  1. It's simple. GW2, sadly, isn't exactly in a healthy state and hasn't been for a while.

Balance and fixes do not bring in any cash unlike new content and expansions and as such they have a lower priority.

It's just a cost evaluation. That's all there is to it.

  2. My biggest wish would be Signet of Rage being reworked to something similiar to this;

    Passive: Prevent adrenaline decay
Active: 10 adrenaline, 10 unblockable attacks, Attacks gain a follow-up strike for X damage that inflict 1 vulnerability for X seconds
    0.5s Activation time
    40s CD

Aswell as bug fixes (Arc Slice is still 130 range instead of 150) Arms rework and tools to go through the aegis/weakness/blind spamming.

  3. Pleasantly surprised. Still a lot of room for improvement, though.

Signet of Rage and Earthshaker especially come to mind.

In general, while the buffs are welcomed, I don't see this making Spb/Core/Zerk a competitive pick in games against plat+ players. Not until ranges on skills are fixed and aftercasts removed.

The one that always got me was people calling Full Counter OP when it was doing 2k damage (when it did 8-10k, it was legitimately OP). You are the one who hit it, don’t whine to me. Just don’t hit it and you’ll never have to deal with its “OP” effect.

Most people on the forums get stomped by Warriors in their current state then complain about it and get hostile towards anyone listing how many flaws and issues this class has or towards people asking for changes.

It's not surprising. Warriors are a no-kitten class. There's nothing that can objectively feel unfair in it's kit and is as bland as it can get to play against which results in people getting a big ego check once they realize the blame lies entirely on them for getting outplayed instead of having the easy way with complaining about the opponent's class. It's nothing new either, I still remember people complaining they died to GS/Bow builds back in 2012 just like they complain today about things like Bull's Charge.

Unironically, I think this is one of the reasons why Warriors (Outside of Bladesworn for marketing's sake) are in such poor state. It's easier to erase the class that forces people to realize they got outplayed than to have them constantly whine and thrash on the forums.

It is funny how they repeatedly hotfixed vindicator and willbender until they were dead (harb too but it's still decent) while we are going 3-4 months of specter stacking for MATs and nothing for them at all.

Specter being stupidly overpowered doesn't mean those classes you listed are dead, far from it. They're simply in Specter's shadow biding their time.

I feel the need for 2 stunbreaks against Warrior more than any other class. This is because, unlike Warrior, they rarely kill in 1 stun or do not have such strong setups. This is not negligible damage and it can happen on Core, Berserker, Spellbreaker, and Bladesworn.

This isn't to say core Warrior is strong. Just keeping facts straight.

I'm also tired of the "if you somehow manage to get hit" telegraph excuse. Yes, many skills are telegraphed. No, they're not all avoidable. Warrior has the tools to force dodges, stunbreaks etc. to ensure key skills hit.

What tools are you even talking about? You have Bull's Charge and Shield Bash that are mandatory to execute the burst setup and at most you have rampage to draw out cooldowns and stunbreaks with. A 120 baseline cooldown elite ability. You have to rely on gimmicks like stowing your weapon on Arcing Slice to bait people's dodges with, something that I can tell you from personal experience doesn't work against even bottom plat/high gold players.

I quite literally cannot recall the last time I got a warrior to even set up his burst sequence on me, let alone allowed him to execute it. You don't even need a single stunbreak all you have to do is to simply use map features such as LoS and dislevels to your advantage to completely negate the entire class. Stunbreaks are just the cherry on top if you kitten up or get baited

You being tired of getting told the truth doesn't change the facts nor the hard numbers presented by Spb/core/berserker representation (or complete lack-there-of) in any meaningful Spvp.

  7. I'd rework it entirely. It's useless every single piece of content outside of MAYBE low intensity solo open world builds and it's especially bad in pvp.

    Passive: 2adrenaline/2s
Active: 20 might for 4s, Fury for 6s, Swiftness for 6s.
    1s activation time
    40s CD

That's not even worthy of being a normal skill, let alone an elite skill that has to compete with Head Butt, Tactical Reload and Rampage.

    I would like to see it turned into a mainly small-scale oriented elite ability viable for all specs;

    Passive: Prevent adrenaline decay
Active: 10 adrenaline, 10 unblockable attacks, Attacks gain a follow-up strike for X damage that inflict 1 vulnerability for X seconds
    0.5s Activation time
    40s CD

    (Values are for PvP/WvW)

Even with all the bugs, and seemingly underpowered skills mentioned, warrior still hits like a truck.

No they really don't, unless you mean Bladesworn. And even then, Bladesworn's not renowned for their damage but for their bugs preventing avoiding of said damage.

On core/spb the most damage you can do with a perfectly landed combo on a target is around 15 to 17k. That's quite literally nothing when you factor in that landing a perfect combo is nearly impossible (No aegis, blind, evades, protection, weakness and other misc effects) and takes the entirety of your kit and weapons, aswell as being the class with the most telegraphed attacks and the slowest.

On comparison on Herald you can easily reach a 15k burst and exceed it by simply pressing Chilling Isolation, Shackling Wave into Unrelenting Assault with Enchanted Daggers and Impossible Odds active. And that's using 3 buttons with 2 pre-casts, it's not even half of the potential damage you can reach if you were to correctly employ the entire kit available to the class.

Warrior doesn't hit like a truck, the damage it deals is negligible if you somehow get hit by one in the first place.

i think the guardian trade off was losing firebrand in pvp. Lol I love how core guard is now meta and more played than everything but dragon hunter. At least from what I’ve seen.

Popularity doesn't always equate to strength. Support guardians (and tempest) are really the only viable support since Scourge was gutted. It's not like you have much other choice for competitive supports if you want one. It's either that or tempest.

So, it's exactly like Ronald said. "75% of people in the top 20" is not a massive game-wide problem, it's a problem that exclusively impacts a handful of people near the top of the leaderboard. Yeah, if you're shooting for a top-10 spot, then wintrading is going to be a big problem. But if you're in gold-1, wintrading isn't what's stopping you climbing to gold-3.

You do understand that exaggeration and hyperbole don't actually help your case, they hurt it. If you just kept it real on this issue, there'd be no debate. "The Boy Who Cried Wintrade" is a cautionary tale.

Wintrading isn't a problem only when aiming for those top spots. It affects everyone that's in gold and above due to the matchmaker having nothing to work with aswell as gold consisting of something like 80% of the active population at any given time. Especially later into the season.

It's really not that uncommon to find people in the top pages when you're in gold 3 and as such it's also not that uncommon to find the wintraders they are trading with and getting your match ruined because of it. It's actually fairly common if you play during off-hours as that is when they have an easier time to link up for the match trade.

No, it's not stopping somebody from climbing gold 3 but that doesn't mean it isn't affecting them aswell and making the climb far harder than it needs to be.

Situations like those tends to create hyperbole but that's every game's forum in existence, and if you can't extrapolate the truth from an argument that's on you not being informed enough on the situation in the first place. Something which, by the way, takes all of 2 minutes to open the leaderboards ingame to check how many new no-names have showed up in the last day or two.

Also, if you think 75% of the top 20 leaderboard being wintraded isn't a massive issue game-wide, I don't know what to tell you honestly. If anything that tells you how little Anet cares about sPvP and how little they care for their game in general if they're willing to allow such a staggering number of cheaters in any game-mode.

I'm sure all the two dozen or so players coming from Steam that are interested in this game's dead pvp scene are going to be simply thrilled at realizing that the vast majority of the top players aren't actually top players but just people wintrading, especially when those wintraders stand around doing nothing in their match at gold 2 because the matchmaker cannot function with this population to begin with.

A year ago when I was playing Plat 2 games, the same exact people that are in this thread were making the exact same complaints. Throwers and wintraders are a relatively small problem that is just blown out of proportion by the community. There might be 2 people in this entire thread that are actually of high enough ELO for it to matter. And even then it is blown out of proportion. To say 3/4 of the matches are wintraded is wild. Just wild.

It's really not a "small" problem. You're the only one that believes this for whatever reason.

Me and a friend were talking about this problem so we went and checked the leaderboards. Something like 75% of people in the top 10-20 places were no-names with 85% win rate and barely making the cut with the required games to show up. One had a winrate of almost 91%. Two days before it was the same thing with different names.

Funny enough, we both play late at night duo so we constantly get matched with these other people and let me tell you something, they aren't the kind of people that get those win rates through skill. Even in pure skillbased 1v1 competitive RTS games there's barely ANYONE even getting close to 80% winrate, let alone EXCEEDING it.

    Wintrading is a massive issue.

  12. Because the class is outdated in almost everything it does while other classes are kept up to date, because of having received unjustified nerfs due to Especs (brace for the incoming nerfs to core due to Bladesworn), because classes over time have gotten copy-pastes of warrior abilities but updated to keep up with current metas so they're just straight up better.

One quick example off the top of my head of this is Rush and Phantom's Onslaught. The latter is just a copy-pasted Rush with it's bugs fixed, additional effects slapped ontop, a faster activation time and less cooldown.

Who knows, maybe with recent developments something might change in the upcoming patch but I doubt it'll bring anything outside of Bladesworn nerfs that will, inevitably, end up nerfing the Core class.

  13. People suggesting to remove duoQ because of Wintraders perfectly show how bad the situation has become. Willingness to remove social features in an mmo because they know full-well Anet is more willing to harm their own game rather than fixing this massive issue.

All they need to do is hire a couple people that go through reports and investigate them. These wintraders get reported dozens of time a day because they don't even bother hiding anymore. There's absolutely no excuse in the world for this atrocious game experience to continue any longer.

Reminds me of WoW's LFG tool being 95% people selling carries (including RMT) and 5% actual people using it for it's intended purpose.

  14. I am sure that Bladesworns overperforming due to bugs removing counterplay is a perfect counter-argument to a whole class being in the shitter for as long as 2015 outside the first couple months of an expansion where Especs are purposefully overtuned so Anet can sell their product.

Not to mention there's barely any good Bladesworn because the vast majority are random fotm rerollers thinking they're going to ride it high.

Unlike Warriors, Mesmers have multiple builds that are viable for all brackets, aswell as having an arguably S tier spec for dueling with Virtuoso. Especially once Bladesworn gets fixed and nerfed, which is going to be soon.

@op You can easily get to plat 2-3 with any mesmer spec outside of core.

Mesmer's been terrible since February 2020. It'll be 3 years in 5 months. I feel like so many players have started playing the game that wanted to try Mesmer, realized it was terrible, and quit in that time period. I think every class should have a chance at being meta sometime. I realize Mesmer has been oppressive in the past, but it really feels like Anet is just like, "You want to play mesmer in PvP? Try a different game." Not only has Mesmer been not meta, but its just straight bad now. The best Mesmer spec in PvP is virtuoso, and that spec doesn't really provide anything for a team. The other Mesmer specs just feel very under-tuned to play. I think if Anet is that scared to buff Mesmer, maybe they should do some reworks? Like rework infinite horizon, and bring back mirages second dodge or something...

Things could be worse. You could be a Warrior, for example

    Ummmm gear makes no difference

Except it clearly shows the player has never used that character for longer than 30 seconds if they couldn't even be bothered to transmog nor dye it.

Unsurprisngly, every time I find one of those people in my matches they stand around doing nothing or suicide constantly. Wonder why 🤔

    Let's call a spade a spade here.

  17. People make trash talking and toxicity in pvp look like it's the norm but in reality it's not. Not even close to it, in fact.

I play this game almost exclusively in competitive pvp around plat and very, very rarely have I seen anyone actually being toxic and insulting for no reason. Each and every single time someone got called an idiot or got trash talked it was 100% warranted because they were either trolling or blatantly win-trading.

Pro tip for not getting trash talked: Do the very base minimum that's required of you and don't queue competitive matches on a class you barely have 10 games on with level 15 white gear.

  18. Warrior needs a full modernization, which realistically is never going to happen because Anet cannot monetize overhauls to core and past elites.

The class is simply outdated in every aspect. From weapons to traits and active abilities, there's very little that keeps up with the times. Abilities with ridicolous aftercasts, windups, channels, 300s traits, little to no group utility, no relevant boons, no ranged or condi options.

I'd settle for having literal notepad+ changes. Adding evasion or protection to Rush, resolution/resistance to Shield Stance. Simple changes to give warriors some staying power in a fight would do wonders.

  19. I've always mained Core Warrior and always enjoyed playing it, however doing so in any form of competitive pvp (Which is my main go-to) is simply impossible, unless I put in thrice the effort for less than half the results compared to quite literally any of the other classes. Minus core Ele which has been maimed just as much by Anet.

So yes, I do enjoy playing my class. I simply do not enjoy what the game has become and haven't played for more than a few days without taking 7+ month long breaks since Path of Fire released nor have I bothered to throw money down the drain to buy EoD.
