[NA][PvE] Looking for a more casual guild

I've been back for a couple weeks now, just prior to the EoD release. I've been hopping around some guilds, but none really fit for me. They're either expanding too much, too raiding focused, or too casual.

I'm a part-time library employee that works mostly nights at the moment, and is attending grad school (for library science) classes on some nights I'm not working, and having a heavy focus on nightly activities is very hit or miss for me. I've done some fractals, I'm currently on T2, but stepped into T3 once or twice with a former guild, I've done a couple strikes, and I've looked into raiding before, but I am currently not looking for a guild focused mostly on those - I'd really enjoy something more social with a more casual look towards group content, mostly that mistakes are fine and even if I do want to raid, I'm not pressured to raid. I also don't enjoy large guilds, I have a bit of social anxiety and just feel uncomfortable in larger guilds. Discord is also a bit of an issue due to the social anxiety, I don't like being on voice and would not enjoy a guild where voice is the main form of socializing.

I have everything but Warrior at 80, with generally not-great gear, but I'm only willing to play a few of my characters. Most of my 80s are Asura, and while I love them, I have an awful time seeing them and remember I'm playing one, that I tend to die horribly (this seems to be an issue with all small races in games), so I'm re-rolling some classes (with new character slots, I'm keeping the 80s I have).

If you've read my horrible mess of issues? wants? something? feel free to shoot me a message in game to Arixbai.8645 and we can chat about the guild, I just feel more comfortable chatting first. And if you want to use a nickname, I prefer "Ari." ...I promise I'm better in normal chats than on forum posts, so I'd much rather talk in game.

Greetings Ari!

Welcome back to Tyria! It sounds like you might like my little home.

We're called The Gryphons Aerie and we’re a very small, 18+, casual/semi-casual, social and close-knit, PvE family on Tarnished Coast. As long as you're on a NA-based server, you'll be able to tag along with us in our adventures; we don't do any serious participation in WvsW. Our current peak time tends to be in the mid-late evening EST (UTC-5), starting around reset, but we would love to have others from a variety of other time zones as well to keep the adventures going. We try to have a mix of scheduled events and random things during the week according to what folks want to do. We also love helping both new and returning players get back on their feet.

We’re willing to help out with any and all questions as best as we can, whether it's dungeons/Fractals, builds, and other general game questions. All you need to do is ask.

We also don’t do the “speed runs”, exploits, etc, nor require anyone to bring a specific class or build for any dungeon run. Bring whatever you want and we'll have fun regardless. We gladly teach any content we're doing and take as much time as necessary so that everyone understands when we explain what's going on during the adventure.

We know that RL comes first and stress that fact.
We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time. Just leave a little note to let us know you'll be away, and all is well

We do not demand 100% representation.
It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone.

We are focused on providing a place where people can feel comfortable and as though they are more than just a name on the roster. We want everyone to feel like family.
We are very LGBTQ+ affirmative and do not tolerate any sort of derogatory words, comments, bigotry etc. toward anyone regardless of nationality, race, religious beliefs, gender identity or sexuality. Anyone violating that policy is subject to immediate removal, no questions asked. We also do our best to accommodate everyone's varying needs whether they have a mental or physical disorder/illness going on.

"Ok, you guys sound cool so far. What do I have to do to join?"
For more information, and to take the next step in joining us, please visit our Recruitment Listing and Guild Website.

In order to maintain our "quality vs. quantity" aspect and help build the family-like atmosphere of the guild, we do require an application to be submitted on our forums. This application asks only for basic information to help us try to organize things to fit around everyone's schedules and needs and takes just a few minutes.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a note here or contact either myself, sonofall.6757, BoopSanders.6025, or Miggsy.9431 in game and we'll do our best to answer them.

I appreciate the outreach, but a multi-game community is definitely too big for me to feel comfortable joining.

This is...a lot. I appreciate the offer, but the extent of the rules on the website make me extremely uncomfortable. I don't think I'd be able to follow rule #9 with rule #3 looming over me since I have a habit of randomly afking or tabbing longer than I intend.

It's not really as tough as it sounds. In fact, I do need to update the website, as we have made several adjustments to the rules recently. The new set is displayed on our forum, but I forgot about the website. The curses of being a "responsible" adult and working too much.  I hope you'll consider giving us a try anyway. We're very easy going and our trial membership thing is the best way to get to know us without a lot of pressure. It's very hard to accurately describe who we are on a page. We have to be experienced. 🙂
