  1. The Expedition [XP] is a social raid "cadre" guild of North American raiders waiting for End of Dragons. Many of us have hardcore raiding backgrounds, either in Guild Wars, WoW: Shadowlands, or FFXIV: Shadowbringers. However, we raid together in GW2 just to relax raid with a consistent group of people and hang out socially with each other as a guild while we wait it out for 2022's expac release. We can be considered "midcore" raid guild -- we expect everybody to come prepared without needing boss/wing explanations, but our weekly scheduling system accommodates RL schedule conflicts and occasional absences. In situations that our raid leaders have conflicts, we ask for substitute raid leaders, or just downgrade to T4 fractals or story achievements with those who did sign up as 'Available.' If you are interested in applying, please send me a private message on these forums with more information about yourself, raid history, and what you are looking for. Please include your MAIN CLASS that you like to play (not a list of what you can play... what you ENJOY playing). We will schedule you for a Mon/Tues or Fri/Sat weekly raid session and will need to raid with you on both nights before invite to see if you mesh with our group and if you can perform to the competency that you claim. Please respond via PMs only, as direct replies to this posting might possibly be missed. Who are we recruiting: Mid-Core "Experienced" Static Recruitment - Fri/Sat, 10:30p to 1:00a+ EDT, 2.5-3 hour sessions - Typically PoF wings or spicy CM progression Recruiting 2 spots. Priority needs: BS Warrior (power & condi) Qadim Kiter (Q1 adds, QtP pylons) DPS Main with Backup Druid (for when Main Druid is out) DPS Main with Backup Alacrity or RR Requirements: - North American, 21+ yrs old - Sociable: Active on Discord (both text and voice channels); LGTBQ+ friendly - Experienced: Knows fights, Fully ascended/legendary gear - Class Mastery: Knows how to adjust meta builds/roles for sake of [XP] team comp - Camaraderie: Flexible with raid changes/cancellations, but still socializes/hangs out with guildies - Helpful: Willing and patient enough to help/wipe with newer/junior raiders or achievement/CM progression =========================================== "Casual-Core" Roster Recruitment - Mon/Tues, 9:00p to 10:30p EDT, 1.5-2 hour sessions - Typically HoT wing reclears or "Progresison-to-Kill" runs for newer raiders Requirements: - North American, 21+ yrs old - Sociable: Active on Discord (both text and voice channels); LGTBQ+ friendly - GW2 Competency: No GW2 raid experience required, but still need to know GW2 combat and dps rotations - Raid Mentality: Reads up on bosses before raid; Exotic+ gear for power and condi DPS - Camaraderie: Flexible with raid changes/cancellations, but still socializes/hangs out with guildies - Helpful: Willing and patient enough to help/wipe with newer/junior raiders Caveats/Clarifications: Per usual, our guild does not condone harassment and is both LGBTQ+ and culturally friendly. We DEFEINITLY joke around and tease each other out of friendship and fun; however, nobody has been intentionally offensive and we encourage people to confront each other and speak up if and when they feel uncomfortable. We welcome people who are in other guilds, other statics, or even other MMOs, but we expect you to stay active and socialize with our raid community at least on Discord. Even if you cannot make raid times every week, your Discord activity will help show your commitment to our community. Hardcore GW2 players need to leave any "GW2 elitist/meta culture" at the door and must be able to adjust to [XP] progression methods and strategies. Our team comp adjusts as necessary for our individual strengths/weaknesses. We’ve run into plenty of "GW2 elitists" who are fixed on their meta strats and cannot react or perform when asked to do old boss mechanics they are normally used to skipping. We are NOT Snowcrows -- [XP] raid leadership style is rather relaxed and we adjust for teammates who are still learning. We still look for competent builds/performance and will give honest criticism when mechanics are being failed. We expect members to learn and understand how builds work, and not just copy-paste meta builds and press buttons off a guide.
  2. Thanks, Eddy, for the response. I sent you a private message on the forums. Please check your GW2 Forum mailbox. Thanks! 🙂
  3. The Expedition [XP] is a raid "cadre" guild of social North American raiders preparing for End of Dragons. Many of us have hardcore raiding backgrounds, either in Guild Wars, WoW: Shadowlands, or FFXIV: Shadowbringers. We recruit gamers who already have the "Raiding 101" ethos of patience and perseverance through progression raiding, and understand the important of personal practice and preparations before raid sessions. We have two raid structures within [XP]. We have a new midcore static team working on PoF progression raids, and a casual-core roster of raiders who have busy RL schedules, other mmo/guild commitments, new to GW2 raiding, or need a slower pace of progression. We do have a handful of non-raiders friends and S/Os, but we are not a full PvX-focused guild. We group when we can outside of raids, but everybody has their daily in-game routine and work/school/sleep schedules during off-raid times. We welcome non-raiding friends into the guild, but we just caveat that we do not currently host a slew of guild events outside of our raid sessions. We are recruiting 2 midcore raiders and a handful of casual-core raiders. Group applications are encouraged, especially if you all fall in the different levels of raiding. We expect all raiders (experienced or new) to be geared in at least one Support build and two DPS builds (power and condi) to allow for team comp flexibility. Midcore raiders are expected to be experienced with their main class in full ascended or legendary armor. Casual-core raiders only need Exotic gear for a support build and a power build, and strive to work on all 3 sets, and we will train and focus on their builds/gear during our HoT training raids. All applicants will need to attend one of our next raid sessions to get to know you better and see you in action. Invited members will also be put on probationary membership before fully vetted. Per usual, our guild does not condone harassment and is both LGBTQ+ and culturally friendly. A good portion of our core are diverse and we do joke around and tease each other out of friendship and fun; however, we encourage people to confront each other and speak up when they feel uncomfortable. If you are interested in applying, please send me a message on these forums with more information about yourself, your raiding history, what you are looking for, and we will schedule a time to meet/raid with you. Please refrain from messaging me in-game as when I log in I typically have a lot of guild things I need to do (and also want to play the game, too). Unfortunately, the in-game mailbox doesn't have enough space to have multiple mail conversations back and forth for me to fully track each conversation. Who are we recruiting: "Midcore PoF Progression" Static Recruitment - Fri/Sat, 10:30p EDT start time, 2.5-3 hour sessions - 1 HoT wing reclear + 1 PoF wing training each night Recruiting 2 spots. Priority needs: Backup Druid (for when Main Druid is out; otherwise, gets to BS or DPS) BS Warrior (power & condi) Omni-Mesmer (tank/boon/power/condi) Requirements: - North American, 21+ yrs old - Raider Mentality: Practiced, studied, and prepared before raid - Experienced: HoT Wings 1-4 on Reclear - Geared: Full ascended/legendary support and DPS - Class Mastery: Knows how to adjust builds for progression - Camaraderie: Willing and patient enough to help newer/junior raiders - Helpful: Willing to help Casual-Core raids when available - Sociable: Active on Discord via text chat and voice/mic =========================================== "Casual-Core HoT Raid Training" Roster Recruitment - Varies M-F, Start time varies around 6-8pm EDT, 1.5 hour sessions - 1 HoT wing training each session Requirements: - North American, 21+ yrs old - No GW2 Raid Experience Required - Raider Mentality: Practiced, studied, and prepared before raid - Main Class: Both elite specs unlocked with full Exotic gear or higher - Raid Builds: Must have a Support* and a power DPS build in Exotics - Camaraderie: Willing and patient enough to help slower-paced raiders - Sociable: Active on Discord via text chat and voice/mic *Support Roles: - Heal Druid - Banner Warrior - Alacrity Renegade/Mesmer - Quickness Firebrand/Scrapper/Chrono - Tank (1150-1500 Toughness Mesmer, Guardian, or Healer) - Solo Kiters Caveats/Clarifications: We welcome people who are in other guilds, other statics, or even other MMOs, but we expect you to stay active and socialize with our raid community at least on Discord. Even if you actively sub to other games, we expect you to come prepared and practiced before our raid sessions. Hardcore GW2 players need to leave any "GW2 elitist/meta culture" at the door and must be able to adjust to [XP] progression methods and strategies. We’ve had plenty of "GW2 elitists" claiming to play any role flaunting their 100CM fractal titles, yet they cannot react or perform in a progression setting when forced to do old boss mechanics they are normally used to skipping or spamming stability. We are NOT Snowcrows -- [XP] raid leadership style is rather relaxed and we adjust for teammates who are still learning. We still strive for effective builds and team comps and give honest criticism when mechanics are being failed. We focus on "mechanics first, DPS last" and a "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast" mentality for teaching raids. We expect members to learn and understand their builds, and not just copy-paste meta builds and press buttons.
  4. The Expedition [XP] is a raid "cadre" guild currently recruiting North American raiders with "MMO raiding" experience who enjoy the social raiding atmosphere and are patiently waiting for the next End of Dragons expansion. We look for people who already have the "Raiding 101" of practicing, patience, and perseverance of progression raiding, know your generic MMO-raid calls (like stacks, spreads, and interrupts), and have the self-drive for personal improvement and raid preparations outside of raid time. As a team, we are gradually getting newer players up to speed while also building our overall team raid rhythm through consistency of playing content with the same group of people. We are a raid-focused "cadre" or roster vice a "static." We currently have 13 raiders with varying availability and schedules -- which is more than a 10-man squad. [XP] Raid Leaders post upcoming raid sessions on Discord at the start of the week, and any raid crewmate signs up on sessions they can attend, and your roles may change weekly. Most of our recent sessions have be late night EST to balance our PST crewmates. Experienced raiders who strive for weekly full clears must rely on other statics or LFG, but can come to [XP] for the fun socials of raiding, helping newer raiders develop experience, and extra practice on bosses or roles they normally might not normally play. We are recruiting social raiders (Discord required), but we are a bit limited on our roster size right now. We are also recruiting another Raid Lead/Teacher/Coach to open up more raid sessions, which would allow us to recruit more and give everybody a chance to raid with us weekly. If you are interested in becoming an [XP] raid crewmate, please mail me (Zigity.9865) in game about yourself. Interested recruits must raid with us for a night to see how everybody gels and gets along before we do official guild/discord invites. I will respond with the next raid time we have an available slot, but keep in mind it might be a while before our schedules align and we can only really fit 1-2 new recruits in our raids. Mail is preferred over /whispers since I might be in the middle of something or alt-tabbed. Please ping me again if you have yet to get a response. However, please keep your own inbox open for replies (max 10 mail inbox) as missed replies or not showing up to our confirmed raid time will assume "no further interest" and will not be followed up. Who are we recruiting:WOW and FFXIV players with raiding backgrounds -- Even if you actively sub to other games, we expect you to come prepared and practiced before our raid sessions. Please share some of your previous raiding experience and progression style, and where you are at with GW2 raiding.GW2 raiders without any "GW2 elitist/meta culture" -- Historically, we have had plenty of "GW2 elite player" saying they can play any role and show of their 100CM fractal titles, yet they cannot adjust their gameplay and fall apart when forced to actually do old boss mechanics they normally skip. Less experienced GW2 raiders are welcome as long as you commit to self-improvement, practice, and raid prep before our raid sessions. Please share where you are in GW2 raiding, and where you personally have room for improvement. Self-awareness is key.Another raid leader/teacher -- The [XP] Guild Leader is essentially the "executive producer" that can recruit, schedule, and establish the weekly raid sessions, but the [XP] Raid leader is the "director" that runs each actual raid session. We schedule raids weekly based on the current Raid Leader's schedule. Must be patient with our newer raiders and know how to manage LFG pugs. Please share your teaching experience (or if you have any video/streams of examples of your teaching style) and we can chat further with our current [XP] Raid Leadership team. This is what [XP] is NOT:We are NOT a weekly full clear static yet -- We are still on early progression with a lot of brand new GW2 raiders. Our raid sessions are not static each week... times are subject to the personal weekly availability of the raid leaders. We are NOT a PVX-guild -- We are a raid-focused guild. Though we naturally hang out on discord while working on solo tasks and sometimes do other content together, many of us also sub to other games or have other RL things going on. We don't need/rely on the guild to make GW2 fun for us outside raid times. You can always @ ping us on Discord if you need help in-game, but most of us will congregate mainly at raid times. We are NOT Snowcrows -- [XP] raid leadership style is rather relaxed, and we must adjust for new GW2 raiders who are still learning gear and rotations. This doesn't mean we don't strive for effective team comps and give honest criticism when mechanics are being failed. We have a "mechanics first, DPS last" and "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast" mentality for teaching raids, focusing on perfect mechanics before high DPS output. We may employ older strats and do boss mechanics that are normally skipped in PUGS and experienced groups.
  5. The Expedition [XP] was a raid static guild from 2015-2018 that disbanded due to RL scheduling conflicts and general GW2 content burnout. Good times were had, friendships have still endured while we drifted to other games, and many of us never truly left, logging in seasonally for LW content patches. A couple of us [XP] crewmates are pinging interest for those who are interested in building the next generation of Expedition [XP] raid crewmates in light of the upcoming GW2 End of Dragons expansion. Even though content has slowed down and raids are not yet confirmed for EOD, there are still 25+ish raid encounters that are still relevant gold income and fun team fights to defeat, and plenty of small-squad open world bosses to explore for the fun of it. Today, we are recruiting any former/current WOW/FFXIV/mmo raiders in the NA Primetime Region (EST to PST evenings) who don't need the "How to MMO Raid 101" and already have the patience and drive for raid training and progression wipes. Discord required. I have a handful of "other MMO raider" friends who are M+ and Ultimate Legend raiders with GW2 accounts that have never tried GW2 raid and want to just try it out. If you are interested in trying GW2 raiding and are interested in joining our raid roster/cadre, even if you are playing another sub MMO right now, send me a in-game mail to Zigity.9685. You are welcome to include your WOWlogs and FFLogs if you wish to share. We will invite you to our training raids so we can meet more of you, and you can test out our raid leading style and atmosphere. Just need an 80 character with HoT/PoF expacs in Exotic dps gear and basic understanding of how to play GW2. We will teach bosses and strats in game. No strings attached on your first GW2 raid with us... if you find out its not your cup of tea, we will just be happy you've tried it. Of course, current GW2 raiders are welcome to ping interest; however, please understand that we will not be running 100% DPS SnowCrows clears and team comps. We will be only working on the entry bosses at first, and will need to adjust to some old school team comps and OG low dps strats (#contentrespect) depending how fast the new players adjust. Guild Wars was derived from Magic: The Gathering, and with new players having only "starter decks," we have to see what our team deck looks like and adjust as necessary with the cards we have. Our [XP] crew grows from our people, so depending on response to this recruitment pitch, our raid guild structure will grow and adapt appropriately. With enough interest, the goal is to have a strong static core raid team with a strong bench roster of reliable players who might want GW2 raiding as their supplemental to their WoW Mythic+ or FFXIV Savage/Ultimate statics. We hope to hear from from you! =The Expedition [XP]=
