  1. Warrior needs much more attention than being bannerwhores. Apparently, people are happy with Anets mediocrity when it comes to Warrior updates. I mean I get it, we haven't had any for so long, any updates seem like a blessing from the Six, but in actuality, it's just kittening crumbs. This kitten is just, well kitten, at this point.

  2. Everyone just change to EoD specs, that's what they want. If it wasn't they would balance EoD specs with Core, HoT, and PoF specs. But they don't. Instead they buff EoD specs and nerf the other specs. If you want to be a warrior, ranger, mesmer, or especially an elementalist that wants to run a core or older expac spec, kitten YOU!, switch to an EoD spec, because we're done with balancing/making viable the rest. "Play how you want" is kitten when it comes to classes. I know this, You know this, and the stupid kittens at anet  know this. Just switch to Mechanist. That's what they like and promote based on the leaked discord chats. Sorry kittens.

We badly missed the mark with banner changes in the June update

You guys have badly missed the mark on WARRIOR changes for years, so don't colour us surprised or sympathetic to your sudden  realization. We'll save that for when you guys actually pull your head from your kitten and give us some decent changes/updates.

  4. I'm sure this will get moderated. And I'm sure it's been said at least once in this thread. But, you dumb kittens some how managed to out Ranger the Ranger with the Mechanist. Unkitteningbelievable!!! Just when I think you guys can't out stupid yourselves, you go  and prove me wrong! Can we get a fix? While you're at it, can we get some fixes on the 300s cd traits you Smiter's Boon'ed?

Hi, the good news is there is simple temporary fix. It has already been shared on the forum but it is worth repeating as it is now buried beneath a wall of text:

-Open your Guild wars 2 install directory.
-Create a shortcut to your Guild Wars 2 client (the executable you need to target is "Gw2-64.exe"), name this shortcut "Gw2-64_windowed.exe" to avoid confusion.
-Right click on the new shortcut and select "Properties" (it may have a different name in different language)
-In the text area labelled as "Target", that's the first text area, add " -windowed" at the end (note the space at the beginning!) ; it should read something like that: "C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -windowed
-Apply the change and double click on the shortcut to launch the client.

The shortcut we have created force the game to launch in windowed mode (launching the game fullscreen is what is provoking the bug). Your game should launch now but it is in a small window and we don't want that. We are going to swap to the much better Fullscreen windowed mode:

-In the top left corner of the character selection screen, click the gear icon.
-A menu appear, click option and go to the graphic option (that is the double triangular icon that look like a Vista icon)
-In the Resolution option, that is the first option, Choose Fullscreen Windowed instead of Windowed.

For future launches you can use your regular executable, you don't need to keep the shortcut we have created. Also, note that other methods to force the Windowed mode as been reported to be working.

I forgot to add in my post that I tried this as well. Didn't work for me. Hope it works for others though.

  6. I will try to be as brief and concise as possible. After the 11-9 patch I was able to login and play that evening/night with no problems. This morning 11-10, I had a notification to restart the computer for the latest Windows Update. I restarted, went to work, and this evening attempted to play. I was able to login, but when I clicked "PLAY", I had the same problem as others have posted. I deleted the .dat file from the GW2 folder and redownloaded 570k+ files (this took a whole minute, and I thought I had "fast" internet). I attempted to play, but had the same problem again as others. I decided to try an uninstall of the latest Windows Update. I uninstalled the update (KB5006365), restarted and tried to play again. Same thing, no go. I then uninstalled the latest security update (KB5007186), restarted, and tried again. I was able to make it to the character screen and play this time. I'm not going to claim that it is the latest Windows Update causing the problem, but for me, it was the problem. I just wanted to post this in case it helps someone else. I don't like not having the latest updates on my computer, but I also don't like having the latest updates kitten up other programs on my computer either. Good luck and hope this helps someone.

The use of 5 min CD's, imho, shows a complete disconnect from those who play these modes regularly. If you want the skill gone then delete it, but this is an insult

    They Smiter's Boon'ed them

^This. Existing profs/skills/specs/e-specs need rework/balancing before even thinking about adding new ones. ANet can't handle balance as it is now, much less attempting to maintain balance after adding anything new. ANet as a whole, and in general, has a history of being bad at balancing their games. Their incompetence has carried over from GW to GW2.

The phrase "potential future" sounds dubious to me, and on so many levels.

They do that by providing a product that their customers enjoy. When their customers no longer enjoy said product, they spend less time with the product and in this case eventually leave. It's just business, right? If they choose not to learn from past mistakes and they keep bleeding customers and in turn lose money, that is on them. And I think that's the big issue here, they really don't practice what they preach. They say they listen but the things they keep releasing and "promising" are not what the players, content creators, partners, and the community as a whole...are asking for. For whatever reason it seems that they keep missing the mark.

Now you can say, "well you don't know how difficult it is" or "go develop your own game and then you'll see". But I don't need to know or do either of those things to understand that a product should deliver on what it promises. A job should be done well no matter what it is. I don't need to know how to build a spaceship to understand that a spaceship blowing up in orbit is a bad thing.

The thing that is most frustrating to ME is that people ask the players to be "grateful" for what they get. People too often settle for less. The onus should be on Anet to provide a product that really fires on all cylinders. Remember, if we don't like the game we leave and find one that better suits our needs. But if their game shuts down or ceases to be profitable, they lose their jobs. You can look at the recent lay-offs that happened and yes you can have empathy for them but remember the truth is that the lay-offs happened in large part of Anet's own doing. They released expansions and siphoned off a good portion of their core teams to work on side projects. So you leave a skeleton team to do the work of a much larger team and then you wonder what happened when things blow up in your face? Would you expect any different from your job?

It's fine to branch out and work on new projects, maybe a new IP, maybe GW3, maybe GWMobile or whatever other project(s) they may have been working on. But you shouldn't do so at the expense of your bread and butter. Especially if you are telling everyone it's your passion project, yet you keep neglecting it. It seems to me a lot like mismanagement of their product as a whole and until they fix that or whatever issues keep plaguing them, these things will come up time and time again.

They don't give us episodes for free because they are nice, they do it because it's sustainable for them. A large majority of people wouldn't pay for content every 4 months that provides them with 2 hours of LS and then achievements/a few items to grind for. But they will keep coming back to game that they can drop in and out of casually. Anet knows this and so their money comes from initial Box Sales + the Cash Shop. If they knew they could charge for each episode and retain their player-base, they would.

I had no expectations for this announcement because of Anet's track record but for whatever reason they decided to hype up an event as if some big new news was coming. But then they announced something that the players have already known, along with some other vague things, and merchandise. Of course the player-base is going to be frustrated.

If Anet needed to do this for their for their morale, then fine, that's great. But don't say this was what the players have been asking for because if that's what they truly believe, then they haven't actually been listening.

    Preach it, brother
