Just more hitting Golems and tweaking numbers stuff. It's cool and useful and all but I want things to actually feel better and more fun in ways beyond just "this can be used more often" or "this does this damage now." Some things I don't use not just cuz damage sucks but because they just don't feel good mechanically. Most of which I've mentoned already plenty of times, including wishlist.

The game has shifted design philosophies from "what's awesome and fun!? Let's do that!! Omg we have the most unique MMO ever let's keep it up!" to..."let's focus on numbers because of reasons..."

Re Dishonour Time out I like that idea, you gain it after not doing anything for 15 seconds after spawn at base, and it drops when you reengage in a fight after say 10 seconds of combat.  At end of game if you had dishonour flag for more than say 2 minutes in total then you lose all rewards and your name is flagged as dishonourable discharge.

And up the rewards for participation. And make the individual intelligible for achievements

    People struggle with height.

I like the underwater stuff, but people really struggle with that extra dimension.

They do?? It's really not that difficult lol and UW combat is so much fun. Some of my most memorable moments are PVP underwater combat and underwater fractal. Come anet! Do something with it!!!

  4. I really love the auto attack and the concept of any kind of arc lightning FINALLY being added to the game in some way...

Before the weapon beta event started, I was playing the Diablo IV demo and was realizing "it would be so cool if gw2 had some arc lightning attacks expanding out to foes".

The canister skills are cool in concept but are clunky in application for "in-combat" gameplay. They are great for a set-up, but after the set-up and initial attacks, I think it falls short.

  5. They missed an opportunity to include arch lightning that damages an AOE or bounces between enemies for lightning attunement. Lightning is very boring. Earth seems okay. Fire deals good damage, but is boring. But also has the most fun #2skill which is saying a lot. And I forget water exists.

It seems more of a focus on practicality than fun. Which now seems to be a reoccurring theme.

This ain't even my thread, so I don't know the answer. If y'all don't see the issue because how small the issue looks to you, then I can't change your minds. My stance is that having a currency cap just hampers the consumer's freedom of choice, but I'll just pick gold and Ascended stuff 'cause l don't need anything else at the moment. I was just filling in the blanks for the OP since I commiserate with their problem.

Preach! Game design should focus around consumer/player freedom. Along with how can we have more fun. The masses would flock!

Coming from the stream, ele change are so ... weird.

Power overall need much more love than condi, power weaver will bench lower than reaper with this patch.

Also "massive" buff to a weapon that is already good.

Also no change to the clunky tempest, already the least popular alac heal in the game. (edit : nvm it's a nerf with scepter water 3 nerfed. Lol.)

I just don't understand this part at all.

Most ele changes are great. I love the scepter changes. Except water trident.

  8. I actually enjoy gw2 collections. They have done a really good job getting creative in this area. Some are stale, but most are fine. Your argument that collections don't respect player time, I think, is backwards. In my opinion collections actually respect player time by allowing players to chunk out their time for one specific item. That way gradual progress can be made while not having to commit fully. Leaving room for stepping aside as you get one piece of the collection and enjoy another aspect of the game (pvp, wvw...). I would only suggest that it becomes less of a grind fest and they come up with ways of keeping it fresh, unique, and enjoyable. Which is a hard task.

  9. Just made new account and new character. My ele at level 5 is almost oneshotting the same level baddies. So it is not unique to max level characters. Not to mention, you are automatically set to the level in a lower zone. This means, a level 80 character in a starter zone is automatically set to the low level. The game evens out the game for everyone. The devs thought of that. Just accept that GW2 is the best MMO ever, and keep at it! 😉

We'll see I suppose.  Inevitably GW2's time will come to an end so one way or another I'd like this franchise's design philosophy, and preferably its setting as well, to continue on somehow otherwise I'll likely have to give up on MMOs as the common designs like gear treadmills and the like are unplayable for me.

Same. If the Guild Wars world comes to an end...so does my gaming career. Nothing else even comes close to guild wars. It's sad.
