A relatively straight forward way of getting exotic level celestial gear is to buy the bladed armor set pieces (which are stat selectable) from the map merchant in Verdant Brink. The chest piece can only be obtained from the Matriarch during the night boss phase however. The gloves also have a small chance to drop from events in that map so I would buy that one last.
