Release notes:
QuoteNatural Balance: This trait replaces Natural Stride. Deal increased damage and take reduced damage for a period of time after entering or exiting Celestial Avatar.
but the tool tip in-game only says *Condition Damage*
- Is the in-game text correct?
- If so, whhhyyyy?
I was eager to combo the damage adds on a daze druid, but looks like there's nothing here.
-
BP will go back to being a bridesmaid with a T1 host.
-
Side topic: would be a nice Untamed synergy if the triggered on “beast ability” was any of the Untamed controlled abilities. Because right now it’s never worth it.

Why is the roamming so filled of condi bunkers, pew pew rangers, SA thieves with scopophobia (fear at being seen) and barely something else, where's the diversity at this part of wvw?
Two factors1. Warclaw
2. DPS nerf
Warclaw meant you were going to get adds fast AND you wouldn’t be able to get away without stealth and trickeration.
DPS nerf from Feb last year meant you weren’t going to kill as fast as before. Hence more adds.
You have condi builds for taking on 2 or 3. You have rangers and thieves working the quick kill and GTFO angle. These are the most effective tactics available.

Roamers, what works for solo/small-scale roaming in alliances in 2022?
We all have bemoaned the decline of roaming, yet we keep coming back. I am wondering what maps and tactics are working for other addicted roamers.

Warclaw + damage nerf = always outnumbered

LB Barrage them from outside the gate. Nothing funnier than killing someone while the emote from the "safety" of a tower.

Hyjack attempt: I see this is PvP, but with Vallun's WvW 'Raid Boss Build' I JUST WON A 1V5 and I'm pumped.
I've changed a few things to make it a little more playable for me
- Rune of Speed plus Sigil of Agility on both weapons for perma-kite
- Plaguelands elite and use Unholy Skankuary to bait people in for the those tics
And really, I won 1v5 this morning with this build. You get a lot of stalemates, but when you win, you win big.

Woah, I forgot about Rune of Zeph. I'm going to try it! Thanks!

Also a good way to proc Ancient Seeds on an immob Druid

Norn's Become the Snow Leopard is clutch in
And Norn's Become the Bear used to be a meme-lord when SBs had even cheese DPS modification.

I was outraged at the balance patch / DPS nerf early in 2020. But it's driven me to be a better player in the end. I was relying on min/max style builds and now have to actually play mindfully.
(I am still pissed that pre-balance, I shredded every thief even on Durability Rune -- and now my core build is basically hard countered by any patient thief).
-
I am a diehard Core Ranger. I solo roam 95% of the time -- joining in the odd keep take/defense when it presents itself. I haven't had a problem with Sic Em SBs since the nerfs while roaming, but occasionally 1-shotted from a tower while fighting someone else. Now I understand.
I tried Sic Em Soulbeast again this morning. I one shotted anyone I got the drop on. And I was 3 shotted by anyone I didn't
This is essentially what I thought of the build coming in, that it was garbage for roaming, but great for sniping. I'll now slot Sic Em SB as my zerg build and take out anyone straying from their zerg... pew pew PEW.
-
complaining about pewpew in dec 2021????Excluding the time travel, I completely agree here. I run a glassy roaming spec that relies on building Protection, and if I get one shotted (and I have!) it's b/c I wasn't paying attention. SB gimmick is at most a stunbreak and dodge away from negated. The Sic 'Em build is only for the canon campers praying for kills.

The DPS nerf earlier this year made most fights longer and harder to 1vX. While that's generally better balance, combine that with mount and you will get adds unless you're willing to stand in the dueling spots waiting for /bows.
...
Another factor is time, tier, and map.
Primetime on EBG is not good for a solo roamer unless you're playing an ultra-mobile thief or a troll build. Especially a top tier which usually means more population.
Offtime EBG can be quite good solo for many builds. Easy run back to action on all sides.
Offtime BLs on low pop tier is a wasteland. If you like standing around watching Yaks trot, go for it.

Make that outside the enemy spawn, right?

Longbow/GS RangerJust stay core. Use tanky stats to begin with -- just learn to survive fights. Eventually add more and more DPS as you get a feel for it. Then you have one of the most effective and easy roamers.
-
The roaming food I want is fall damage reduction. Being able to use cliffs to avoid impossible outnumbered situations was clutch.
Part of the reason this was removed from the game was not every profession has access. This would solve that.
I would take no other stat on the food for this functionality.
-
Blue and Red are the best EBG territories to roam (and escape groups) so I pick Green.
-
I like it.Reset Thieves are out of control since the damage patch -- you can't kill them before they get out of range and reset. At least let us know where they're running to.
-
Core Ranger... but I'm biased, it's all I play :pWe are in a strong place right now. SB nerfed enough to not be required. Power specs have decent damage and still high survivability. 1vX has to be managed well, lots of extending, but it's doable. And LB pew pew is ultimate differentiator.
-
It can also mess with target nearest, so losing target (e.g., stealth) may require some cycling or mouse-clicks. I'm going to try this evilness.

Y'know, I would love to have an Animist from DAoC. This class would summon / plant these mushrooms that did insane AoE damage and CC. Post up in some small space, bait people to follow, rinse, repeat. So fun. So ridiculous in RvR/WvW.
How do you signal stalemate to a fellow cele bro?

I've been messing around with some cele builds (ya gotta try this fun before the nerf hammer drops) but when I run into another cele build we have to wait until someone adds onto the fight for it to end. I've tried `/sleep` but I've been whispered that's an insult / hypocritical b/c I'm using the same snooze build. They begin pressing keys harder to do more damage and fight continues.
Any other techniques for just agreeing to disengage?
