incredibly easy to acquire, especially from LS3 maps.

Ty for thus comment, makes total sense now. I think the bloodstone one can stat Change? Whats the other one?

  12. @RoseofGilead.8907 said:Back items are considered to be the same as trinkets, rather than a piece of armor or a weapon. I assume that its designation as non-armor and non-weapon is why it can't be stat changed in the forge. Maybe one day we'll get a way to stat change them, but at least we have many, many options for ascended backpacks.

We Do! :) I have couple that would be nice to change so I don't have to farm or craft for awhile (sometimes it seems that's all I do lol) but there are tons of them :) I do believe though that ascended stat changes should be across the board ... all items ... maybe one day!

  14. @HtFde.3856 said:It's now three days that I try to get this, the last, achievement done for the Griffon ... no luck. It's either:

    (1) I have the bounty but when I tag up I get three or four people joining so it's a no-go.(2) Someone else has it, pops it, notices "oh my - I can't solo it" starts to call for it in chat - usually no commander or mentor icon - and when you finally arrive - the location is a pretty far way from any of the sparsely situated waypoints (unless you know the shortcut) so when people arrive it's again only three or four and with a timer of, say, four to five minutes ... fail.

All the other achievements were doable since they're on a pretty predictable mechanism, usually close to a waypoint with people around. I get the feeling that some clever dev thought it would be fun to ram bounties down player's throats by including this in the griffon hunt - and - so much like Orr - it worked ... the first weeks when the mass of players was doing it. Now, a few weeks in, the map is what it is designed to be: a solo map - unlike HoT or Dry Top or the Silverwastes.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this achievement done?

Well ... to point out the obvious its Halloween season and Mad King Thorn is running around LA

Just be patient .... POF acheivements will be back in full swing after everyone has had thier fill of the Lab and the Clock Tower!

  15. @castlemanic.3198 said:Wasn't there just a thread with this exact question?

You'll want to get an item called the spearmarshals plea, which you get naturally as a part of the griffon collections, so if you started that, you're in luck. It starts you in vabbi at the griffon roost so it's a little inconvenient, but at least you can hop on a griffon to get out of there if you dont own one yet. Works across all characters of all levels.

EDIT: didnt notice how old the thread was, so its understandable that no one knew about the spearmarshals plea. Hopefully thats common enough knowledge now.

OMG I wish I had remembered I had this ... because once you get into Vabbi .. youll have the first WP unlocked and you can go backwards map by map till you get to crystal oasis wihtout doing story or using teleport to friend :3

  16. @hellsqueen.3045 said:Is it possible to get to the Crystal Oasis without using the story? If not, it really should be. With new Elite Specs that means the need for Hero Point runs, and for people who intend to unlock both whether they are using it or not will require more than just the usual Heart of Thorns run and even if you do all of the Heart of Thorns Hero Points, you would still need to have at least done an amount of normal map completion to even begin the Path Of Fire specs. We are able to run to the Heart of Thorns maps, there should be a way to reach the CO without having to do the prologue every time. Maybe a teleport zone on the airship for people who have done the Prologue first part of the story to get to Amnoon already. Just something, hell even getting a teleport scroll to to add the the Living World tome and change it to "Portal Tome" instead or something.

Ive done the story on one toon ...

Use LFG and teleported to a squad in the Crystal Oasis to get the WP ... other than that without the pass I dont think you can get into POF

  17. @"Enola B Twenty Nine.2631" said:So far, I love the expansion. Compared to HoT, I really enjoyed playing PoF, except until the past few hours. I am stuck looking for a single mastery point. I am on the "Find the remaining crystals of Vlast's body" story, and need to get "canyon jumping" mastery. I have just one more point so as to get the Springer Mount, but for the life of me, I can't find any "easy" accessible points. I have also been to Elon Riverlands, but these don't seem to be accessible either.

Am I missing something? I am sick and tired of wondering around the web looking for possible clues. Is there an exact number of easier accessible mastery's, and I am just missing them?

Sorry I never had any trouble getting these points, but she has an amazing guide to help you ....
