  1. I should have recorded the issue my friend and I encountered, but have located a reddit post that shows the issue exactly the way it happened. Basically the issue is you have the mirror pointed the correct way but the orbs dissipate still. This reddit post showcases the issue: People say to rotate the mirrors a bunch, turn raven statue off and on at the beginning, relog, find a new map, or even wait till the next daily reset. My friend has tried all of these and still the thing bugs. I do realize these are on a timer, these mirrors have bugged well before the timer would be up. I find it incredibly disappointing that a bug like this would still be in the game going on multiple years. The devs like to say that they cant simply fix certain bugs because its difficult to fix or would break other things in the game. Mean while conveniently they'll hotfix things that people farm that they deem too profitable. I'll digress there; I just find it irritating that they'll sit on their hands on so many bugs and give lazy excuses on why they cant fix them. I shouldn't google why something is broken and see the issue still happening years and years later.
  2. My fractal buddies and I recently came back Guild Wars 2 for the End Of Dragons expansion. My group "Was" very experienced at running fractals about 4 to 5 years ago. We ran dozens of fractals everyday and knew the mechanics in and out. We have slowly began running fractals again and the mechanics are coming back to us. Over the last week we have done a bunch of Tier 4 dailies but somedays we have issues because we are re-learning mechanics again. We decided that we are going to start on the lower ones and re-learn the mechanics again. Having said all this I do have a question for the fractal community. Most of the Fractal guides that are out there are for Tier-4. I cant really find guides for Tier-1, 2, and 3. Do the lower tiers have the same mechanics? Because I remember the lower tiers having fewer mechanics and then as you increase in tiers the fights have more mechanics. I've read the guides on the wiki, discretize, and guildjen for the tier-4's but when we did some of them on lower tier's some of the mechanics don't apply. So are there just not many mechanics between the tiers and the higher tiers just have more enemies, health etc... I ask because like I said I don't see separate guides for lower tiers. We can read-up on the tier-4 guides but then its a bit jarring when a lot of the mechanics are skipped because we are phasing them so quick or maybe there not there.
  3. I agree that most companies don't just have employees sit in the forums, however I do see a lot more companies that are way more transparent and open with their player base far more than ArenaNet is. Not to critize them more, but I guess here I go; I find that Anet likes to reinvent the wheel with a lot of their systems when just a simple change would suffice. So yes when they start totally reworking stuff things get more complicated.
  4. It's hard to gauge the player base interest on something since the forums doesn't always represent the player-base as a whole. Most game devs from what I have read and heard shoot to have 50% hate it and 50% love it because you know its balanced when it's somewhere in the middle; I personally would be very much interested on their internal stats of virtuoso. Sometimes it can be hard to really know if the feedback we give is being heard, because I did read the other forum post for the beta feedback and a large portion of that feedback wasn't addressed. So it makes you wonder if the feedback was received and didn't mesh with their internal philosophies of what they wanted the class to do and be. Or maybe they're spread so thin that they just didn't have the time to address the feedback. Or maybe our feedback is being addressed but not till a later date. Sometimes I wish they could chime in and let us know what feedback is being addressed and what isn't, but largely Anet doesn't really work like that.
  5. Like you said, I don't think its unplayable or complete garbo; I do think though it was left hanging in terms of execution. I don't think it's busted to where they couldn't easily go in and fix it a bit. For me I look at Virtuoso and I think what would make me want to take it over Mirage or Chrono. At the moment it doesn't feel like it differentiates itself enough. Sure the bladesongs and Psionic skills differentiate itself, but the performance of it doesn't and Mirage and Chrono already fills some of those holes that Virtuoso is supposedly trying to fill.
  6. I think a better way to look at is Mesmer is in a spot where it needs some love. I've found over the years that Arenanet tends to focus more dev time into certain elites and builds over others. I still love the Mesmer over all the other classes, but at the same-time I would like to see them make some tweaks and adjustments. I think one easy way they could add a lot would be to add boons to the bladseongs. To me I feel like the spec is like 80% there. It's just missing that little extra panache
  7. You make it a lot a great points and when I do fractals with pugs I often find myself correcting people when they bash Mesmer. Having said that using alacrity as an example; I think people see that other classes now can bring alacrity to the party using a skill rotation that isn't as involved. I've played Mesmer for years so I don't have issues pumping alacrity out but I do think they made it easier for other classes to give alacrity.
  8. For me it's not that I don't like it, I just know they can make it better.
  9. I haven't tried it in PVP so maybe it's better there. Only in PVE.
  10. I have mained a Mesmer since GW2 launch and it is my favorite class in the game, but curious if anyone else feels Virtuoso is weak compared to the other elite specs and other classes elite specs. I have tried multiple flavors of condi specs and power specs. ; I have tried dagger/pistol and scepter torch, sword/sword and staff, and a GS power spec. I'm open-minded to the idea of virtuoso, but I feel like the mesmer already has good condi and power specs and virtuoso doesn't really offer up that much that would make me want to choose it over the other specs. I have only tried Willbender and Harbinger thus far. But these specs seem stronger or better balanced compared to their other class elite specs and other class specs. Curious if other people feel like the virtuoso is missing something?
