That's the ticket. If you get the prompt "continue" it doesn't work. I quit, then started another random story and then restarted 16, it said "start" instead. then Hellissne's method worked; the bartender has a star above his head and you can buy the booze. Unless you got far into the new instance, it's a cheap price to pay to completely restart.

Interestingly, The error you are experiencing used to take effect when changing to a lower quality view. I downgraded to a lower density because my graphics card was temporarily overheating and had the error when previewing on all characters. When I reverted to max quality the problem went away. The last update states that they fixed the issue with lesser quality screens, but ironically that seems to have created it at top quality. I found I could see my full character if I moved the preview screen to the far left of the computer screen, with the character being revealed as if from behind a curtain.

This is happening to me 80% of the time; both name and password are lost. Name isn't a problem, but I have an appropriately complex password and now I have to have it saved in a handy fashion for cut and paste, which totally defeats the purpose of a good password. This needs to be fixed.
