Gift of Maguuma vs Gift of the Desert

Ok, how come the Gift of The Desert is only used in some of the Legendary Weapons but the Gift of Maguuma can be used in all of them? According to Wiki. The HMS Rifle came out before PoF and yet uses Both Gifts, but the Short Bow Chuka only has Gift of Maguuma listed. Can it also use the Gift of the Desert?

The ones without collections use either, the ones with require specifically HoT as the collections require being in HoT anyway.

So Chuka has a collection that can only be achieved in the HoT maps? Why don’t all HoT/PoF weapons have collections specific to HoT/PoF? Or why don’t all Legendaries have collections?

Because the collections turned out to take too much dev resources.HoT launched with 3 of the 16 gen 2 legendaries and a promise of the rest being released over time. Several months later, Chuka & Champawat is added, along with ANet stating legendary development was on indefinite hiatus.Several more months pass, LS3 starts, and further couple months ep 2 launches with Eureka - using no collections but a new crafting model to be used for future legendary weapons. Since then, each LS episode have dropped one legendary (s3e6 even had two!).

Now gen 2 is finally completed.

So Chuka was the last one with a Collection of that type. Gotcha. Thanks for all the information ?
