The first class I logged into after the patch was my scourge and the shade nerf is terrible and ineffective. What is the point of having three shades when you can only summon one or two before they disappear.

Been like this in competitive for years.

  2. When you replaced boon corrupt from dagger mainhand, you gave it 3 boon rips to compensate.

Why are axe and spiteful spirit 1 to 1 then? And you completely removed all boon corrupts from dagger offhand and weakening shroud.

At least be consistent with your awful changes.

real reapers don't use blood magic, they go full big pp damage with spite and soul reaping with PvE gear and no stunbreaks.

Anyway just cc the reaper as soon as they enter shroud.

nah just wait till their 3s of stab runs out then cc them. Or just run away cause reaper is slow af in shroud, or out of shroud for that matter.

Assuming op is an engi main. How he is having trouble with necro when he has perma superspeed and grenade kit is beyond me.

I wonder if they ever feel shame, or embarrassment, or if there's any type of disciplinary actions taken on employees who are asked to balance the game by listening to community feedback. When they don't listen and implement the same changes anyway, is there no one at a-net who judges them by the quality of their work? Is there no accountability?

If the aura changes on signets go through, and the quickness on sphere changes goes through, it's a straight up slap in the face to the entire spvp community, as well as a slap in the face to the owners of NCSoft.

Best we can do is be loud outside of the gw2 community. Tell people thinking about playing this game to not bother wasting their time on this garbage. The worse the company does that can be attributed to the awful job the balance team is doing, the more likely their will be actual change.

Can we be sensible here? Is core ele or Weaver busted in sPvP? No? Is it just cata and tempest? Yes.

Do they both have mechanics that allow them to spam auras? Could that potentially be the problem?

Address the stuff that's causing the issues, there's no need to touch stuff that will further hurt core ele and Weaver (like rock barrier, swirling winds etc).

Hmm I'm sure the other classes would like to have a free 250 toughness on their weapon skill so they can run full berserker without worrying about building any toughness.

You think people forgot that sword weaver can sidenode 3v1 or FA weaver can delete people in <2s? The reason weaver doesn't see play right now is it is overshadowed by catalyst.

"I think Catalyst is fun to play once you get the hang of it. But... that perma stability is pretty OP in WvW or PvP if you ask me. The thing is... while they get perma stability, they also get offensive and defensive boons at the same time which make them "un-killable" technically."

"How is it fair for other classes to try to play against Catalyst?"

Yea boon corrupts were so overpowered, just look at all the boons catalyst relies on. We can't have that mean necro take that away. Good job 🤡M🤡!

    • Binding Shadow: Reduced cooldown from 30 seconds to 20 seconds in PvE and from 30 seconds to 25 seconds in PvP and WvW. This skill now immobilizes marked targets instead of knocking them down. "

you know we already have a venom for this? why duplicate the skill?

You realize this skill is also still 1200 range removes boons and applies poison and vulnerability?  It was bloated with the knockdown on top of that.

Personally I would have kept the knockdown and removed the poison, and boonrip. Then remove the immob on marked targets.

Well, sure ... but ultimately, that's determined by Anet, not biased players that will say anything and ignore Anet's balance philosophy to justify any change they want.

I mean, you can imply whatever you want based on how the game should work. I think it's evident Anet has other plans and you would be doing yourself a big favour to get more familiar with how they operate.

What do you think is the point of the forums? Im providing feedback based on my experiences in the game.

Anet is not perfect, they don't have a crystal ball that tells them how they should balance the game. That's why they solicit feedback.

What confuses me is why you are so hellbent on accepting everything anet does.

NO I understand that just fine ... what I also understand is that this is the thing that makes necro not bad in competitive game modes.

Again ... NO one is a threat when they are dead so what you just implied here is that everything that can die is underpowered?

Balance has to consider the capabilities of peers surrounding a class. I merely implied all classes should have the ability to defend themselves rather than rely on a support to babysit.

No, that's you're take and your logic. I didn't say ANYTHING about having zero defense.

The reality is that necro isn't bad because it is a threat to teams, even good ones, a significant one ... and if that's balanced by 'mobility' or 'sustain' deficiencies, that's probably and reasonably intended. The fact is that you are trying to justify removing deficiencies necro has just because you don't like them, not because it makes the class bad.

But ... if you don't like those deficiencies or can't handle them, well, you have choice. Again, sounds to me like you just make bad choices for yourself.

What you fail to understand is that a profession can be threatening if left alone, but completely fall apart when faced with any pressure. I would consider that underpowered because, get this, you aren't a threat when you are dead.

Sure I realize that (which means if a necro can do that effectively, it's not as bad as you want to make it sound). I also see it has nothing to do with the criticism I have with your post. Again, you can't sit there and tell me people are focusing necros in teams first because they are bad in competitive game modes. OBviously their is something about necros that make them a threat to be primary targets, which means they aren't 'bad'. You also can't conclude that necro is bad because of an expected outcome from a standard competitive encounter that would affect other classes in similar ways. That would mean ALL classes affected by these expected outcomes in these standard encounters ... are also 'bad'.

Those things don't make sense. These statements lack objectivity and are exaggerations.

This is such a bizarre take. By your logic a class could have zero defense and would not be considered bad because people would target them first.

Hold on. This again ignores the fact that people use Necro successfully for some aspects of competitive play. I mean, you are going to tell me Necro is bad and ALSO tell me people focus necros in teams first. Something about that just doesn't make much sense does it. If necro is so trash ... no good player would focus it at all because having a necro would be of no consequence to a team or it's opponents if what you say is true. In otherwords, the general statements about how bad necro is just some sort of confirmation bias, which is more easily crushed by actual objective assessments and data about necro usage. Probably exactly the kind of data Anet is using to make the changes we see.

I'm going to guess that based on some of the nerfs necro have been getting over the last few years on the competitive side, the picture you paint about necro capabilities isn't very accurate.

You realize a class can still do damage despite not having the tools to keep itself alive. It's almost as if you let a class free cast it can have impact on the teamfight. Wow! What a concept! Now if you try to focus a free-casting ele you're gonna be met with 20s of chained evades, blocks, and invulns. So your options are continue wasting time against the ele, or focus the slowass necro with no stability.
