Second, they're forced in to the EoD story so awkwardly and every step they're involved with is a painful slog exacerbated by bad, ceasless dialogue. The story is enough of a chore to play through on it's own.

GW2 is a story centric MMO. Almost every release comes with a solid chunk of story in both living world episodes and expansions. If the Story is a chore to play, why are you playing this game?

As for the "skiffs are used to sell skins" meh, game has no sub fee, I'll happily just ignore the gem shop skins to not pay a sub fee.

As for "skimmer better". Can you stand on it and fish?

I like reaching hard to get to fishing holes with the boat, its fun.

    Hello all,

I might be in the minority here, but I play Guild Wars 2 on a Steam Deck.

Since the most recent patches, I have been getting pretty consistent crashes when starting the game. It takes maybe 5-6 login/crash cycles on character select before the game will actually load.

Not sure what happened with the latest patch, but hopefully someone can look at this. Might be an edge case, but more and more people play on SD.

I play in desktop mode on the 512 GB Version of the SD.

    Hope this can be addressed.

    Thanks

Whenever I boot the game on deck, a message comes up saying "blah blah not responding" and I click wait and it works every time.

Are you using Steam Proton or Lutris?

I can't speak for anybody else. Here's the thing: I had already bought two other games on Steam during their summer sale, and I had just enough in my gift card balance. Now if you're still concerned about ArenaNet being supported, I later bought two Name Change contracts.

I'm not at all worried about the game being supported. Steam has benefits like not needing to remember another password, track playtime and works with Proton without any fiddling.

I'm specifically asking about Amazon but yes the left over giftcard thing makes sense 🙂

  4. Hi,

Unsure where else to post this.

For over a month I had an inconsistent issue where I was unable to use Skills or interact with objects. It was not a delay, I would wait over 5 minutes for my basic skill 1 to activate and it never would. It was a disconnect but It would not kick me from the game.

I have now fully fixed the issue by setting my modem/routers 5Ghz network to a static band / not having the WiFi band set to auto.

Those minor band changes caused me to fully disconnect it seems even when YouTube and Discord would not even show signs of a hiccup.

If there's a better place for me to post this, let me know.

I think the main problem would be handling APs. There are tons of people who did not hit AP gate + dailies are easy slow AP cook right now. Unless they merge it into Vault dailies as well

This is 100% my only concern. I have like 7K daily AP out of the cap of 15K. AP is entirely why I play the game. Make number bigger is fun. I'm fine if Dailies stop giving AP After the cap of 15K but for those of us who havnt yet hit the cap, are we just kittened?

Anyways, we will find out in like 4 weeks time or whatever so I'll just keep doing dailies until then.

  6. Yo that kittens funny tho. It shows the graphics, the games name, and a mount. Its enough for some players to go on a rabbithole search.

I agree but, its been said thousands of times, gw2 needs more advertising and to be fair with EoD, they did step it up a fair bit but still not enough IMO.

As much as it is cringe, I think the game would benefit alot from an anime or movie crossover event. Warcraft and FF do well because they had a large, genre-defining fanbase before they became an MMO.
