Hello everyone, we have been following this conversation and continuing to read your feedback since my last post, and I'm here to give you another quick update. Like other major elements of the expansion, we’re planning on providing more information on relics before launch. For relics specifically, we’re working to get that blog ready for publish on July 18—and because I know you’re wondering, that timeline is so we can write it, review it for accuracy, edit it, and translate it into all supported languages.

We know that the legendary rune compensation is of great interest to you, and we'll be sharing more of our plans about that in the blog post. While that's still coming, I want to clarify a bit about my note on compensation. This will not be an unrelated item; it’s going to be part of the relics system. We’ll have more details in that upcoming blog post.

Finally, I want to thank you all for continuing to have this conversation and share your feedback with us. It’s been helpful and we all appreciate it.

I'm wondering what you expected when you decided to move the goal posts. Giving us something new is fine; taking away something we worked for is entirely not. This change essentially lowers the quality of life for people who went to the trouble of getting a full set of legendary runes. We'll go from being able to change our build with a few clicks to having to carry around extra relics just in case. How is that different from carrying around extra sets of runes? Giving us a relic or two to "compensate" is no compensation at all if it does not in fact return us to the former functionality.

    Bad move, Anet. Bad move.

Ever since the trading post update, whenever I open the trading post, it does not load the first page I am on and it is simply blank. Then when I change pages to something like gold to gem exchange it will load and then I will have to swap back to the regular trading post tab. This is even worse than before, not to mention it is just as slow.

I have the same problem. It always takes 2 tries to get the trading post to load, after logging in or switching characters. Always. SOMETIMES I see a flash of an error window -- just a flash, gone before I can read it. Clearing the cache doesn't fix it.

Also, the Trading Post is just as slow as it was before the upgrade. It sometimes takes more than 30 seconds to finish a transaction. It's been that way for several years, and it was a stark change from the way it was up until then. The trading post was snappy and completed transactions almost instantly, and then in 2019 it changed to what we see now: sometimes quick, most times slow, sometimes won't complete at all, and kitten help you if the login server disconnect error pops up in the middle of a transaction.

Honestly, I've given up on hoping it will get better. It's been more than 4 years like this.

  3. I know that it's not practical to put the Orr temples and the Gates of Arah on a schedule, but PLEASE make the countdown to the next defense/attack VISIBLE.

Many collections require these events, and especially now with the Zhaitan variant skins require 2 each, it's so, so tiresome to come into Cursed Shore or Malchor's Leap and have NO IDEA how long you'll have to wait. It can be 5 minutes -- or it can be an hour and 55 minutes, and there's no way to know.

PLEASE let us see the timer. PLEASE!

    Completed my first.

I don't see an indication that this is weekly in any way. You HAVE to pay the 10K research notes for each weapon, plus all the other stuff like 200 jade runestones and 250 memories of aurene.

I disagree. The indication I see is on another of Leivas's menus -- the summoning stones. You can choose to buy only 4 of those each week. This is precisely what some of my guildies do because they refuse to do strikes and don't have any green prophet shards to spend. They don't have to do strikes to stock up on them. I don't see why scale splinters will be any different.

In my opinion it's more likely that the scale splinters work the same way than not, but we will all know after weekly reset next Monday.

"Repeat the Aurene’s Facet of Shadows achievement to collect the entire set of sixteen skins" You repeat the collection itself, not the shard purchase that unlocked it. You just buy a new fragment to use for the repeat of the collection.

The item you get by combining four scale splinters IS the first item of the collection. So yes, you have to buy 4 scale splinters per weapon.

That said, I don't see why we have to buy all four the same week. We can buy 3, and then buy the last one after weekly reset the following week. Or, if you plan on making very many of them, buy 3 per week until you have the number you want. Or 2 per week. Or 1. The 10k research notes are not a hard and fast requirement like the 5 mystic clovers are.

  6. Devs haven't even responded to this (there's another thread about it, but it's old).

ONE class mechanic is hobbled by zip lines. It would be nice to get a response from someone, even if it's just "we're aware of the problem and intend to fix it." IF they intend to fix it. Maybe it's intentional. (In which case, my necro minion master will probably see EoD zones as little as possible.)

  7. THIS.

Whoever designed the new character select screen needs training.

I don't get motion sickness like the others above, but I do have severe vertigo from inner ear damage. I literally sway in my chair when I sit at character select too long, more so if I'm swiping the character select bar one way or the other at the same time. AND I am an older player with osteoporosis, so if I sway hard enough to fall, it puts me at risk of broken bones.

I think it's only fair that ANet pay any medical bills associated with this ill-judged character select screen.

Didn't do it for me either. What may seem trivial and easy to some is quite difficult and annoying for others. :)

I'm in my 60's. It took me until this year to finally conquer the clock tower.

First, if you're older, if your hands let you (mine don't always -- sometimes they hurt too much), practice practice practice on the hardest jps you can manage. It helps tremendously to be good at jumping puzzles to beat the clock tower. I finally tried trib mode in SAB this year and just threw myself at it until I started to succeed. It improved my skill on jumping puzzles enough to have a real shot at succeeding on the clock tower.

Second, do the clock tower in stages. Set goals. "I'll get to the first gear." "I'll get to the big drop." A lot of what it takes to succeed at the clock tower is knowledge of the course, because the jumps themselves aren't hard, it's just that you can't stop. Ever. You have to keep running no matter what, and setting a goal to learn the smoothest path to a series of targets really helps.

Third, give this video a watch. There's a lot of stuff to read at the beginning but the gold is that the YouTuber does slo-mo and freeze-frame to show you where to go and where to jump. It might help you.

Yeah, same. While ti's true that that are better places to make gold, personally I'm not in it for the gold. I'm also not in it for super rare drops that I only have a 1 in 10000 (0.0001%) chance to get. But I want to get SOMETHING to justify the time and effort I just spent. Getting the same-old, same-old junk just really left me cold. I get better loot spending 15 minutes on Tequatl than I do spending 35 minutes on Drakkar or 2-3 hours on Drizzlewood. If I wanted to spend that much time, I'd join a world boss train or a meta train.

Drizzlewood? No. Just. No. Once I've completed Citadel Crasher, I'm not doing that meta again.

    THIS.

This meta is way way way too long.

The rewards? It felt to me like I had earned SOME kind of reward from all that time and effort. I read in an interview with the devs that they said they wanted the players to feel like they earned the rewards, so I was expecting something a LITTLE better than medallions, ingots, unid gear, and one ordinary exotic weapon that can drop from any boss in Central Tyria.

Once I'm done with the 10-meta achievement, I'm not going back. Two hours of my time is worth more than that.

  11. Especially with the Legendary Armory coming -- please, PLEASE give us slumbering versions of Aurora and Vision. Few of my characters have color schemes that go with a purple aura. I can't use them.

Please. PLEASE give us slumbering versions. You could put them on a vendor easily enough, so we can trade our purple glowy earrings for slumbering versions. Even a one-time, this is it, 5 warnings the change is permanent rigamarole would be acceptable to me at this point. I want so very badly to use those earrings on my main, I can't unless I'm willing to change him to something that goes with purple. Which I'm not.

Choices are good, Anet. Please. Give us the choice.
