They told us 3 years ago exactly how they balance the game.  Their friends and a chosen few complain that "X" class is unfair.  They Nerf the hell out of whatever class/skill caused them distress.  Buff what makes them happy. Then laugh at us on the forums complaining that the changes make no sense.

You have to keep in mind the Balance Team's Goals in balancing.  They make sure that they and their 5 friends are all happy and they nerf to the ground any class that they can't 1 shot.  The leak told us what they're doing, all we have to do is remember it.  That's why I'm playing Witcher and other games,  because Anet told me flat out my favorite class doesn't matter.

The most telling part of this entire thread is that despite being tagged twice not one mod or dev has felt the need to address the 4 pages of complaints and concerns here.  They don't care.  The only thing that will wake them up is if people stop giving them money.  I used to spend a couple hundred a month on this game for years and was glad to help support it because it was a great game.  Then between the hatred for mesmer that started a couple of years ago and the devs balancing for them and their friends instead of what benefits the game the most I closed my wallet and haven't spent a dime since.  If everyone did that and listed why both in the forums and game it might actually get it through their heads that the behavior isn't acceptable.  I'm not buying the next expansion unless something gives.

I've responded with this before but it still holds true, if you take into account the leak that devs balance based on the input of 5 or 6 people and don't listen to the people playing the game, all of this makes sense.  They don't balance for players, they balance based on what helps the friends they play with.

What I can't believe everyone is forgetting is the balance devs leaked conversations stating they balanced based on a few friends.  The balance team never went with what was best for the game or the community just whatever benefited them.  When you remember that point suddenly a lot of design choices make sense. I used to play this game every day since beta and Mesmer was my favorite class.  I spent untold thousands of dollars on the game.  Now I can't even bring myself to login because of what they did to that class because of their friend's input.   I still look at the Mesmer forum to see if it's gotten any better and it's time to come back but I am always disappointed by the still constant nerfs on what is the most unique class in any game I've played.  I'm sure this will get removed shortly because you can't bring up the truth here.

I am working on an open world condi build and would like some advice from the people that know Engineers best.   Also, the gear and trinkets are all stuff I can reasonably get right now.  I plan on working up to full ascended but that will take some time and I'm looking for a realistic build to start with.

    The mood, as I read it, it pretty low, feeling that nothing will come of out feedback. An announcement would really help the communication with the player base, by making them feel heard and knowing what they can expect.

    I have been reading the thread and the issues raised are fairly consistent and can easily be summarized into a few main bullet points. I would just like to know how you as a company feel about the issues raised.

    I can cover this one even though I am in no way affiliated with ANet. They Don't. Just like the other times the community was pissed off they will ignore it until it blows over. It never changes, They no longer care what we have to say. All of the feedback they received after the announcement and they did not care. It is no longer anything but a product to make money off of. They don't care if they lose people because there will always be people that will buy things and the ones they lose aren't a concern anymore.

As someone that has more Norn characters then any other race, Kill Braham, make it painful as hell , I really want him to suffer badly for making all Norn look like Whiny, Drunk, Spoiled Mamma's Boys without a single redeeming quality. Sometimes when I'm in a cut-scene and he's there being his usual whiny ***hole self, I have to skip it because otherwise I will put a greatsword through my monitor. He dishonors Eir every time he's on my screen.

  9. How about this, The clones still appear, but they literally do everything you do only no damage. You dodge, it dodges, you use scepter it uses scepter, etc. All the Damage comes from you but the attacks "Hit" at the same time giving the illusion of not knowing which one is the player until it's destroyed. Damage is now easily balanced but the theme of Mesmer is retained. Just my dumb idea.

    I actually switched to Renegade after Anet destroyed Mesmer... Again... It's not even close. I do 5-7k more DPS with 50% of the effort. Mesmer is in the worse spot since Beta.

    ye Medic is getting HARD reading these changes, ill add my own.Mind Stab it deals damage AND removes a boon.

  12. I can't even stand to login anymore. Anet sent me a survey and I told them as much, I have contributed $50-$100 per month on this game buying gems but they took my favorite class and trashed it. Now they don't even have the decency to respond to any of the posts asking for an explanation. I switched to playing other games. It kills me to see how pathetic the class that I have spent a lot of hours, and money on. I don't know who at Anet decided to implement this B.S. but they shouldn't have a job anymore. Obviously no one there plays mesmer. I have been playing since beta, I can't even bring myself to login for daily's anymore. I keep visiting the forums and reddit in the hopes of some good news, every patch seems like nothing more then another kick in the Kitten. I know Anet doesn't care about the little amount of money I contributed in the grand scheme of things, but I refuse to support this madness.

  13. It's been said elsewhere but it needs to be said again, the only explanation that makes any sense at all is they wanted to kill off all of the HOT specs so people would be forced to buy POF. The more I read about the patch the more it seems like this is the case. I can't bring myself to even open the game anymore for daily's. They killed both my Reaper and my Chrono.

    The answer is that there are HoT owners that still has not bought PoF. This cannot stand. So Chrono must die in all engame modes.

    I hope this isn't true but it is the only reason that makes any sense at all on why they would treat chrono this way.

I'm currently on the saddle and I am having a hard time finding motivation to play when I know I'm going to be spending the entire time on one map farming currencies. Up to the point of the Saddle was a pain and I hated it but I could live with it. The saddle is just a kick below the belt.

  16. The best part of all of this is ANET's lack of any forethought at all. Think of all the money they're going to lose out on because of the people that won't finish this collection for months or at all. I'm not going to spend 2000 gems on skins when I won't have it before the end of the year because I can only play for a few hours a week.
