  1. None of my characters are the Commander so I don't care. They would have done so much differently from how the Commander did things in the story that I'm completely disconnected from the story. I had a little hope the demon thing would have been a proper story shake up but it seems like we're back to asspull magitech solutions again (and this is coming from someone who does like the magitech themes in GW2).

Good thing most everything else about the game is to my liking, at least.

Yeah I was lagging bad earlier when I was farming my home and guild instances too. For once it wasn't AT&T's service giving me the middle finger. <_<

Update on this: about four hours after reset I tried to play again and whatever was going on seemed to have been resolved.

Still, it's weird that an update would do that to the ping but I'm just a layman when it comes to tech stuff.

Related to all this: where do folks think the story is going based on what you know right now? (I'm sure there are theories earlier in the thread and I intend to read through it all when I'm on break. Currently in a VO session so I gotta step away from the forums for a bit.)

Honestly, I'm digging it. It may be because Doom is my favorite game franchise of all time (don't like Doom Eternal tho), but the fact we're dealing with demons is something I can get behind. Based off what I played of the story, I like the idea of demonic energies being a different kind of magic. It could have some serious implications, like (and this is just a personal hope as well as me thinking more long term; I'm keeping my expectations level) Aurene can't filter every type of magic, that trying to could very well impact her negatively, and that the Commander and company will have to figure out another way to deal with these demonic magics while also dealing with the trickery and manipulation of these demons.

In short, I'm on board for this so far.

The Asura need to go back to the pits of hell that they came from.  Primordus is dead, they have no reason to stay here.  Go home and stay home you freaks.

That's a funny way to spell Charr.

  5. None. I'd rather Anet not bring an old character back just to botch it up somehow. As it stands I don't have confidence in the story team to bring back any old character in a manner that would be consistent and believable for said character. This is taking into account the fact we're dealing with an entirely different story team right now that hasn't handled the bulk of old characters that prior story teams had a chance to do something with but didn't. Maybe my confidence in the team will get boosted with post-EoD story updates. However, I highly doubt it.

Can you people stop behaving as if Steam is the all-be of PC gaming and people can't game without having it? You're acting as if the game is unplayable if it isn't on Steam. This is turning into an obsession, really. Bohoo regular accounts can't be linked, what a tragedy. Like come on....

    This is the correct answer.

I'm not in the I love Zojja/Felicia Day crush camp, and frankly don't care if she's ever brought back in (spoilers: she won't be)

Tell your uncle who works at Anet we said thanks for the leak.

  8. I only have one character that I consider the Pact Commander. I specifically made her (with the help of a friend) based on her appearance in the LWS1 recap video before LWS1 actually came back this year.

The rest of my 44 characters (including one NPC recreation so technically that one isn't mine) pretty much do their own thing.

TBH, I love that scene, especially looking back. Because it was a case of the commander being slapped in the face and told "No, f off."

The game really needs to have more of that happen to the Commander tbh
