Gathering nodes in new strike mission don't work

When trying to do the Forging Steel mission, there are gathering nodes. I and my daughter tried gathering from a few of them, but they only return ruined ore and ruined logs (we didn't try any harvests).
Is this intentional?

Seem to be a bug with limited tools mate
Has anybody else seen this? I only tried harvesting with mithril implements (cypress trees and mithril ores), so Linken may be correct.
I get ruined logs with my unlimited gathering tools. Haven't noticed ore or plant node results.

nodes work fine for me with unlimited tools.

I have not tried a lot but as far as I have been able to tell the nodes only actually are harvestable (not given ruined ...) after the instance has completed.
works only on unlimited tools, tried orichalcum and tools from karma merchants on plants and ore, returned ruined, have unlimited use logging tool, worked on cypress and ancient wood
