Escort Ardent Gale

Why are the NPCs you have to protect like Ardent Gale in "Escort Ardent Gale as she poisens valravn nests" always running into every single enemie even when they are far away?

On this cliff the valravns spawn like every 30 seconds and when you defeat them, the ones you killed a few seconds ago will respawn and Ardent Gale runs back to them... for this little event it takes like 15+ Minutes to get her to the last nest because shes running to every single respawning enemie and when they are dead she will run back to the location before she got startled and while shes running back the other valravns respawn again... its like endless running back and forth. Maybe you need a bigger group but we did this with 2-4 players and we thought it would never end.

There are other events like this on older maps but I just wanted to know why are NPCs programmed like that and it never got "fixed".
