Anyone feel like Guild Wars 2 is straying from its original direction? Will the next expansion revive the game or will it be the last straw?

GW2 was always about breaking the norm and evolving the MMO genre and getting away from WoW. Thats EXACTLY what POF did with mounts. It's the exact direction the developers have always had with this game.

  2. This game still looks better and performs better then 90% of the other mmo's out there. You ever played wow when alot of things are on screen? Chug chug chug. Just like gw2. And thats just raid scenarios at times. They're new open world events (rip off of gw2 events) makes it worse.

I think we should just be grateful for what we have, and if you want better performance the answer is very simple. Open up your wallet and buy a faster CPU.

If you want to bring more players to raid content, especially casuals, you must create an easy, medium and hard difficulty with scaling rewards. This allows the mechanics to be learned on an easier setting which will increase the player pool and close the gap to the higher difficulties. Strikes will not accomplish this.

Or they could just stop trying to be WoW, which is a raid centric mmo. GW2 never had and never will have a big raid community. If you want raiding this isn't the mmo you goto. You goto wow or FF14. Instead of doing what they're good at (pve exploration/puzzles/dynamic events)

After several tutorials and extremely wrist pain I still dont get it. Diving and jump button wont get you any momentum . And the controls are just atrocious. I tried to map the the controls on my mouse but it feels very unnatural and uncomfortable. Since I'm left handed I tried to map on right ctrl and right shift and num0 to jump but my wrist starts to hurt after few minutes... there are way to many buttons to press simultaneously and I can barely reach them. I'm a bit salty now since I wasted every single coin I had on a mount I will never use, instead of saving it for skyscale. Will cost me another 2 years to get the gold for him. Even though I don't think I want him, too much farming and grinding.

If you can't control the griffon then God help you on the roller beetle lol

Maybe even update the servers as well.

It's not even that IMO. It's just the fact they are taking it one baby step at a time, and slowly but surely improving the engine and performance (and wow they even communicate that to their playerbase which would never happen here)

I don't think they need to re write the entire engine but just chipping away at once every 6 months or a year would make a big improvement just in faith and morale because people would know they are still committed to the game and trying to improve it for long term.
