The reason behind this bug for me remains unclear. It doesn't seem to be my hardware problem since I can run all other games on my laptop at high graphics without going black screen. It started happening earlier today while I was doing Crucible of Eternity. It just suddenly goes black screen. All I was running in the background are Google Chrome for music, and Discord for contacts. I tried tuning the graphics settings to lowest, but it continued to randomly black out in the middle of gameplay. It doesn't seem to have a pattern. Even when my game is idle, it blacks out. In the middle of a loading screen? Black out. Applies to middle of fights and middle of chatting as well. The black outs generally occurs from 2~28 minutes after I started up the game. The game seems to be still running regardless, and I can still hear ambient noise, the mouse button is also the Guild Wars styled whenever I'm on the game window as well. But no controls seems to work. I can't press anything nor do anything. I tried setting it there for a few minutes, but it continued on to remain blacked out. Hopefully someone with technical knowledge can help me with it as soon as possible since it has been severely disrupting my farming efficiencies this whole time.

On further testing, the last patch seems to have broken the -assetsrv option entirely and it will be ignored. The alternative method: Open notepad as an administrator, then open the file:C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts Add a line to the bottom and save it:127.0.0.1 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com Now GW2 should fail to connect. Change the line and save it:50.16.144.158 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com Confirm if it's still stuck. Remove the line when you're done. Same issue, stuck on 2 files only but it wouldn't download. How did you fix it? Because I'm having the same problem

Nevermind it worked this morning.

I do not think it is the client problem but the server problem anyway. Because like I stated, I can still access my other characters just fine.

So I just tried the prefreset, didn't work.

This incident had occured for not just once, but twice. The first time, I was teleporting to my friend who was in Desert Highlands while I'm in Crystal Oasis. I left the computer there in the loading screen and went to bed. The second day, my family member turned off the computer before I woke up, describing that it was still in the loading screen when they did it afterwards. I tried to enter the character again and it's still stuck there in the loading screen. I waited for another half an hour before finally deciding to screenshot it for technical support, only to finally have the game load right after I pressed the PrintScreen button. So I shrugged it off and continued playing. I did test it again with my friend the second time with Desert Highlands to the Elon Riverlands, and it worked perfectly without any problem. We then decided to head for The Desolation afterwards. Only to have myself stuck in this screen even after leaving it overnight, pressing PrintScreen, and restarting my computer. The problem had persisted for 2 days straight. With myself being disconnected ever so and often for being idle for too long in the meanwhile. I did retried to leave it there. Tested with my other characters which worked just fine whenever I access to them. So I really don't know why is this happening. If anyone had any idea, I plea for you to do offer some help.
