especially a bug has existed for so many years .How is it a bug? The game doesn't support other languages; it's not an accident.According to the official FAQ
, in my opinion GW2 global version supports and services to all countries except China, Chinese players got their own local service. So in this case GW2 can display most of the languages correctly is expectable. It says nothing about supporting languages other than the primary ones. However, I haven‘t seen any official statement that GW2 are determined not to support Traditional Chinese or other non-Latin languages.if ArenaNet just decided to be a fully money-oriented company, don't care player's feeling and need, I'd say that's very disappointing for players. There isn't a
    successful
company in the history of the planet that wasn't money oriented. "Caring about players" is not the same as "agreeing with players in all matter."Then just give players a definitely answer will be helpful, that it is not at all an excessive demand.Whatever our personal opinion is about what's good for the game or the community, ANet's responded to the this topic multiple times in the past. They've always said the same thing: no plans to support more characters sets. That shouldn't stop you from
    asking
ANet to change their mind. However, it tells us that it won't be rhetorically effective to call it a bug or to claim that somehow they aren't listening.I'm not sure what's their mind because of their replies of my tickets are almost within apologize and told they will pass the suggestion along. Also the GM's reply said "Though there is a separate Chinese client, it would be nice and inclusive to fully support Traditional Chinese characters. This is something that many players have brought up as a desired feature. I am unsure whether this has not been added to the game due to programming issues, but the game is constantly being updated; it is possible this could be something supported in the future!"

So, It's meaningless to argue and infer the mind of ArenaNet for now, I'd like to wait the answer of them.

I have been played GW1 10 years ago, the display of all languages were working great until now. That's why I truly don't understand what's the reason caused ArenaNet do not fix or just ignore this issue.

It can be understandable that this is not a high priority based on it's not a serious bug will broken the balance and I guess the number of players in non-latin languages are much less than others. But if ArenaNet just decided to be a fully money-oriented company, don't care player's feeling and need, I'd say that's very disappointing for players. Hopes not. :'(

  4. I'm a Taiwanese player. Just note I play global version GW2 , not China version GW2. Because of a GM has been requested me to report the bug to China support page. :oThere's a long-term bug in GW2 that a lot of Traditional Chinese Characters are cut in chat. For example: "你" is cut into "亻", "嗎" is cut into "口", "很" is cut into "彳". It's just tip of the iceberg, there are so many characters are cut and lost their original form. I don't know it's caused the unicode problem or something else.https://imgur.com/a/uhNVv

It forced the players in Traditional Chinese must to look for some strange alternative to keep communicate. Such as "很好,你還好嗎?", it's meaning "Great, are you OK?". This sentence is written with "HEN好,YOU還好MA?". Replace "很" with "HEN" and "嗎" with "MA", it's PINYIN; replace "你" with "YOU", it's English. That's really troubled.

As far as I know the global version GW2 is open for whole the world, there are many players come from many different countries, and they talk the different languages. However, the bug has been existed since the beginning. I have reported it in game with the bug report system 7 years ago, submitted a request form 2 years ago. Uh...the bug is still there in JUL 2019.

I'm sure is it happened too in Simplified Chinese, if it is please let ArenaNet know.
