[Lag Spikes/High MS]

Same for me. I came back to the game around this year April and started experiencing lag spikes since the elite spec beta. However, the lag spikes will only happen during specific hours. My ping is normally at a stable 270ms but during these hours, it goes up to about 700ms with occasional spikes if playing solo. Large meta events are not playable during this time.

[I just bought the Commander's tag and would like to lead a zerg in WvW]

I don't plan on using Discord or anything; I just want to tag up and run around capping objectives. My current WvW rank is just 320 and I literally know nothing about WvW tactics. My current plan if I meet an enemy blob is to bum rush them (if we are a large group) or evade/port away (if we are a smaller group). Also I ran WvW almost fulltime for the last 4-5 weeks already and kinda know the best spots to place catapults to take down keeps and towers.

 

Is there any tips I should know? Or should I just wing it and hope people don't flame me? 

 

Edit: Forgot to mention, I typically only play solo. So I plan to just tag up and let players join.

Depends on what you mean by "winning".

 

If you mean paying so you are able to stomp your opponents in WvW and PvP, or outdps your peers in raids, then no, you cannot pay to win.

 

If you mean paying to get shiny looking armor or mounts which functionally are no different from the f2p options, then yes, you are able to do so.

Can confirm this bug. I did Dragonstorm 11 times, 3 on private and 8 on public. Encountered this twice already on public.

I am happy to report that I no longer experience the persistent lag spikes first experienced since mid-Feb. My latency is back to a smooth 250ms since Friday :blush:

@JoanVT.8567 you mean my server name? It's Henge of Denravi (NA). My timezone is UTC+8, and the lag spikes normally starts at around 11am (UTC+8) to about 10pm (UTC+8). Converted to Central Time Zone, it's about 9pm to 8am.

just out of curiousity, were you playing during the early hours? say between 6am-11am when it was fine?

my experience is that it gets bad noon onwards.

The lag spikes seem to have vanished today and I am back to normal latency of 250ms. Not sure what happened but I hope this is the end of the issue.

Edit: Oh well, lag spikes are back again the next day. :(

I am a Malaysian player currently experiencing consistent high latency (400-1000+ ping). Usually I get about 250 ping. The lag started since Exalted Support content was launched a few days ago.
