  1. I genuinely enjoyed the riffle on Mesmer.

    Enjoyment 1:

Healing from non-ground target weapon auto-attacks is fun. There needs to be more of this, in general, to promote ranged play and movement; away from the boring stacking habits. I see comments stating that the damage is low. I would rather have a weapon designed around healing. There are plenty of other weapons that deal damage and I think it's a fair trade-off if the support capability is high.

    Complaint 1:

I do think the portal duration on Rifle 5 is very short. For casual players such as myself (or perhaps I just have a severely slow response time) it is not practical to use as it expires way too quickly. What's the big deal if the portal duration exists for a long time?

    Complaint 2:

The AOE on Rifle 3 may be larger. In practice, allies run out of the AOE target before my pinky bullet travels through the pinky portal. If it will have a small AOE, perhaps the healing reward should be fatter 😗

  2. After playing around with the maces:

    1. Ambush skill on Mace 1 should be an AOE heal.

    2. The healing flow isn't very consistent outside of the Druid spec. The auto-attack chain could have some additional healing incorporated into one of the chain skills, perhaps on Burgeon.

    3. Force of Nature: The sudden enlargement of the character is kind of distracting/jarring, considering the duration isn't very long. might be better to forego that effect or replace it with a simpler visual cue.

the fact that all weapon skills from virtuoso do nothing but damage and yet some people want to have also off-hand dagger that does nothing but damage 😄

No, it seems people want an off-hand dagger that provides some survivability and/or mobility. Not more damage.

  5. Move Blade Leap to a Dagger Offhand

The more I think about it, it might make more since to make blade leap a dagger 4 skill. Why would sword 3 be modified on virtuoso when you can't pair it with dagger main hand? Doesn't make sense to me...

While it's true that you need not bring dagger, that really isn't the purpose here. We should be able to play with the new weapon. Blade Leap on sword 3 provides some mobility and utility to restock a blade but can't be paired with the mainhand dagger....  That is a bad design choice IMO.

  6. I really wish anet would polish up the main-hand dagger. And I really did not like the other off-hand weapons paired with the dagger… didn’t work.

why doesn’t this espec get dual daggers with a block or mobility?

other especs received absurd mobility in their kits…

Not to mention, this is the third Expansion where Mesmer won’t get a two-handed weapon.

Virtuosos issue isn't it needing off hand daggers.

Virtuosos issue is core mesmers been made so weak instant casts and being able to overlap certain abilities + power block has carried this proffession in game modes.

Virtuoso just got up and put mesmer on cast time projectiles with weak blade songs and no utility.

Amazingly yeah it sucks.  As if Anet couldn't predict this.

Mesmers core skillset got nerfed into the absolute ground and alot of what it had got gutted. For virtuoso to ever work they need to rework mesmer realistically at its foundation.

Anet need to stop bandaiding mesmer with nerfs and deal with things if they feel mirages mechanic is so toxic in the game. Rework mirage. And revert the core mesmer nerfs so its core can be strong enough to utilise more.

A little unrelated. See other discussions for Mesmer rework talks. The issue regarding the lack of survivability with the virtuoso kit remains, and that is the focus, among improving other things related to the specific espec. Off-hand dagger and modifications to the main-hand dagger can go a long way to making the virtuoso viable.

Virtuoso dagger is just lame because daggers generally require symmetry with an offhand to look good, and the swinging animation for its attacks as a ranged weapon look so unbelievably stupid.

If you telekinetically swung around your dagger to create spells and effects, it would look a ton better.

Definitely agree about the symmetry part

I wouldn't give it any daggers at all.

I would rather it have a Main Hand Pistol.

It seems that ANet decided to give the majority of classes unlikely and unsuitable weapons.

    Ranger gets a hammer.

    Ele gets a hammer.

    Engineers get a mace.

    Thieves get a scepter.

When is this going to stop?

I wouldn’t expect such a large change. They put a lot of work into the Virtuoso. I think the community just wants it to be the best it can be and up to par with the other elite specs.

    just IMO though..

Mirage with Dual Axes makes sense and should’ve happened.

Mesmer with Dual Pistols makes sense and should’ve happened.

and now we’re here with the Virtuoso where thematically, Dual Daggers makes sense and should’ve happened. Even if they wanted to add some flavour where our off hand dagger is a psionic one.

Hmm, I wonder why Anet is reluctant to add it. It seems to be an obvious desire to run around with dual daggers on a class that’s themed for it. Not to mention, the lack for survivability being an easy issue to solve by adding the off-hand dagger. A simple mobility or block skill. It Doesn’t have to involve phantasms…

I still have hope as they added ambush skills to the Untamed, which was a surprise given it had a new two handed weapon

Since chronomancer, mesmer has not ahd an e-spec that gives them a new phantasm skill. Pretty obvious Anet don't want the work.

Isn't this part of the argument for the virtuoso? not to be focused on the clones or phantasms?

besides there is no intended synergy with the phantasms.. that I have noticed anyway

    What would it do, though?

Looking for community feedback on this one.

I had the opinion that the current core off-hand Mesmer weapons felt a little awkward to use as they summon phantasms. I do think the virtuoso is intended to be high-risk but having some sort of mobility or extra block with a dagger off-hand would help tie it together as well.

some people have been talking about potential for condi, so maybe something condi related on a dagger 4/5.

regardless, it just feels like dual dagger would match the theme of this e-spec well. IMO

I do find it hard to survive.  I was fighting some frogs and beetles by the giant tree waypoint in TD and I was near constantly poisoned.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have 1 heal skill and a singular block (F4) unless we talent more.  I found I was doing lots of damage and it was fun, but my health was constantly going down and I had no way to bring it back up.  Lots of other classes at this point have some sort of "vamp" or "lifesteal" talents/skills.  I feel like Virtuoso needs something small to offer a little more sustain

I think adding a dagger off-hand with some mobility / block in place of phantasms would help with the survivability

  14. Is Mesmer really the only espec not to receive a two handed weapon in any expansion so far?

I really think we can justify dual dagger on the virtuoso to compensate. Considering all the other core offhand weapons deal with phantasms.., it’d be nice to have an off-hand that caters to the virtuoso mechanics change.

I believe adding a dagger 4/5 to include some mobility or a block will help mitigate the issue of survivability when playing as the virtuoso.

    please consider adding off-hand dagger…. 😄

    Note:

IMO it is a bad design choice to modify sword 3 (Blade Leap) on the virtuoso when it cannot be paired with main-hand dagger. Blade Leap is a good example of what an off-hand dagger 4 could provide. Some mobility + chained to a utility to restock a blade.

  17. Unleashed Pet Skills

I do believe that each pet arch-type should have 1 unique unleashed pet skill. As of now, all three unleashed skills feel very similar.

    Flow

The hammer and yin/yang balance with the pet is really fun.... but the cantrip skills don't compliment very well, shouldn't they be cc focused? give us a float or a knock down that we can followup with some thump'n.
