Don't you dare tell me I am the only one that gets a free ride on this one. I refuse to believe it.

If you didn't think this would cause an issue for a lot of people, you would't have come to the forums specifically to a thread that talks about this requirement.

  2. Well now that all the time-gated stuff is out of the way, I can work on the other stuff at my leisure knowing that I won't ever hit a "sorry there's nothing to do but wait" wall in any sitting. I really wanted this thing to actually play the game. But the way this collection has been, and it's ending will mean I will probably not want to look at GW2 aside from PvP at all by time I'm done with it.

That's how feedback works, usually. You're not forced to comment.

I meant you confused demonstrably false with your opinion it's false.

And I guess intuitive means something different to each person, as I haven't had the missing the top of a landing issue after messing around with ability 1. It shoots you past your normal stopping point might mean it gets you over those spots people might just miss.

They both are good at their area. I don't think one is better than the other. And SS certainly isn't bad as people are saying Especially once masteries are available. As someone who is generally on Griffon using it to jump, short glide and clear gaps even though it's slower than raptor, I can easily say for what I mostly use Griffon for now SS will replace. And now will only take out Griffon for distance and speed. Though I wouldn't mind any buffs to SS as it would only make it better and who would turn down 'better.'

I will take SS over Springer any day. And will be Superior to Griffin except for low jumps, and distance flying/gliding. Even then it has to be pretty big distance or trying to achieve a lot of air because barrel roll dash and dipping speeds to movement and distance greatly on SS.

In those cases will likely climb on SS and then swap to Griffon. The things I normally use Griffon for now will be replaced with skyscale, since I rarely have the chance to whiz across a whole map with Griffon.

The weird and counter-intuitive mount action only solves 1 minor issue (and I'm still not sure about it if you have to press S).

Everything else you said is demonstrably false or just your own personal preference.

    You misspelled "opinion".

And the mount is objectively worse then the springer. The auto grab makes it less viable to climb odd walls that the springer can overcome thanks to the ability to land on small ledges.

Um. No it's not. The SS can climb anything the Springer can, and additionally, places that have no flat landing to use. The Springer is just faster at it--and even then that's because they buffed the spring time to keep it competitive. And don't use gated behind mastery as an excuse, since the Springer's bigger jump is gated behind a mastery as well.

@Melian.5368 said:Timegating is one thing but making players depend on RNG just to be able to complete the collections is another crime in itself. In the Claw of Jormag boss event a lot of people can't progress because darned elementals don't freeze them due to the sheer number of players, pets and minions around.

That description is misleading. You don't need Claw of Jormag for that.

Nothing misleading about the description. It's just people these days have such horrible reading comprehension they can't handle multiple options presented at once. It clearly says the 2 options you can use.

  8. My 2 cents, because I came to forums specifically knowing there was going to be a lot of outrage at this timegating thing.

Seriously, ANET, bad move. There is absolutely no reason to timegate this crap, yet there you go pulling some Blizzard BS. Company always trying to arbitrarily extend the time of crap--for what? Usually I'm constantly in playing a lot of hours. But now if I'm not specifically working on this crap SS I will not log into your game. Don't even want to think of the mental gymnastics your developers perform to come to a conclusion that people will look at the timegate aspect of this collection and go "oh, ANET you guys sure are the best. This is SOOOOO fun." Having a sense of urgency hanging over your head to complete tasks before a reset so you don't get stuck waiting extra days to complete. Timegating mechanics do the opposite of promote taking your time because you can't do at your leisure if you hit arbitrary wait walls. You can take this new episode and shove it. Detest this crap you developers pull.

Maybe one day you game developers will actually be able to imagine good content without restricting players from actually playing that content.TL;DR this SS collection might have been fun. Timegating just leaves a sour taste.

So you can make a feisty silvary, a gloomy asura, a menacing human or a suave charr. Or whatever combination you want. If you want a shining paladin, you can make it with any of the races. If you want a gray anti-hero, you can make it with any of the races.

That is the main problem with Largos, Drows or any group that is, by default, forced into a single stereotype. Put a Largos on land, and you lose half what makes them interesting. Change them into a frilly robe, and you lose another 25%. Now make such robe chick yellow, and bam, you've lost 95% of what makes a Largos a Largos.Go back to the beggining. Put your Largos in water, with its black leather on and its dangerous voice. Now take that mask off. You have now a wet human with a funny backpack and cool clothes. Bye bye 100% of Largosness in just one stroke.

Stereotypes doesn't make good characters, but they are even worse for making races.

Every race has a stereotype. You just need to allow individuals of that race subvert it. The problem with largos specificly is that alot of their alure is in the mystery surrounding them and allowing us to play them would mean loosing that alure.

While anet could reveal that what's under the mask is also very interesting, largos would still loose something and we can only say if the price was worth it in hindsight.

I'd hope it would be a bunch of shark-like teeth made for tearing up fish and other prey raw. And sharp claws under the gloves for same reason.

@Mortymes.7139 said:So Ion said we wouldn't get HIgh Elves in WoW, so how about High Elves introduced in Guild Wars? Most games have elves in their fantasy, but GW has no elves at all.

You do have High Elves in WoW though. That's how the Blood Elves used to call themselves before they left the alliance for the horde.

That's not good enough for them. They want the blue eyes. I've been playing WoW along side GW2 but won't be going into the new expansion. They have 4 playable elves now in Nightelf, Void Elves, Blood Elves and Nightborne. Blood Elves, now that the story fixed their well are LITERALLY High Elves with green eyes. That's the only difference. But they want a whole new playable allied race added. When they only need let them change their eyes to blue.
