Gold price for 400 gems rised to the 170+ gold and won't drop. Looks like another way to get more money plus sink ingame gold from the player's pockets.Reminds me SWTOR and their Cartel market focus with short chapter content scheme.

No one forces you to buy gems.

Possible Names: Soulbinder or RitualistHero: wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Master_Togo Will be known as the Legendary RitualistWeapon: Scepter

Special Mechanics: Choose one of three urns filled with the spectral essence of fallen heroes to carry with you on your back in combat. Each urn grants a passive effect to the Revanant. You can switch urns in and out of combat but only once every 30 seconds. The Elite skill makes you wield the urn in place of your weapon and use a set of weapon skills related to that hero. The passive effect will be lost while the elite is active. wielding the urn drains energy.Possible Urn sets:Urn 1 - Humorous was TybaltUrn 2 -Disciplined was ForgalUrn 3 -Friendly was SieranOrUrn 1 - Brilliant was SnaffUrn 2 - Determined was EirUrn 3 - Courageous was Trahearne

This Specialization will include skills that focus around newer versions of the old Ritualist Binding spells, each one chains a spirit to the summoning location selected by the player. These spirits stay there until dismissed by the player, killed by enemies, or when energy is depleted. All except the Elite Skill. With a whole list to go through, picking just three utility skills and a healing kills from them would take too long. So here's the whole list so you can imagine a set yourselves. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Binding_ritual

    So what do you think?

Honestly... there is no where, remotely close to enough information here.Scepters do not make any scenes. I am guessing it would be range? What would you pair with it? Sword or axe? Both of them are are for melee or gap closure.Weapon skills?Hero skills?Elite skills?

I play a lot of D&D (or did until I moved) and I would sit down and make classes just for fun. Even a simple class that I came up with that was only 5 prestige levels was 2 and a half pages long. Some of my other classes were anywhere from 10 to 15 pages long.

Also, in a game like Guild Wars, you can't just come to the table with an idea for one thing (Class), you have to bring detailed and BALANCED ideas for all the classes.

The idea of this seems interesting, but the Rev is already 'summoning' spirits. Even after doing some reading this doesn't seem all that in tune with the game. Back to the drawing board.

EDIT - Also, you make your first post on the 4th and 16 days later you don't reply? You have to baby your ideas man. Build on them, tweak them, take constructive criticism and work with it.

  3. I mean, we can look at the added paragons and the weapons added for them.

Berzerker: Torch with 2 abilities.Spell Breaker: Daggers with 5 abilities.

Dragonhunter: Longbow with 5 abilities.Firebrand: Axe with 2 abilities

Herald: Shield with 2 abilities.Renegade: Shortbow with 5 abilities

Daredevil: Staff with 5 abilitiesDeadeye: Rifle with 5 abilities

Scrapper: Hammer with 5 abilities.Holosmith: Sword with 3 abilities.

Druid: Staff with 5 abilities.Soulbeast: Dagger with 3 abilities.

Tempest: Warhorn with 8 abilities.Weaver: Sword with 42 abilities.

Chronomancer: Shield with 2 abilities.Mirage: Axe with 9 abilities.

Reaper: Greatsword with 5 abilities.Scourge: Torch with 2 abilities.

You can see where they either just got lazy or had a lack of ideas and you can clearly see where the ideas were so high in numbers they must have been beating them back into peoples heads with sticks.

  4. @Starbridge.7926 said:Dragon hunter picked up 5 new attacks when it got longbows.Berserker picked up 2 when it got the touch. Its 4 and 5.Herald picked up 2 when it got shields.

I think you can see where I am taking this...

(The continuation because I had to take off to work.)

I feel like the classes that only got an off hand, or a main hand weapon (1 handed) kinda got the shaft. At the least, when you take 'Berserker' spec, your 1, 2 and 3 attacks should pick up something IF you are holding a torch, or even just the 3.

    Kind of like Thief.

Pistol/pistol, your 3 attacks with both in rapid fire.Pistol/dagger, point blank shot and teleport away.Pistol/none, single weapon barrage attack.Dagger/none, bleeding AoE spin.Dagger/pistol, single shot, shadowstep to target.Dagger/dagger, acrobatic vault with bleeding attack.

This is an amazing feature that you just don't see in many games, now as it might not work with ALL classes and ALL their weapons, it would be nice to see a few more nice pair ups like this.

I.E. -Berserker: (Ability 3)Sword/torch, AoE fire spin.Axe/torch, fire axe toss.Mace/torch, fire damage front cone ground pound.

Anet should just trickle gems to me, and I will just spit out ideas (of the balanced and logical variety) left and right. Haha!

New weapons though, would be one of the greatest additions/changes they could make. It would also breath new life into some of the classes.

  5. Cool... now that this thread was massively hijacked by two people just having a pointless argument on the internet. Lets try and keep it on point here people. I liked the new 'paragons' for PoF but I was really sad when I saw that weapons were just more or less recycled for them. :(If you ask me, the only class that really came out on top with PoF was Ele with the dual attunements that branched out over all its weapons, and I am not even that much of a fan for Ele. Some of the animations just don't fit some of the weapons but that't minor. Some new weapons would be nice.Even if the weapons for the HoT paragons were just changed.
Like...Dragonhunter getting the spear (javelins) for its range.
Berserker picking up claw weapons.Herald picking up the tome. (Someone else's idea)

  6. @Yannir.4132 said:I always thought whips are kind of a joke as a weapon. It would do nothing against heavy armor except maybe scrape the paint a bit. Magic though, makes things different.

I was thinking more along the lines of Javelins.

Javelines kind of tie in with the spears/polesarms as a ranged weapon. Yes, I know they are different but also the same.

@kasoki.5180 said:Maybe a tome or a spellbook as a new weapon for magic-themed specializations or professions

A spellbook would be kind of nice, but that kind of lands really close to the Focus items already. Mesmer could use a book with great effectiveness, Rev... ehhh... possible, but Engi... what the heck would an engi do with a book. It already has turrets. I guess it could be grenade-like potions, but those are already in the game... grenades and potions. XD

My idea was more focused at only adding some new weapons mixed through the classes already provided.

  7. My only real problem with ele are the skills. Such as... staff and lightning. Chainlightning is not really what it is. Its more a 'bouncy lightning ball'Real chain lightning skill should be a ramp up if you ask me. Starts on a single target and the longer that target is hit, it starts to chain/link to other enemies. Its been a while since I have played my ele, but if ask, I will go through each ability and offer my opinion. Also, scepters... what the hell. Some of the abilities look like you are about to do a mic drop. Almost like the scepter is not really needed.

  8. So... I have been playing for a while now, with some long breaks scattered throughout my time playing. The new classes for HoT and PoF are amazing! I was saddened when I did not see any new weapon styles come into the game though.

Spears/polearmsElementalist:Fire and water (melee styles)Earth and Air (range styles)Guardian:Melee styleRanger:Range style

    Fists/claws:Necromancer:Mixed melee and rangeWarrior:Melee styleThief:Melee style

WhipsMesmer:Ranged styleRevenant:Short ranged melee mixedEngineer:Short ranged melee mixed

Added a little something for all the classes so nothing felt left out. Whips was kind of out there, but I couldn't leave 3 classes just out. This is just a quick lay out for how it could work. I have no problem going into a more detailed description if this catches some Dev/Anet attention. :D
